17/03/2026: I happened to stop at this bar in the square, in the historic center of Monteparano, and the experience was truly positive. The atmosphere is clean, quiet, and well-kept—one of those places where you're happy to sit and immediately feel at ease. The products are very good, with a wide selection to satisfy a variety of tastes, from breakfast to aperitifs. The staff is a real strength: friendly, knowledgeable, fast, and always available. Even with several customers, the service remains efficient and organized. I stopped in for breakfast, but it's clear that the place is also very popular for aperitifs and social gatherings throughout the day. I know the owners, and it's fair to say so, but that doesn't change my opinion: the quality is clearly visible and perceptible. If you're passing through Monteparano, it's definitely a recommended stop. A bar that stands out and is one of the best spots in town.

28/05/2026: Rave rave rave rave review. If you want Taranto family style meals, eating like an actual local this is the place. 15 dollars, no real limit on food but be respectful, great option for food. My recommendation is go as soon as they open, because the food is family style and it's first come first served. There is no menu. There is no actual sign that says this is La Piccola Locanda. There's a husband as a waiter and maybe a daughter of the woman at the counter. That's it, nothing else. Restaurant was PACKED on a Thursday at 130. We were lucky to get a table. Stuffed peppers were my absolute favorite, probably the tastest thing I've have had in the south so far. Really felt like I was in a family dining room. Vibe was just beyond casual. Come hungry, leave happy. Simple casual, great food at phenomenal price points.

09/08/2026: The location is truly spectacular, probably the restaurant's best asset: a beautiful place that deserves a worthy experience. Unfortunately, however, the service and cuisine didn't even begin to live up to the beauty of the place. The menu is extensive and offers several interesting options, but the service management was truly disappointing. We specifically requested two dishes as appetizers, but the choices were different than those requested. Furthermore, the main courses arrived one at a time, even half an hour apart, and in a completely random order. It was virtually impossible to eat together or follow a proper order during dinner. The bill was generally in line with the location, but a €5 cover charge per person is definitely a shame when the service is of this level. It's a real shame, because the location has enormous potential. With more organized service, significantly faster turnaround times, and greater attention to the dishes and customer requests, it would be a completely different experience. For now, however, the beauty of the place isn't enough to make up for the numerous shortcomings in the service.

09/08/2026: A decidedly disappointing experience, especially considering the value for money. We had booked well in advance and specifically requested a table on the cliff. Our request was confirmed, so we expected to actually find that table. Upon our arrival, however, we were assigned one of the most remote and least pleasant tables in the room, completely different from what we had agreed upon. The location is certainly charming and charming, but unfortunately that's pretty much the only positive aspect. The service was terrible and inattentive, the food average, nothing that even remotely justifies the prices. Honestly, for the quality, you'd eat much better at a good trattoria. The bill was completely disproportionate: €170 for two for an appetizer, a first course, and a bottle of Prosecco. Such a price would be understandable given the quality of the food, the service, and the overall experience. Prices of a high-end restaurant, but the experience definitely wasn't up to par.
