13/08/2025: My expectations were a little higher since it's a historic Mottarone restaurant. Aside from the menu, which I'd give just a 5. As for the actual restaurant, which is a mountain hut, well, it needs a minimum of cleanliness. Dirty windows are fogged up by dust. It's a shame, but the view is worth it.

12/09/2025: A very bad experience at the Verbano restaurant. A bill of €315 for two (€240 without wine), a lack of "good" taste. The tomato sauce on the risotto was heresy, too strong, the same for the slices of veal (ham-style) with tuna rillettes (not a good combination at all), a microscopic tartare, tiny pasta (one tablespoon), and a "trout" (three small pieces cut into small pieces) (a disgrace). Although the servers were friendly and the view was beautiful (that's why I gave it two stars), it didn't make up for it. The taste was horrible, the portions were tiny, and the price was very high. I don't recommend it!

06/09/2025: Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location... Breakfast is unfortunately a bit monotonous; some fresh fruit (except for 2-3 apples) and alternatives to fatty sausages and cheeses would have been appropriate...especially since there's a professional kitchen. There's plenty of room for improvement there. You should also be aware that in the evenings, after the day-trippers have left, few things are still open on the island...but a few nights there are definitely very relaxing...

06/09/2025: Rude staff, the place was almost empty, and we had to wait an hour for a cutting board to be brought. After an hour, the cutting board arrived, and after 30 minutes of waiting for bread, which never arrived, we ate the cutting board without bread. It was disgusting, and we even paid the bill for the bread, even though we hadn't eaten it. The prices were too high, so I wouldn't recommend it. I'll never go there again. I give it 1 star, which is too much.

22/08/2025: If you're looking for an excellent seafood restaurant in Stresa, Il Clandestino is a must-visit! The ingredients are top quality and the fish is incredibly fresh. We started with the yellowtail sashimi with Pantelleria capers and sea fennel, a true dive into the sea: the aromas alone take you to the shore, and the taste is simply outstanding. The other dishes maintained the same high standard of freshness and skill from the chef. For dessert, an exceptional tiramisu. The chef is the true captain of the restaurant, expertly guiding both the kitchen and the dining room. Prices are slightly on the high side but completely in line with the quality offered. Highly recommended! If you are looking for an excellent fish restaurant in Stresa, Il Clandestino is a must! The raw materials are of the highest quality and the fish extremely fresh. The first course, amberjack sashimi with Pantelleria capers and sea fennel, was a true dive into the sea: the aromas recall the shore, and the flavor was simply excellent. The other courses also confirmed the same standard of freshness and the chef's skill. To conclude, an exceptional tiramisu. 22/08/2025: Very rude and mean. Do yourself a favor, do not dine here. There were plenty of restaurants out there that you would get much better food and SERVICES.

09/09/2025: Unfortunately, the tip was very disappointing. We only got dry bread, no oil, and no pepper or salt. The grilled vegetables were completely unseasoned, and the fries had no sauce. My fish also came without sauce, even though the menu said otherwise. The staff were rather bored and not particularly friendly. I can't recommend this restaurant, and we came here specifically for this. Sorry!

29/08/2025: Here, the gap is wide between expectations and reality. Price and performance are completely out of proportion. The food was good, but since I didn't want anchovies, beetroot, or gorgonzola in my meal, I opted for a "salad": one mozzarella, three red tomatoes, and three yellow cherry tomatoes for a reasonable €18. I wouldn't call that a salad. The "boss" was running around with a face in his face. One waiter smelled of sweat. The toilets were so-so. The flush didn't work reliably. The soap was empty. That was the most expensive evening, but we've had better, more affordable (not cheaper) meals and enjoyed the evening with excellent service.

16/07/2025: A sophisticated cuisine, don't hesitate to mix and match your dish; the condiments and sauces are refined. The staff is very attentive and quick to resolve any minor incident. Piedmontese dishes and refined cuisine.

12/08/2025: Terrible experience. I went there about two weeks ago for two coffees and a decaf cappuccino, and the man charged me €7. The receipt listed it as ice cream. I find that shameful.
