18/10/2025: Amazing very reasonably priced seafood in a perfect location looking onto Pittulongu beach, with friendly, lovely staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I ended up having three meals there in one day: lunch: melt in your mouth tuna tartare with guacamole, followed by local fish ravioli in a delicious sauce thick soup style base. Later a coffee and fresh fruit snack - it was good to have fruit as an option on the menu and not just sweet options. Finally, dinner. I had seen the mixed seafood, veg and fish grill on Google reviews and it looked delicious so I had to try it, it certainly didn’t disappoint, and was thankfully not smothered in sauce but let the individual flavours speak for themselves. I also had the octopus starter, washed down with a refreshing local house white wine. The photos don’t do the food justice especially since in most cases I had already taken a few bites before I remembered to take a pic :) The price per person includes all the meals that I had not just one meal.

12/10/2025: I have filed a report with the Polizia di Stato regarding this incident. VISITORS — ESPECIALLY WOMEN — should be warned: this place does not respect basic human dignity, let alone hospitality. Do not come here if you expect respect or safety. I experienced one of the most humiliating and shocking incidents of my life at this restaurant in Pittulongu, Sardinia. This is a simple restaurant on a public beach. I walked in politely, intending to order some traditional dishes with drinks and sit quietly by myself. A waiter told me I could only be served if I put clothes over my swimsuit. That was perfectly fine — I respected the rule, walked all the way back to my sunbed, dressed fully in a long button-up dress, and came back ready to order. When I returned, the woman at the counter looked at me with contempt, refused to take my order, and laughed with her colleague. I calmly asked what the issue was. She spoke in Italian rudely, rolled her eyes, and said nothing clear. I then said, “If you’re not serving, I can just take away.” She snapped back, “No, no take away either.” Completely shocked, I asked, “Then why did you tell me to get dressed and come back?” She gave no answer, and called over another male staff member because she couldn’t speak English. The man approached me in an intimidating way — no apology, no explanation — just arrogance and hostility. Another toxic, hyper-masculine guy nearby began gesturing aggressively, almost threatening me physically. The restaurant was badly managed, short-staffed, and completely chaotic — yet pretending to be “high-end.” They were clearly uncomfortable with the fact that I was expecting basic courtesy and respect, so they chose to dismiss and humiliate me instead. The aggressive man stood too close, giving off threatening energy, and told me to go outside to “discuss” the problem. His only concern was saving face in front of customers. I refused and said: “You can explain yourself right here, in front of everyone.” At that moment, I realised this was not about service — this was pure discrimination and harassment through xenophobia. I was surrounded by Italian guests being served normally and treated with respect, while I — a solo female tourist from the UK — was treated like an intruder. The man continued to act aggressively, standing over me and speaking loudly to silence me. I felt physically unsafe and verbally humiliated. People around were watching, but no one intervened. I eventually left shaking and deeply distressed. Meanwhile, he was speaking in Italian to other guests, likely twisting the story to make me look at fault. Then another man — a complete stranger — came up and told me: “This is Sardinia. You are a guest here. You need to be respectful!” That moment said it all. They were defending their own discriminatory behaviour by shifting the blame onto me. I was verbally harassed, physically threatened, and clearly discriminated against — simply because I was a foreign woman. As a solo female traveller, I have never felt so degraded or unsafe in a supposedly civilized place. This was not a misunderstanding — it was xenophobia, gender-based discrimination, and verbal harassment in full view of everyone.

22/10/2025: A place where you can enjoy classic Piedmontese cuisine, also requesting off-menu variations. The service is courteous and discreet, offering recommendations when requested. I've been here several times and will definitely return. The location, just a few meters from the panoramic viewpoint, is noteworthy.

03/09/2025: Excellent lunch... simple and friendly service, where you immediately feel like you're among people, not just customers. Highly recommended, also purchasing wines from the wine shop. Top.

13/10/2025: Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations: the two of us ordered two appetizers (octopus salad and Catalan-style shrimp) and a "superior" (?) fried fish. They assured us they used only fresh products, so I won't contradict them. I will say, however, that the taste, on the palate, was that of frozen products, and not even prime quality. Several dishes on the menu were unavailable. The atmosphere was surreal: Friday evening (October 3rd), 9 pm, with Carloforte full, we were the only two tables for the entire dinner. Important fact: €97 for two appetizers, a main course, a still wine, and two glasses of white wine. Something to reconsider...

25/09/2025: Friendly staff, especially Sofia, who found the perfect table for us. The dishes were very good, although the appetizers were a bit small. However, with the appetizer, main course, and dessert, you'll leave feeling just the right amount full. The Vento da Ma white wine was excellent (recommended by the staff). The spaghetti with squid ink is the restaurant's specialty and certainly lived up to expectations. Reservations are recommended well in advance.

26/09/2025: We were just there at 4:30 pm and unfortunately it was closed. I don't know if it's already closed.... but we couldn't test it.

23/09/2025: Perhaps the ambiance puts many people off. It's not a traditional restaurant. But the food is delicious. Cooked with love. The pizza is delicious. We've had spaghetti with mussels, carbonara, and sometimes the eggplant. It was always delicious. And friendly.

