It is all about the food. Perfection! The staff provided fast service and explained our food choices. We felt appreciated.

I had higher expectations. The service was certainly attentive, and the staff were friendly and unobtrusive, but the menu was limited, with decent quality and small portions. I found some dishes quite salty (such as tartare), and some of the combinations didn't satisfy me at all.

Excellent quality fish specialties. Professional service, although the waits are long.

Good food although very bad service and, to top it off, expensive. Very slow. Other strange things were that they had run out of beer and milk to make a cutlet. Inexplicable in a restaurant of the category it claims to be. Finally, watch what you order. My frit de calamaris i gambes only had calamari. When I asked where the gambes were they wanted to make me believe that it was only calamari. Maybe they thought that because I wasn't Italian I didn't understand the menu. In short, not at all recommendable.

Best restaurant in Taranto for fish...and excellent wines

We visited the restaurant on the recommendation of local friends. The setting is very refined, and the atmosphere is delightful. Anyone who enters with expectations for the dishes will leave satisfied. Our choice fell on appetizers and first courses; it was difficult to choose just one, but the cacio e pepe risotto with shrimp and the long pasta with clams certainly exceeded our expectations. Excellent wine selection and good service, with a special mention to Maria, who guided us in choosing the dishes and wines for our dinner.

A special evening...and it became even more so thanks to Gatto Rosso.... pampered by super-friendly yet truly professional staff in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Exquisite, meticulously prepared dishes...from grilled calamari in a cacio e pepe sauce to amberjack with seasonal vegetables. Dessert...a true delight. A good selection of wines, and what can I say about the botrytized wine...truly sublime. A highly recommended place.

I returned after a few years and left satisfied. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff friendly. I appreciated the attention to wait times. In my case, alone, I was given priority over more demanding tables. The fish is fresh and the dishes are generous. The mixed antipasto is worth it; it would be enough on its own. There are some risky options, like the strawberries with a side of shrimp, which I honestly didn't understand. For the main course, I would have lightened the grilled calamari with a generous accompaniment of diced peppers. I would leave more room for the fish, without overshadowing it too much. The wine selection is good. In any case, it's a place to go with confidence and avoid any surprises. Highly recommended.
