26/06/2025: It's clear that its prime has passed, and it's now surviving on rent. The hotel is generally fine, but as you look at more details, its quality declines. For example, we only saw the pool bar open one out of three days, and at the breakfast buffet, you have to pay extra for something like an orange juice (the first time in 15 years that I've seen extras at the breakfast buffet, or even in Sardinia, where we stayed at three other hotels of similar quality). Overall, it's clear that the minimal care has been taken to maintain a certain level. Furthermore, its location in Guspini doesn't help the surroundings, as there's hardly anything to see or do. The hotel restaurant pleasantly surprised us with the quality of the food, but as with the hotel, certain details, such as the wrinkled tablecloths or the fact that there was only one waiter to serve all the tables, give a sense of a lack of quality.

"I haven't been there yet... but I already feel like I'm in heaven"
I haven't set foot in the Tartheshotel yet... but if a good day is a good day, I'm already on my honeymoon with this establishment! I just spoke with Cheline, a 24-year-old (twenty-four!) who already has a steady job, a gift for the gab and a tone that caresses your soul. She made me want to book 20 rooms just to call her back. Her professionalism disarmed me. Sweet, kind, precise. She listened to me while I told my whole story (from 1954 to today) and never interrupted. I felt the elegance through the phone. I imagined linen sheets, soft lights, and a queenly breakfast served with white gloves. I can't wait to go. But in the meantime, here are my 5 stars on trust. Cheline, remember: we'll talk soon... and get ready because I'll arrive with my makeup done and my suitcase full of expectations.

19/06/2025: The waiter was really friendly and helpful. He offered to make the pizza and spaghetti glutenfree, even though it wasn't on the menu. (He warned me that there could be contamination though. Only for me that's ok). I had a Quattro Stagioni and it tasted really good.
17/06/2025: Super delicious pizzas with exceptional toppings. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They even gave us travel tips. Highly recommended.

28/04/2025: We dine here frequently since it's in our neighborhood. Food is usually quite good, but the service does NOT match. In today's episode, I ordered the Niçoise Salad (no onions) and it came with onions but without a key ingredient - the eggs. When I asked the server about it he said he didn't know why. He didn't offer to make it right (either bring the eggs, or maybe discount the dish). For dessert, I ordered the brown butter apple cake with "sea salt caramel ice cream". It came to the table with a pink sorbet of some sort. I didn't eat the sorbet and when I asked the server he said "We actually don't have any ice cream today". Well why didn't he say that when I ordered??? He didn't seem bothered by it at all. Again he did not offer to make it right and he charged us full price for the dessert. Similar things have happened in the past and at times we've had to wait incredibly long to order (upwards of 30 minutes before anyone stopped by). One offs are no big deal, however it's happened frequently enough that I felt compelled to write it up today. DO BETTER! We love the food, atmosphere, and supporting a local black-owned restaurant. At least you brought the biscuits back! :)
26/04/2025: The restaurant itself has a nice vibe, however, the service is horrible and needs immediate training. Our server Cohen didn’t know about items in the menu and nor did go find out about the item I ask about. When I ask him what he recommends, he said the lobster roll but he didn’t know what kind of bread the lobster comes on. When we received our subpar food, Cohen didn’t do a two bite , four bite, six bite, or eight bite check back to check to see if we enjoyed our food which WE DIDN'T!!! . As a professional in the industry for more than 20 yrs serving tables and bartending Coen needs coaching on service and he needs a menu test.
Also, the branzino was sitting in the juices of the rice dish it accompanied. One side of the fish was seasoned. The other side had o seasoning bc it was washed away by the juices. They should have been served in two separate dishes. When we spoke to him about the concern, he apologized and said there was nothing that could be done. He should have escalated the concern to a manager because that was not a reassuring response.
The apple cake was good.

