20/12/2025: A very cozy bar with friendly and welcoming service. We had a glass of white wine and were served an aperitif platter. The place is very unassuming. We would definitely come back.

14/03/2026: I ate a €16.50 cutlet (Liubianska, I think) and it was INEDIBLE; it was basically a poor-quality cordon bleu, with tough pieces inside, and a couple of fries on the side. It's absurd and unfair to charge this amount for a breaded cutlet made from mechanically separated meat from a discount store. I'll report the incident to federconsumatori.

09/03/2026: Women's Day 2026, a ruined evening. I decided to take my wife to dinner. As soon as we sat down, we were asked to order drinks. I had to say twice that we needed to decide what to eat first. My wife's pizza was very elastic, my fish gratin was soggy and had a strange taste. The waiter sent it back, saying it wasn't good, but that could happen. The final straw came when I went to the cashier. The cashier, who I think was also the manager, gave me the bill with complete indifference. I got the impression that the important thing was to collect my money. I'm their customer, but they'll never see me again.

27/02/2026: We spent a truly wonderful Saint Valentine’s evening at La Colombetta in Como, and it was an experience we will not forget. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and perfectly suited for a special occasion. The seafood was outstanding—extremely fresh and prepared with precision and respect for the ingredients. I ordered the turbot, which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a delightful, well-balanced sauce that enhanced the natural flavor of the fish without overpowering it. My wife chose the sea bass, and it was equally impressive—delicate, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service deserves special recognition. It was extremely professional yet genuinely friendly, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion. The twin sisters together with their mother form a true dream team—coordinated, passionate, and clearly dedicated to offering guests an exceptional dining experience. For anyone looking for refined Sardinian cuisine in Como, especially for a romantic evening, La Colombetta is an absolute recommendation.

25/02/2026: Excellent food, but it's the soul of the place that makes the difference. The paella is exquisite and the meat is superb!!! Matteo and his partner make you feel like guests more than customers: he's down-to-earth, friendly, and like one of the family. We left with a smile and a free bag of herbs for our herbal tea, a truly thoughtful touch. Definitely book a table to enjoy this carefree experience. We'll definitely be back.

28/01/2026: I used to come here often in the late '90s; I had an office nearby. I rediscovered them last year, by chance, and I return every now and then. They're incredibly friendly, even when it's crowded, a rarity in Como. Always the best, the authentic piadina that the competition that has emerged in the meantime can only dream of.

07/03/2026: A 15-minute easy walk through the woods takes you to the cabin. It can also be reached by car, but make sure you have a suitable vehicle. We tried the main courses, and they didn't disappoint: well-seasoned and flavorful. The view from the terrace will make for a wonderful lunch.

05/08/2025: We had a reservation, but when we arrived, the restaurant was packed and in total disarray. We waited inside for more than 30 minutes as the owner, clearly drunk, stumbled around the space, shouting, slamming chairs, and behaving aggressively toward both staff and guests. It created an atmosphere that felt more chaotic than welcoming. The staff seemed exhausted, trying hard to manage the situation, but it was clear they were being pushed to their limits. People come here expecting a nice evening and spend good money to enjoy the experience, but instead, what we got was stress and tension. By the end of the meal, the owner sat outside with a woman (possibly his wife) and began speaking loudly, and bizarrely. As Spanish speakers, we understood some of what he was saying, and it only added to the discomfort. She remained completely silent, which made the whole scene feel even heavier. We had read some reviews hinting at this kind of behavior, but seeing it firsthand was something else. It feels like the owner has given up on managing the place with care. The food might still attract people for now, but if this continues, the restaurant won’t last much longer. So sad.

05/08/2025: We came to this restaurant due to the reviews, expecting something special. Expecting a top restaurant in Como, something we would remember for a long time. We ended up meeting an owner who appeared to be drunk and had problems understanding every single word in English or French, even though he was bragging that he speaks 10 languages. Furthermore, he lacked articulation/understanding even in Italian, as we were also very fluent Italian speakers. However, we managed to have a table, which was very poorly decorated, as was everything else in the restaurant. We ordered food and when asked, due to our manners we said that everything was alright, as our intention was to eat peacefully, drink a bottle of wine and leave. But that was not true, the food was nothing special. Then, the owner kept bragging about how his restaurant was the best in Como and how the food was of super quality, which in fact was as regular as eating at a gas station, not at someplace considered fine dining. He also offered us some glasses of 0.15 ml of Prosecco (a bottle worth 2 euros), telling us later how no one in Italy offers and is generous like him. In reality, in every fine dining in Italy everyone offers Prosecco. Anyhow, we tried to see him as an entertainer, as someone who is trying to make a euro, even tried to understand his style of communication, but it was really hard. He was approaching us as if he were a billionaire with the mentality of the 18th century. In the end, we paid 112 euros, for an antipasti, two other dishes and a bottle of wine, in an environment suffocated by tables, with an interior that looked like a fast-food or a kebab place, even though I have the most respect for fast food and kebab places due to their honesty. As a person who loves to eat, enjoy wine and has a lot of experience in outdoor eating, I honestly need to say that this is a tourist trap, and would not suggest anyone eating here. Even a burger at McDonald’s or a meal at supermarkets in Italy are more worthy. In the end, I would respect the effort of the servers who were extremely professional and polite, probably the best ones we encountered during our two-week stay in Como. However, they deserve better. In the end, I would say: save your money, do not go there.

12/03/2026: Only reason I gave it 4 stars vs 5 was the fact that it currently is under construction. Otherwise it is a large villa by the lake with a large garden area to walk around.

17/01/2026: In my experience, the place is very poorly organized. To get a dish, you have to wait about 10 minutes... I arrived at 12:00 and left at 1:46. An hour and a half for exactly 7 dishes... I don't recommend it.

07/01/2026: The service was disappointing and slow, starting with the fact that you can only order three dishes per person, but only if you order them directly from the waitress. We also had to ask several times to order the next portion, and each time the waitress called her colleague to take the order. Relatively fast, but the first round of dishes arrived cold. The quality wasn't excellent, and the menu itself included many dishes that cost extra, which are included in the dinner price, and it wasn't always clear that the dish had an extra cost (we went for a holiday lunch). In the end, we didn't eat much, and the quality wasn't great. There was a long wait to order, then a wait for the dishes we'd ordered, and then another wait for the waitress to arrive to take the next round of orders. Not to mention the tables were dirty and caked on at 12:30.
