21/09/2025: Awesome pizza, a pleasant discovery! I've had the pleasure of trying takeout pizza from Pizzeria Il Veliero several times, and I must say it's always been an excellent experience. The pizza is truly delicious; you can clearly taste the care taken in selecting and using high-quality ingredients. So far, I've always had a great experience with takeout, but the atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming, and the staff has proven to be friendly and polite. This piqued my interest, and I can't wait to try their seafood, too. I'll definitely be back for a full sit-down dinner.

11/06/2025: Always very nice and suggestive. The pizza is thin, crispy and good made with quality raw materials. On tap in addition to the lager beer there is the possibility of asking for the red beer that I prefer and that I can say is very good and full-bodied. This time we opted for the pizza but usually the food in the restaurant is also very good. A special mention for the spaghetti di mare al cartoccio. Excellent value for money.

03/08/2025: Locale scoperto per puro caso perché di passaggio.. che dire! Siamo rimasti estremamente colpiti, piatti gustosissimi della tradizione con prodotti locali e pasta fresca di loro produzione, ambiente accogliente, caldo e familiare e una suggestiva vista sulle colline della Maremma. Consigliatissimo!

13/07/2025: I was a guest at a wedding dinner. The venue was simple but well-kept, with a beautiful garden and pool outside. Parking was easy, the food was clean, and the service was friendly. I ate really well, with prompt and adequate service. I can't comment on the price because I was a guest.

01/07/2025: As a pilgrim on the Via Francigena, I spent two unforgettable days here. An incredible welcome. Because of the heat, I left Massa very early and arrived around 9 a.m. I was able to have breakfast instead of the one I didn't have on the day of departure. Afterwards, I was able to enjoy my room with a breathtaking view and the magnificent pool for two days. The breakfast buffet and the meals are excellent, and Madame takes great care of her guests. I can only recommend this place where the customer is still king.

20/10/2025: The atmosphere is nice, though a bit dirty and dusty, including the used glasses taken from the cupboard. The welcome needs reconsidering; the reservation was lost. We were given a menu with many courses, but only two of each dish because on a Saturday night they had sold out of almost every course. On a busy Saturday night, perhaps finishing the courses and desserts isn't acceptable. The food isn't excellent: the portions are small and not very tasty or flavorful. Two courses, water, and wine are $55 per person. Prices may need to be reviewed in light of all this.

11/10/2025: We had lunch here and had an incredible experience. We arrived a little prior to opening time but they were gracious and went ahead and seated us. Owner was nice and came over and explained the menu to us. We were seated on the back patio which was lovely. Food was delicious and our overall experience was absolutely perfect. Best meal and ambiance so far of our time in Lucca.

13/09/2025: Food was OK, service was OK, calculations were somewhat strange. Pizza was nice, seafood pasta was nice, but too salty to my taste. I asked for non alcoholic mojito and got this strange sweet liquid, no mint, no lemon, but had to pay as for the full alcoholic drink. Same with wine - smaller portion, but not the smaller price. Anyway, place was fine and not too crowded

10/09/2025: If you're looking for authentic Italian pizza then this is the wrong place. We chose this place because it had good reviews on Google, but it seems like the review might be fake. The pizza tastes like the frozen one that we can buy at supermarket. They have menu on the board on the street, but turns out the menu is completely different. So I ordered chicken, but didn’t expect this 😅. Good side is that the location is good.

13/11/2025: Passing by on Saturday morning, we tried this pastry shop, which has a display case full of delicacies. It wasn't the most impressive because it was packed with customers, and we found the only free table between two others quite close together. There's no table service. The prices are fair. The place was really noisy. The staff was busy, but unfortunately, it was stressful for me. You might be able to appreciate it all on other days/times, but on Saturday morning... NO.

05/08/2025: Welcoming place, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food. I've rarely tasted such high-quality fish, cooked to perfection. The side of tasty vegetables (not frozen) deserves special mention. I'll definitely be back.

03/08/2025: Good food, but unacceptable service. We ordered takeout at 8:00 PM, and the pizzas arrived 20 minutes later. While waiting, I heard other people complaining about the delays at their tables. If you can't serve everyone, you should inform your customers, not make them wait indefinitely.

19/10/2025: The tavern is mainly meat-based rather than fish-based, although you can also find some interesting fish dishes. In the meantime, make a reservation, otherwise you have to wait for a table to become available. Also, because it's always full, the atmosphere is a bit noisy. The Gran Antipasto Toscano was good, I would only have put 2 more slices of prosciutto crudo and mortadella (there were only 2 slices per slice), while there were 4 slices of salami. Apart from this, there were Coccoli (fried pizza bites) / crostini with mushrooms / crostini with chicken livers (the pâté should have been cooked more) / pappa al pomodoro / I had the stracchino added to the rest. The first courses are the best: pappardelle with wild boar with dark chocolate flakes and tortelli filled with leeks, on a pumpkin cream. A seasonal dish, which I hope to try again. The mixed grill: lamb ribs (good, but still too much fatty) sausage (cook it more, because it was pink inside) chicken and baked potatoes (these must be softer inside, not boiled) .. cheek (a little dry) with mashed potatoes (it was a bit sticky, mash the potatoes, don't use the mixer) .. you can see that the chef is young, because there are some things that could have turned out better, but even if the experience is lacking, the passion is there and you can always improve.. the extra virgin olive oil is exceptional.. put it on all the dishes..

18/08/2025: Good dinner, friendly staff. Pici with Chianina ragù was remarkable.

25/09/2025: The food was quite tasty. Pizza and stuffed foccacia. Everything was served quickly. A carafe of red wine added to the Tuscan atmosphere. A fun way to flush the toilet ;-).
