20/01/2025: This is the worst gelato I've ever had. It had zero flavor - it just tasted generally sweet and cold, but no coffee flavor, no chocolate favor, nothing. I can't count how many times I've been to Italy because my husband used to live there and I used to visit frequently when I lived in Europe. We have been all over Italy from the North at Como to Naples and never had a bad gelato. Some better than others, but none bad. This was so bad I threw it out. I'm an ice cream addict, so that is unheard of for me, but it just had no flavor and wasn't worth the calories. We too were drawn in by the location, as we were coming off the ferry walking to our car and this was right in the right spot. Don't be fooled, go elsewhere for gelato with flavor. This will be a waste of your money. I wish I'd checked reviews before I got suckered in by the location.

29/03/2025: Agriturismo scoperto per caso, location immersa nel verde, con ampio parcheggio. Abbiamo condiviso un antipasto di salumi e formaggio davvero ottimo, accompagnato da una giardiniera fatta in casa. Abbiamo poi scelto due tagli di carne differenti, molto buoni, la tagliata era di carne delle loro bestie. Abbiamo chiuso con un ottimo dolce, anzi super dolce, sempre fatto in casa. Ci torneremo sicuramente.

17/03/2025: Penso di non aver mai mangiato così poco e bevuto così male. Porzioni ridicole. Dopo un antipasto che definirei normale arriva un bis di primi: tre cucchiai di risotto, buono, e quattro (4) tortiglioni, o quel che erano, al ragù di cinghiale che, definire dal gusto particolare, è un complimento. Secondo: un ganassino in umido posato su uno strato invisibile di polenta che pensavo sarebbe arrivata a parte, visto che ci ho messo qualche secondo a vederla nel piatto... Il vino? Bonarda o barbera. Avrei bevuto bonarda, ma dopo aver assaggiato questa cosa acida in caraffa che probabilmente ha visto diversi tavoli in diversi giorni, ho optatato per il barbera, il meno peggio. Il tutto ad un prezzo veramente esagerato. Se fosse costato 30/35 euro probabilmente avrei soprasseduto, ma con i prezzi che hanno direi, che sono più adatti ai tanti clienti svizzeri con le tasche gonfie che li visitano. Bella la location con animali e le sale, ma è tutto lì: una trattoria con piatti pretenziosi, scarsi e costosi

28/12/2024: Cambio di location ma Babi è sempre Babi. Mi è mancata tantissimo in questi mesi di chiusura per cambio locale. Sono andata con mia figlia ed un suo amico per una cioccolata calda. Io e Luca abbiamo preso la classica mentre mua Rebecca quella bianca che da Babi è rosa: entrambe sempre buonissime. La location non è più tutta rosa come quella della vecchia ma ha mantenuto l'arredamento del locale a cui è subentrata: elegante con tavoli di legno, poltroncine e divanetti. Vendono anche abiti. Devo tornarci al più presto con mio marito che adora la cioccolata di Babi che, per noi, è la migliore in tutta Como.

27/12/2024: Mi spiace fare questa recensione ma il locale è cambiato completamente da quando si è trasferito cambiando completamente le origini. Il bar sembra un negozio, infatti si può acquistare l'arredamento, idea particolare. Peccato perché il vecchio Babi era tutto rosa, più grande e fantastico!

17/04/2025: Nice location, but it was a terrible experience. Beyond the prices which are quite high for the center of Como, the pizzas, although good, come from another restaurant which is located on the other side of the road. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired... out of 4 glasses 3 were dirty, covered 5 euros each, without bread, since we actually ate pizza, 14 euros for a deviled pizza and 20 euros for a gourmet pizza. Very expensive wines from 37 euros a bottle! And 10 euros for a glass of white wine. Friendly but absent and unprofessional staff. In short, I would say a trite tourist. I absolutely don't recommend it.

17/04/2025: Visit in mid-April, family of a couple with two daughters. The restaurant is located in a winning area, Alessandro Volta Square in Como. 1. Beautiful atmosphere with excellent location. 2. The food was fine, I didn't fall out of my chair, but definitely fine. We took a pizza that died a shell, pasta Cacio e Pepe which was wonderful, and sea bass with seafood and oysters, mediocre, a really weak dish. In addition to a very fine Tuscan wine. 3. Excellent service, courteous and kind staff. 4. Very expensive prices.