14/06/2025: Beautiful hotel with a great terrace, offering direct views of the mountains and the sea. Plenty of parking. The rooms are "okay" clean. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious.
10/06/2025: This small, quiet hotel is located on a hillside outside of Cardedu. Here, you'll find peace and quiet, and the beautiful beach is about a 15-minute walk away. Arbatax and Tortoli are easily accessible by car. There are also beautiful, expansive dog beaches in the area. Dogs are allowed in the hotel. The rooms are very clean and spacious; our bathroom was a good size. The staff and service are simply fantastic; very friendly, and every wish is fulfilled. We'd like to thank Marta, Kerstin, Zouhair, Ester, and all the others whose names we unfortunately don't know, like the kitchen staff and the lovely cleaning staff. The four-course dinner is very plentiful—often too much for some, but very tasty. The breakfast is extensive, but could be regularly refilled. All in all, a hotel we would happily recommend. We'll be back.

Il dolce risveglio

12/06/2025: Average experience in this nice place associated with the pastry shop next door. Nice paintings on the walls as well as wooden masks or two TVs offer the possibility of watching music programs, often in vision. The place has expanded more and more until it has two fairly large lounges where you can enjoy a good breakfast, a yogurt, a snack, an infusion with many flavors or a piadina or a sandwich or one of the many other choices available. The wait can sometimes be annoying but for us it was quite short. The mocha with cream and Nutella was really good and tasty while the crunchy yogurt with cereals also deserved applause. The prices are normal, while a greater participation of the staff would be great. Today the water in a plastic cup seems to me a low quality service.
12/05/2025: Pizzetta (capers and anchovies) priced slightly higher than the average in the Cagliari 'neighbourhood' - €1.50 compared to the usual €1.20 - but really delicious. I discovered it was their own production; they are also the owners of the pastry shop next door.
The coffee, at €1.20, put both soul and wallet in agreement. Because if the pizzetta was delicious, the coffee is one of the best I've had (without sugar, of course) in 2025. And I know about that.
I had already got into the car, but the yolk of doubt - the one that stays on your palate and in your mind - made me turn around. I got out and asked the barmaid what the brand was. I wondered if her gracious friendliness had affected the preparation.
The interior design of the dining area - yes, they even do a lunch menu at a great price of €10! - did not convince me: modern and somewhat anonymous, where the wood fails to give the warmth one expects, especially in a space dedicated to dining.
On the other hand, the old leather sofas outside (they look like they were just used by Sherlock Holmes), protected by the glass window, are true poetry.
And the coffee counter at the entrance - again in wood - is majestic: it takes you back a little to the 1900s, when entering a café was a small event, an important gesture in the day.
I wonder if they chose two different architects... because the dining area deserves to be on a par with the counter and the outdoor space.
The smoking area, again between the sofas, is an obvious act of civilisation: by now, many cafés seem to have forgotten who smokes.
The barista, with black glasses and a Sardinian accent, was polite to my every question about prices and wore a wonderful, sincere smile the whole time.
Sometimes, at certain times of the year, I wear 'elegant poverty' - and I have to ask for prices in order to still allow myself the privilege of a good coffee.
On my way out, I discovered that this café is just a few metres from the main square of Iglesias!
So its prices, absolutely popular, are a declaration of respect and love for the traveller.
So, if you are a tourist and find yourself in this area, I advise you from the heart: before visiting Pan di Zucchero, come here.
Unfortunately, there are more dreamy beaches in Sardinia (thanks to nature alone) than unforgettable cafés (thanks to the talent and work of the people behind the scenes).
The name of the café, Dolce Risveglio, could not have been more apt: it really is the right place when you need to stop and reawaken your senses in order to get going again.

14/01/2025: It's not my habit to leave reviews on the places I frequent, but this time I'm making an exception. We went to this pizzeria in December to celebrate a birthday, and after a lot of research and many closed places (it was a Monday evening) we decided to enter La Sosta, which we had never been to before. Clearly the place was a bit empty given the season, but we were really amazed by the goodness of the pizza, I think the best I've eaten in the city so far! Super generous size and seasoning, perfect cooking and extremely light and digestible! Incredibly knowledgeable pizza chef! The staff were kind and attentive, I think we will return often. A nice discovery, congratulations!!!😊
