14/10/2025: It started well. Then it got really bad! A meal was completely forgotten, but it was added to the bill! Wouldn't recommend it!

14/10/2025: Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. The octopus starter was good. (See picture.) We waited about 50 minutes for the main course. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm and cold. I ordered three Cokes but never got a second one that evening. As always with these restaurants... The waiters don't care because the next tourists will be there eating tomorrow...

20/06/2025: A great bar with very nice staff. Both nights we were called in there was live jazz which sounded great! Highly recommend it for some good vibes and a fun time

14/04/2025: Unbelievable: We were there on the Monday before Easter and just wanted to have a quick drink before dinner. We were convinced by the student service and the owner to stay - and were rewarded with a free buffet of pasta, pizza, antipasti and many other delicacies. Every Monday, we were told, especially for students who have little money available. It was great, and of course we tried to pay for the meal with a tip. But three people were fed. 20 euros is hardly enough. People were indignant and resistance had to be overcome in order to show their gratitude. Especially since the drink prices are a laugh and there was also live music. I've actually never experienced anything like that. Crazy. Thank you.

28/09/2025: Ghost oysters, missing mussels, and the waiter blaming the kitchen... too bad he's the one who has to check the plates and the bills! Five waiters, total chaos. Avoid. "The owner should be on his guard."

25/09/2025: A feel-good atmosphere thanks to warm, authentic Mediterranean hospitality... Fresh fish (sea bream was butchered at the table), atmospheric music and melodic interludes with a dedicated DJ, an evening of non-stop culinary delights for a flat rate of €35, cheerful staff, attentive service even after closing time, and, to top it all off, a delicious homemade lemon sorbet as the crowning treat... We'd be happy to return!

30/08/2025: Excellent typical Palermo fried food, you will find meusa (spleen), panelle and cazzilli (croquettes) all delicious and made to order

28/08/2025: A very welcome stop for us every time we're in Palermo. Uncle Totò used to be number one, but today I was delighted to meet his wife and nephew. The latter even made us a porchetta sandwich that exceeded our expectations (worthy of Uncle Totò). Fantastic panelle. Highly recommended if you're in Palermo.

11/10/2025: Truly subpar food. Poorly fried panelle, overcooked pasta, and soggy eggplant rolls with a "mushy" filling. It's a shame for a place that bills itself as "popular cuisine since 1834."

11/10/2025: Panelle are good, but pasta with sardines is a no-no: you can only taste and see the fennel. Eggplant rolls are a no-no: the filling is tasteless, perhaps made with a Thermomix. How sad.

30/09/2025: The pizzas are delicious, the pizza chefs are excellent, the place is nice and the staff are friendly.

29/09/2025: We ordered takeout pizzas. Needless to say, the food arrived almost an hour after ordering (cold), after numerous calls to the restaurant, which arrogantly responded by saying they were already out. I've read other reviews complaining about poor delivery service, so I'm not the first.

17/10/2025: If you like pre-cooked pasta, this is the place for you, otherwise go elsewhere...

16/10/2025: I don't recommend it. We ordered a plate of ravioli and two focaccias. After a 20-minute wait, the four ravioli arrived with some kind of eggplant and tomato sauce. 15 minutes later, the focaccias arrived. I finished eating before the other dishes arrived. I asked for the bill, followed by another 20 minutes of waiting. I had to go to the counter to get a charge, and it turned out they didn't accept cards. I was finally able to pay by card, but they overcharged me. The service was terrible, and the food left much to be desired. Additionally, they charged me for table service when the menu doesn't mention it. We won't be returning, and I won't recommend it to my friends.

26/07/2025: Recommended by locals, it lived up to expectations. Good takeout, lasagna, and rotisserie chicken got top marks. But nothing compares to the arancini, simply sublime. The best I've had in I can't remember how long. Congratulations!

09/08/2025: Today, my wife and I had lunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere was both friendly and professional. We had four different types of pasta, and everything was truly delicious. Excellent value for money. Congratulations. If I get a chance, I'll also want to try the pizzas the owner raved about.

12/07/2025: A lovely restaurant with friendly staff and great food in a quiet location just down some steps from the main street. The baccala was really good! We will return.

11/07/2025: Abbiamo prenotato la cena è una volta arrivati il locale era chiuso! Che inseriscano gli orari/date dettagliate. Ovviamente è stato un vero disagio poi trovare altro posto dove mangiare alle 20:30 di sera.

18/07/2025: So, I've been sitting in this shop for an hour and still haven't gotten my food. As a tourist, you're a second-class guest, it seems. I'm invited and hoping for the best meal of my life, since the shop really isn't that busy, so a long wait would be justified. People who came after us are already leaving. I hate Italy.

07/07/2025: Nice restaurant with good service and a nice sea view. All 5 of us agreed that the pizza we were served was the best we have ever eaten👍👍

08/02/2025: Terrible experience, it doesn't reflect what is shown on social media, it's a real scam. Terrible service, as well as the food, shown on social media to be "large", a hamburger full of blood is brought to the table and served with 5 chips. Furthermore, to make the situation worse, the long wait, even though there were few customers. Finally, half of the ingredients on the menu were not there, significantly reducing the variety of choices. I don't recommend it if you don't want to spend money and then go hungry.

26/01/2025: Bhe inizierei parlando dell'attesa seduti alle 9.35 alzati a 00.20 in totale cerano una 20 di persone compresi noi tra cui un tavolo da 12 persone che aveva lo stesso menù sembrava. Abbiamo aspetta piu di un'ora per dei semplici antipasti che guardando video sull'applicazione sembravano gradevoli,ma invece erano vuoti insipidi e fatti senza una minima conoscenza della parola cucina. Pinse che erano orribili,panini che erano piccoli con patatine affianco che arrivavano fredde (8 patatine in croce parliamo) e che dire dell'amarissimo conto che in 8 abbiamo pagato 135 euro che sarebbe una giusta cifra se mangi bene e gradevolmente. Mai più,si chiama sbafo perché i soldi se li fanno a sbafo ma non per la qualità del cibo.

20/08/2025: A historic bar in Palermo, now a must-see in Piazza Restivo. From older customers to youngsters enjoying their first aperitifs, not many seem to be disappointed by the service and company offered at Bar Magnolie. Management has been consolidated for decades, and the staff is highly professional. Excellent value and outstanding cuisine.