01/04/2025: Very good for aperitivo. We had one godmother and one aperol and they were delicious. They also served as some snacks during happy hour

30/03/2025: I wanted to drink a coffee at the counter…. They almost laughed at me and told me I should have sat down. Obviously I changed location where I didn't have any problems.

29/03/2025: Ciao ieri mi sono fermato a mangiare a mezzogiorno e devo dire che sono rimasto basito per la qualità del menù del giorno a 13 euro penne al salmone non erano male ma i calamari fritti facevano veramente pena per non dire altro 12 anelli di calamari che assomigliano a guarnizioni del bagno e 50 grammi di patate fritte che non erano male ma scarse ero uno dei primi clienti arrivati e comunque a in totale al massimo 25 persone non ci sono scuse non mi vedranno mai più questa è ristorazione di livello bassissimo sono stato servito dalla titolare Maria probabilmente non si rendono conto di cosa servono .

19/12/2024: Ci siamo fermati per una pizza, in questo ristorante dove sappiamo che la capo sala o gerente può essere molto " spigolosa". La mia pizza Margherita ha, purtroppo, un retrogusto acido. Dopo aver chiesto conferma anche a mio marito la chiamo: sottovoce per non metterla in imbarazzo e in modo gentile le spiego il problema. Lei non accetta minimamente mi risponde sbraitando che stasera ha fatto tante pizze, che nessuno si è lamentato e che è impossibile che la pizza non sia buona. Devo insistere sempre gentilmente per farla portare via e comando un altro piatto. Lei è molto infastidita la vedo poi confabulare con il pizzaiolo il quale mi manda sguardi severi. Al momento di pagare, di nuovo in modo molto aggressivo mi dice che la pizza non me la fa pagare ma che comunque non ho ragione perché la pizza era buona. Quando sempre gentilmente le dico ok ma che non tornerò più mi risponde di fare come voglio.

09/03/2025: I was there this morning, for the first time. It had hit me from the outside and I decided to stop. Overall I had a good time: friendly and helpful staff, good food and clean facilities. I took a mini pastiera (€2), a coffee, an Ischia chocolate brioche (€2.5) and a juice and spent a total of €10.50. The pastas are very good! I was then surprised to see that it only had 3 stars: it deserves more.

31/03/2025: It is one of the best pizzas in the area. 8.60 euro per pizza with spice salami, 6 euro per pizza margarita. Expensive beverage, soda costs 3 euro!

09/03/2025: Lavoro nel centro commerciale e la maggior parte delle volte prendiamo il caffè da bere in negozio e non c'è giorno dove io riesca a bere un caffè macchiato che non sia caffè latte. Una cosa indecente!! per poi pagarlo anche 1,30. CI sono state tante volte dove per principio sono tornata indietro per farmelo rifare. Da oggi basta. Pessimi!

26/12/2024: Let's keep in mind that I usually go to get bread from them (even if the prices of bread are quite high). Since I needed milk in addition to bread, I bought a liter of milk, at a cost of €2.30 per litre!!!! Furthermore, in the small fridge where I got the milk (with an expiry date after (7 days) there were other packages that had already expired. 🙄 I can find the same brand at Bennet at the same price but in 1.5 liters with a much longer shelf life. (Big difference I would say). I also happened to get some dried pasta, even those with very high prices. Ok we are close to the Customs but Monte Olompino is part of the Municipality of Como.. and not of Chiasso 🤷🏻‍♂️ After this rip-off I honestly stuck with it and I'll go get the bread elsewhere too. But it costs the same at the bakery in Ponte Chiasso so I'll go there.

13/04/2025: No service, croissant from the day before. Coffee was ok.

12/03/2025: I rarely frequented it a few years ago... for work reasons I went there early in the morning... and unfortunately it was already quite crowded with navigation staff and S.pt.... which made it very noisy as a place... as far as the services were concerned it was normal... coffee, croissants more than acceptable.

23/02/2025: 3.70 euros of coffee cream... taken by the barista from a packet in the fridge... inedible!!! Acidic taste, it looked like pudding... we left it all! Shameful! But more!

26/01/2025: Don't let the owner make the coffee... Apart from being rude he is not capable of making a coffee…. Horrible from every point of view not to mention the cuisine… I don't understand how it is still open… have a good life