23/09/2025: I stayed at the Tarthesh Hotel during a business trip and couldn't have been more pleased. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very comfortable, the restaurant is excellent, and the hotel itself is an oasis of peace thanks to the wonderful park surrounding it. Special mention goes to the staff: they are all extremely kind, always smiling, and ready to accommodate any need.

26/08/2025: Catastrophic experience – a hotel unworthy of its 4-star rating We stayed at this hotel in August 2025 and it was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience of our lives. ➖ Old rooms, bed made of two single mattresses pushed together (despite having been assured by email that it was a real king-size bed), no duvet (just sheets and a bedspread). ➖ A closed door connected to the next room: non-existent soundproofing, we could hear absolutely everything, even the sighs of other guests. ➖ Dilapidated pool, uneven and dangerous floor. ➖ No elevator: we were placed on the first floor with a 10-month-old baby and a stroller, despite having emailed us in advance that we needed one. ➖ Upon late arrival, no food service (unacceptable for a 4★ hotel): we were only served a plate of cured meats and cheeses. But the worst came at check-out. The amount (almost €2,000) exceeded the card's limit. We immediately made an instant SEPA transfer, with proof in hand. Despite this, the management deliberately hid this payment from the police when they called, holding us in the lobby for four hours as if we were criminals. Only after the police discovered for themselves that the payment had been made did they apologize... but the damage was done. We were even escorted to our car by a hotel employee as if we were thieves. 👉 This hotel is a collection of lies, serious shortcomings, unworthy facilities, and abusive practices. Absolutely avoid. It in no way deserves its 4 stars.

28/08/2025: perfect stop for lunch. we had the risotto of the day and the culurgiones: both cooked to perfection. friendly service and really reasonable prices. lovely and air conditioned inside. fixed menu of the day also seemed great!

26/08/2025: We stopped by for lunch at €15 per person, with friendly and attentive service. The full menu includes a choice of three first courses, three second courses, and two side dishes. I don't think you can expect more for €15.

30/09/2025: A good dinner without a reservation. Friendly and helpful staff quickly set up a table for four after 9 pm. Excellent wine list and a good menu selection. The location is very central, almost on the waterfront, but still with a good view.

14/10/2025: Stunningly beautiful hotel. Breakfast was well-prepared and everything was deliciously fresh. The evening meal was fantastic, and everything was freshly prepared. And the people who work there are super nice.

13/10/2025: A hotel with hidden charms. I stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. While I had to get past the decorum, it's certainly not unpleasant; the atmosphere is very homey. The rooms are spotless and the amenities are excellent. Of all the hotels I've stayed in on this island, the staff here are the most welcoming and approachable. This hotel is definitely recommended!

09/09/2025: Lovely place, disappointing food. They didn't have spaghetti or any other type of pasta to make with seafood or clams... basically, a restaurant without pasta. Only tortelli and tortelloni filled with seafood. The main course was limited in variety. This restaurant should be forgotten. Very expensive.

07/09/2025: The restaurant boasts a beautiful view that deserves more attention. The food was adequate but lacked any particular flair, and the ambiance could be improved with more refined decor. Overall, unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the price.

21/09/2025: Magnificent place, shame about the short-haired waitress. We were eating, we would have continued, but we wanted tuna tataki, and she wouldn't let us have it at the aperitivo tables, and all the tables were booked. It wouldn't have cost her anything, we would have stayed for more wine... but obviously they don't like making money here. Disappointed!

14/08/2025: Welcoming atmosphere, some unique furnishings that give it a touch of yesteryear. Friendly staff, exquisite food, everything from appetizers to desserts was delicious. One thing that struck me was the presence of "nunachelle" on the menu, which I really appreciated because it's a delicious dish that's hard to find, and the price was also fair. The tiramisu, made exclusively by them, was excellent; it's been a while since I've had one this good. They also have a huge variety of specialty pizzas, but above all, the dough is delicious. I recommend it!

15/07/2025: Excellent pizza, two notches above the average in the area. Good quality ingredients, well-crafted dough, and top-quality flours... and you can tell the pizza is made with passion, not to make money. Highly recommended.

12/10/2025: The pizza and restaurant are excellent. The staff are very friendly, and the Roman waitress is fun and friendly. An excellent choice!

12/10/2025: A friendly restaurant with excellent food. We visited twice: the first time we ordered two courses, the second time we ordered the "gigante" pizzas—they are truly enormous, delicious, and very reasonably priced. The multi-course meal was also authentic and a delight. The price for ordering multiple courses was also reasonable, especially compared to the more touristy restaurants in the center of Villasimius. The fact that locals eat at Santa Maria speaks volumes. Our dog was also welcome. Advance reservations are recommended. It gets very busy right away when it opens, but things relax later in the evening. Highly recommended!

08/09/2025: If you want to impress with excellent artisanal gelato in Cagliari, come here—you won't regret it. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take a photo of my Malaga cone, so ecstatic was I about its deliciousness. My heartfelt congratulations.
