22/11/2025: We had the tasting menu and matching wines and every course and every wine was superb. They stick to local wines and foods and the preparation, presentation and taste were exceptional. I can see why Michelin rated them and I think they deserve a star. It was a quiet night hr but we were treated with good attention and the pace was excellent: not too fast or rushed. The highlight was probably the dish from locally foraged mushrooms: probably the best mushrooms I’ve ever had and that includes porcini and girolles. The umami was fabulous. To be fair each dish also went so well together that you felt this was a well curated menu with the richness increasing as you progressed: starting with a lightly marinated raw scampi dish and ending with a marscapone and jelly with carob wafers.
24/10/2025: A real treat - we managed to walk in without a booking in October and had some amazing food. Delicious natural wine, one of the best desserts I’ve ever had and really helpful, friendly service.

Especially the salmone al miele and the salad are made of low quality ingredients and nothing special. We saw some disappointed faces around us as well. Service is great, but the food needs some improvement.

07/11/2025: Today, November 7, 2025, our third day in Palermo, visiting the monuments of this fantastic city, we come across a delicatessen at Via Vittorio Emanuele 389 whose aromas can be felt even in the street. Over the past few days, we've often eaten fish at various restaurants in Mondello and on excursions in the surrounding area (Bagheria, Borgo Porrini, Monreale, etc.), and many other Sicilian specialties. We enter this delicatessen, observing its characteristic tavern-like decor, and meet a gentleman named Amedeo Palermitano DOC, who graciously welcomes us and seats us at a shared table (it's raining outside). The atmosphere is promising, and we're seated right in front of the large counter displaying all the shop's merchandise. Behind the counter, a young Sicilian woman named Teresa practically does everything herself (she actually has the help of a young man who only takes care of the after-dinner service, and her father Anedeo, who, kindly, despite a few aches and pains, delivers things to the tables and attends to the guests' needs). We carefully watch Teresa prepare and order a platter of cured meats and cheeses, along with other small items for the two of us. Amedeo, at our request, recommends the wine, and we order two glasses: a red for me and a white for my wife, both from fine Sicilian wineries. The platter arrives and is truly marvelous: 6 or 7 types of cheese of varying consistencies, from ricotta with citrus sauce to provolone stuffed with olives and chili pepper, through other spicy and not-so-unique cheeses. The cheeses are accompanied by equally varied cured meats, such as mortadella and mortadella with herbs, capocollo, fillet, a unique cooked ham, salami, and prosciutto crudo. In the middle of the platter were some delicious marinated green and black olives and a small plate of eggplant with sauce and celery, honey mushrooms, and sweet and sour marinated pumpkin. My palate was overwhelmed by a variety of original flavors, and the glass of wine enhanced them. I won't deny that I even ate all the bread in the basket. Amedeo is a man with extensive life experience (an overager like me), and with him we talked about the South and our shared dream of seeing a respected, autonomous South, aware of its artistic and historical values, and of people who can foster a sense of belonging. I noticed two of Amedeo's loves: his daughter Teresa, to whom he gazes with paternal love, and Santa Rosalia, whom she jealously guards in a small niche within the restaurant. Teresa, on the other hand, is the hub of the delicatessen, the industrious part of the shop, combining the combinations and intertwining of cured meats and cheeses, as well as small gastronomic dishes of Sicilian delicacies. He's very knowledgeable, even in running this shop, and his passion for this profession shines through. Aside from the culinary delights you shouldn't miss if you're passing through (very close to the cathedral, the royal palace, and the church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini and Santa Caterina—practically at the center of these monumental masterpieces), I had the pleasure of meeting two people of great depth, both in their simplicity and thorough professionalism. For those interested in the god of money, we spent only 20 euros each. Greetings to Teresa and Amedeo. Long live Santa Rosalia.

26/10/2025: I was planning to visit a different, highly rated Café, but after seeing loads of super loud people I decided to trust the comments and visit Del Corso... and I am SO grateful I did! Can you get any more Sicilian atmosphere than here? I don't think so! There were a lot of people, but everyone speaking quietly, no shouting. The owner made coffee in the beautiful manner showing perfectly that this is what he does, and he sure does it with love. The mountain of cups waiting for the washing time just showed how ICONIC this place is, and then the coffee... I ordered an espresso macchiato and a cornetto. The coffee was perfect blend, I absolutely love the smell and the taste. Cornetto was fresh and full of marmalade. The place is just like its menu - so simple, and hence so perfect. It immediately became my favourite breakfast spot in the whole Palermo. Grazie!

10/11/2025: This review is about the restaurant. We visited Casale Drinzi for lunch for the second time on Saturday, after having been there for dinner two years ago. It met my expectations with fast and friendly service. This time, we had a little girl just under two years old with us, who was promptly offered a high chair and a pasta dish with tomato sauce. We had two appetizers (carpaccio of picana and fried mushrooms with mayonnaise and truffle), two first courses (ravioli with pumpkin and artichoke cream, and a cacio e pepe with truffle). We then shared a second course (pork with herbs). A glass of wine each, plus water, liqueur, and coffee. All for €83. Everything was delicious; now I can't wait to return for the spring menu! The place is also easy to find, except that Google Maps, as usual, makes things a little complicated.
07/11/2025: Friendly and professional staff, a rustic and welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food featuring typical Collesano specialties made with quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. Great attention to food intolerances: the waiters ask each table if anyone has any allergies. The wine selection is delightful: a house-bottled Nero d'Avola that has obtained the DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) label, soooo good! Kudos to the owners for opening this wonderful pizzeria/restaurant. I highly recommend it; you'll thank me later!

We are traveling with 20 month old toddler, the stuff helped us to arrange the food for the kid. Pizzas are outstanding, second dishes very very tasty. The waiter Joseppe was absolutely the best, very friendly, polite, and helpful!

05/10/2025: Excellent octopus salad, excellent cod with Tropea onions, excellent Mediterranean-style swordfish. Fairly priced and top-notch staff (Tony and Alex are incredibly friendly, helpful, and courteous). Highly recommended if you're in Palermo and want a proper seafood dinner.

04/10/2025: Nestled in a charming corner of Piano Battaglia, this restaurant is a real surprise. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is perfect after a walk in the woods. The traditional and authentic dishes reflect the flavors of the mountains: fresh mushrooms, local cheeses, and delicious meats. A place you'll want to return just to savor those authentic flavors again. Highly recommended!

18/11/2025: The restaurant is known for its mushroom dishes. We also ate mushrooms here, but were disappointed with the taste; we had a better meal at another restaurant in Castelbuono. The service and atmosphere were okay, although we were brought the wrong bottle of wine. The restaurant has a good selection of wines, also available by the glass.
