10/04/2026: Best restaurant in Taranto for fish...and excellent wines

28/03/2026: We visited the restaurant on the recommendation of local friends. The setting is very refined, and the atmosphere is delightful. Anyone who enters with expectations for the dishes will leave satisfied. Our choice fell on appetizers and first courses; it was difficult to choose just one, but the cacio e pepe risotto with shrimp and the long pasta with clams certainly exceeded our expectations. Excellent wine selection and good service, with a special mention to Maria, who guided us in choosing the dishes and wines for our dinner.

16/03/2026: My friend and I were there on Saturday night. We waited 30 minutes for a table due to the influx of people. They seated us, and to get the menu, we had to scan the QR code on the table, a little wooden number. The QR code always directed me to a Facebook page, which I couldn't open because I don't have Facebook. I called the waiter about the problem and wanted a paper menu, but he told me there weren't many paper menus, as other people were looking at them before us. So I waited another 15 minutes, and in the end, they brought it to me, all greasy and sticky with I don't know what... oh well! We ordered 2 crudaiola pizzas and 2 colas to drink. The white-crust pizzas arrived with all the cold toppings on top. I called the waiter for an explanation because I ordered CLASSIC PIZZAS from the menu, NOT WHITE PIZZAS. He replied that the crudaiola is like this (then make a menu with red-crust and white-crust pizzas). It's a confusing menu. Then he told me if he wants we can change it, but he has to take this one home. And he has to pay for it. I ate everything on top of the pizza, the base was bland, rubbery, and very cold. A gelato pizza was an obscenity. Catalog the pizzas better and give them the right description. NEVER AGAIN...

28/10/2025: Wonderful location. I've been there several times, both for dining and for a club night in August. Not least, a 40th birthday party. Everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

18/10/2025: Wedding in October. Thanks to the beautiful weather, the organization was impeccable, overseen by the owner. The food was excellent, the dishes were beautifully arranged, and the staff was professional, attentive to detail and the guests' needs. All in a fantastic location. Everything was magnificently perfect!!!

26/11/2025: I celebrated my birthday, big candles. Excellent food, good service 👏☺️. I recommend it without a doubt.

14/11/2025: A very hidden place... hard to find... you have to know it to go there... New and very nice location. I was a guest and we had a few appetizers, nothing special... I really enjoyed the baked caciocavallo with bruschetta. The sgagliozze are a real treat as soon as you sit down, very good. The platter is poor and not exceptional... I don't recommend it. The pizza is nothing special... I'm used to high quality, honestly. Overall, it's a great compromise... I'm always telling the truth. Update...I came back, the pizza was very good, but I didn't like that they charge you €2 for each ingredient if you create your own pizza, and maybe they don't have anything extra compared to the €8/9 ones already on the menu!!! I'm always telling the truth.

29/03/2026: We stumbled upon it by chance, as musicians always on the move with no clear destination. At Trattoria del Buongustaio, we found exactly what you'd hope for after a long tour. The horsemeat chop? Simply superb. Tender, flavorful, cooked to perfection... one of those dishes that makes you stop for a moment, look around, and think, "Okay, we have to come back here." TOP TOP!!!!

09/12/2025: Excellent home cooking. Spectacular handmade orecchiette. Exceptional horse meat chop. Reasonable prices. Good appetizer. We'll be back to try other dishes.

27/03/2026: We were there today, March 27, 2026. Welcoming place. The lady and her staff were wonderful. Everything was delicious, and the Primitivo wine was excellent.

24/03/2026: Very good local food and beverages directly at the seaside. Seafood is super fresh and prices are absolutly fair. Kind service and super ambiente.

13/04/2026: Just having a good pizza isn't enough. The tables are packed together, trying to exploit every space, creating a chaotic atmosphere. The service is rushed: at some tables, pizzas arrived while they were still eating their appetizers.

12/04/2026: Finally, a real pizzeria with top-quality ingredients. It's located in a beautiful area of ​​Trani, on the seafront where you can park your car. It's my second time back, with great pleasure. Reservations aren't possible on Saturdays, but the wait is less than half an hour. The staff, besides being extremely kind, is very attentive to the customer's needs. I ordered the pizza, NEL BLU DIPINTO DI BLU: Mozzarella made from buffalo milk from Campania DOP, 18-month-old Parma ham DOP, Blu cheese made from buffalo milk DOP, orange compote, and extra virgin olive oil. That distinctive orange flavor made the pizza even better, and for dessert, a delicious tiramisu. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it.

10/03/2026: Delicious food! My family and I loved it and ate here every day during our stay in Alberobello. When it's busy, the staff might take a while to serve or take your order, but it's totally worth it. A culinary gem. Recommended for families, and also for those who enjoy good wine.

09/04/2026: A lunch that left a bad taste in our mouths... The waiter ripped us off by €8 on one of the two pizzas. We checked the website later that evening, and the Buffalo pizza was charged at €18... instead of €10! Outrageous! Check your bill carefully before paying.

Let me start by saying that Squarciolla pizzeria and restaurant is a very welcoming place, enhanced by the friendliness, kindness, and professionalism of the owner and the highly qualified staff, who work tirelessly and never lose a smile. The food is carefully selected and impeccably prepared. The quality and price are reasonable. We'll definitely be back!

12/04/2026: First and probably last experience at this place. The pizza was really good, the wait was short. The problems started to arise when we decided to order tiramisu. More than tiramisu, it was an alcoholic dessert; you couldn't taste anything except the ice chips from the still-frozen ladyfingers. To make matters worse, as soon as we left the place, we started feeling sick, with stomach aches and nausea. Two days have passed, and the symptoms still haven't improved. We had come for a quiet evening, certainly not for food poisoning.

12/04/2026: We went to this pizzeria on Friday evening: the pizza was good, no complaints there, but unfortunately the rest of the experience was terrible. We ordered tiramisu, and the ladyfingers were completely frozen, tasting of ice and overly strong liqueur—anything but a real tiramisu. The biggest problem, however, came immediately afterward: we both started feeling sick, with severe stomach pain and nausea, before we even left the restaurant. Today is Sunday, and we're still feeling sick. We paid to feel sick, and that's unacceptable. Food quality and safety should be a top priority. An experience not to be repeated, for goodness' sake. Update in response to the owner: Dear Sir, If you had read carefully, you would have noticed that I never mentioned "food poisoning" in my review, but simply reported what happened. I acknowledge your apology for the tiramisu, which confirms what I reported. However, since this is a dessert with delicate ingredients like eggs and mascarpone, improper thawing can affect not only the quality but also the safety of the product. Bringing in a virus without any evidence, especially in a public response, is inelegant: it seems more like an attempt to defend oneself than to understand the problem. My intent is not to defame, but to report a real experience. The pizza was very good, but I hope what happened can help improve the service!
