14/10/2025: The staff service is excellent, very kind, friendly and formal but I have a small point to make regarding the prices. We ordered a fried gnocchi for two people as an appetizer, we got 5 gnocchi with two counted slices of raw ham and two slices of porchetta, so one slice per type for each. The price of this appetizer is €7.60.. We also ordered a mixed grill which was very good, but the meat was cold

12/10/2025: The electrical system from 2004 needed redoing due to the psychedelic light that was kindly turned off by the waiter. The bathrooms were unstable, as if I'd drunk two carafes. I'm not posting photos out of pity. It can be improved, come on!

28/08/2025: Even though it was a weekday, so there weren't many people, and I arrived at 10 pm and the kitchen was already closed, they were very kind and offered me a selection of cold dishes. Vitel tonnè, buffalo mozzarella, and cherry tomatoes accompanied by a truly delicious fornarina. I'll be back to try some of the hot dishes.

26/09/2025: We had reserved a table for four outside, but the lady who welcomed us arrogantly and rudely told me, "No, inside only," simply because another, larger group had reserved the outside tables after us. This was actually a minor issue, because once inside, we were treated like dirt, most likely because we were foreigners. The food was generally awful: appetizers full of oil, first courses that were very hard to digest, and desserts that were bland (perhaps the only thing that stood out was the tiramisu). The final surprise: €40 per person, without wine, just water and coffee. Note that the bill was calculated by hand after a wait of about 10 minutes. I highly recommend it, especially given the rudeness of the staff!!!

21/09/2025: Excellent lake fish restaurant. Traditional dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Friendly and welcoming staff. Quick service. Homemade desserts. Excellent value.

07/10/2025: We ordered a set menu for two (price not displayed), 3 different starters, main courses, and side dishes, including water. When we got to the cashier, we paid about €12 for a starter and €14 for a main course with side dish. I asked why we thought we were paying for a set menu (I don't remember the exact price now, but it's a good deal for workers, around €12-14 maybe, no more). The owner, a bit gruff, told me she ordered a starter and her husband ordered a main course???!!! If we'd known, we'd have ordered the full menus!!! But the food was nothing to write home about.

05/10/2025: We went for dinner on a Saturday evening, booking the same day via the Google form: very convenient and quick. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. We ordered a charcuterie board with gnocco fritto (very good). I chose pizzoccheri, truly excellent, while the others had polenta with mushrooms, also very good...except that one of them found a little "surprise." We pointed it out, knowing that certain things can happen, but the response was "it's normal, it was probably in the mushrooms." No apology, just a desire to pass it off as normal. Personally, if I had found it on my plate, I wouldn't have been able to continue eating. Even when it came to the bill, there was no apology or gesture of courtesy, not even a small discount. We were a little disappointed: we didn't want to cause controversy, but a little more attention and sensitivity would have made a difference.

25/02/2025: One of the best hotels ever! There are so many things to say, but one stands out: the owner, Mr. Fioroni. A man who will make your stay unforgettable. An artist, musician, writer, an invaluable figure, a historic figure in this delightful village, and, in short, a friend to every guest. A unique, incomparable experience that will allow you to discover true Italian culture, made of stories, music, and good food. The historic venue is beautifully enhanced by the small piazza and the sweeping view of the lake. Just a few meters away, every service and fair prices.

19/02/2025: Does anyone know if this hotel is closed permanently or just during the winter months? Does this hotel mean it is definitive or only long-term in winter?

21/07/2025: Este restaurante es perfecto! La pasta es deliciosa y definitivamente es fresca! El tiramisú es el mejor que he probado y literalmente viajaría por todo el mundo para comerlo de nuevo. ¡VEN AQUÍ!

23/06/2025: We go there often. The food is home-made, well-prepared, tasty. The menu is varied and varied. Dishes are very well presented. Good portions. The service is excellent, precise, fast even when the place is full. The prices are absolutely fair and never exaggerated.

02/11/2025: Excellent traditional dishes, some typical of the Larian area, are carefully prepared on the spot. This may mean a short wait before being served, but it's worth it. Meanwhile, you can enjoy a pleasant view of Comacina Island and the lake.

19/09/2025: I politely asked if it was possible to have a simple dish, like pasta with sauce or pasta without sauce, since I don't eat meat or fish. The waiter—perhaps the owner—replied rather hastily: "No, we have pizzoccheri." I pointed out that, with 95°F (35°C) lunchtime temperatures and a table on the terrace, it wasn't exactly ideal, and asked if they could prepare something light with vegetables. The answer was again a firm "No." I fully understand that the menu can't always be changed, but I believe a little availability—and especially courtesy—costs nothing. If it hadn't been for a friend's birthday, I would have left.

04/10/2025: AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! We went for lunch hoping to enjoy good food, but unfortunately it was a complete disaster. The place is spartan and unwelcoming: the walls near the windows are peeling and give off a sense of neglect. As for the food, we chose the daily menu. The gnocchi alla romana were just three pieces, broken, as if they'd been transferred from another dish; the sauce was completely dry and clearly reheated, with no trace of mozzarella or cheese: truly disappointing. The loin with baked potatoes didn't improve the situation: the potatoes were decent, but the meat was dry and lacking in sauce, to the point of being almost inedible. To avoid abandoning it completely, we wrapped it in napkins and took it home... at least the dogs enjoyed it. In short, with all due respect, if this is the standard of cuisine, it's best to look elsewhere. Even though the lunch menu costs only €13, it's best to stay away.

04/10/2025: Right in the center of Turate (CO), just steps from the parking lots, near the Intesa San Paolo bank. I ordered three takeout pizzas: a Margherita, a Capricciosa, and a Zola e Noci. The pizzas are well-topped, with excellent quality ingredients and beautifully filled! Miriam & Elena are super kind, warm, and welcoming to their customers! The girl who works at the bar and dining room is also kind and capable. We also had lunch at this trattoria, and it has now become our go-to place, not just for lunch/dinner but also for good pizza! We recommend it! 🥰

18/06/2025: I frequent the establishment for the restaurant, a room that has a beautiful view of the valley. Simple furnishings, local food and menus with normal portions. Friendly, smiling staff willing to exchange a few words between courses. Good quality price.

25/08/2025: Extremely rude waiter, food was good. Cheapest glass of wine is 9 euros

25/08/2025: It was an amazing cocktail, and it was very charming bar. Having complimentary food was also a great addition to the bar. The only reason for 4 stars is the lack of personality from staff, and the barman was slightly rude to the waitress, which impacted the atmosphere.

11/10/2025: This hotel is not as advertised. There is no air conditioning in the offseason. If known prior to booking I would have made reservations at a different accommodation. However this was not communicated in person or online. Our room was at 26 degrees Celsius (79 Fahrenheit) in October which is not acceptable with no circulating air. I placed my complaint with that staff and they assure this would be corrected. However it was not. We were told to open the window (that does not fully open) and to use the fan and that most guests prefer 23 degrees Celsius which is not what it is set at. I will be requesting a full refund due to the fact that there is no air conditioning available during the off season despite advertised amenities. For an accommodation located at the “pearl of the lake” I expected more. Especially considering the price. Save you efforts and book elsewhere.
