10/04/2025: A very well-known place in the area and beyond, going there you understand why: a welcoming and well-kept place, ideal for evenings with friends. Smiling, friendly staff available to best advise the customer. Dinner with the giropizza formula (on Thursday evening): particular doughs with unusual and centered combinations that make everything very balanced, combined with quality ingredients ensure that the platters are always light and very tasty. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu!!

23/03/2025: Osteria hidden in a street corner, but when you enter you find a welcoming and warm environment; Simone the owner is very approachable and makes you feel at home, the staff is also discreet and friendly at the right time. Very clean restrooms. Lunch was spectacular, homemade pasta cooked with care, everything was tasty and tasty, the risotto was the highlight. The second courses were also very good, especially the chicken with balsamic vinegar. Desserts plated with care and generous portions. House wine acceptable. The expense, with what we ate, was very low and the quality was high. Definitely coming back.

18/02/2025: I visited the place for lunch on a Saturday, without booking. The restaurant is well maintained, clean, tidy and, in my opinion, well decorated. Top food, I tasted sloppy, pizzoccheri, tagliatelle with mushrooms and strudel. Attentive and punctual service. Honest prices. Highly recommended, we will return.

Der Inhaber macht den Service selbst, sehr charismatisch, sehr höflicher Empfang. Der ganze Service war wirklich sehr gut! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen! Eines der besten Restaurants am Gardasee!

07/04/2025: Oggi sono tornato a Castel d’Ario. Mi sono fermato alla trattoria “Al Macello”. Tutto prenotato. Ma la signora all’ingresso mi guarda e dice: “Mai si lascia qualcuno senza cibo.” E lì ho capito che ero nel posto giusto. Accoglienza vera, quella che ti fa sentire come da una zia: semplice, calda, senza giudizi. La sala è piena di artigiani, commercianti, coppie. Persone vere, che hanno voglia di stare bene, parlare, mangiare come si deve. Niente design da rivista, nessuna posa. Solo comunità, tradizione, energia buona. Riso alla mantovana, Lambrusco fresco, e una cameriera che, con il suo sorriso sicuro, avrebbe conquistato anche Napoleone. Qui non c’è niente di “stellato”. Ma c’è tutto. Un luogo così meriterebbe una tesi. Una ricerca vera su ciò che conta davvero: ospitalità, equilibrio, bellezza semplice. Grazie alla comunità di “Al Macello”. P.S. Il conto? Commovente, come la loro onestà.

07/03/2025: I went there for the first time today, for lunch with a colleague. We arrived in the area and only thought about going here at the last moment. Arriving without a reservation, we immediately understood that it is strongly recommended to call ahead. Despite everything, the girls were very kind and found us accommodation. The service was courteous and fast, in less than half an hour we had already finished lunch. For the 14 euro fixed menu, I had spaghetti with seafood, cod and fried potatoes. The dishes were really excellent. Even my colleague, who preferred meat, was very satisfied. Saved to favourites, definitely recommend.

Starters worth reviewing, the mixed one in particular does not justify the cost (26 euros) for the quality and products served (the raw meat and the cheese are good, the rest is just anonymous). The menu is available on a blackboard on the wall and immediately makes you understand the use of top quality raw materials. The staff is kind. A restaurant valid for both lunch/dinner with clients and intimate. Workhorses always available are culatello with fried bread and beer risotto with red radicchio and taleggio. Advised

17/04/2025: We celebrated our birthday last Sunday. We decided to have an aperitif with a menu already set by the restaurant. Everything excellent and plentiful. Our friends were delighted! In addition to the food, they appreciated the location, as it was very quiet.

05/04/2025: Categoria: Ristorante Italiano Trovato per: Guida Slow Food (@) Il ristorante si trova in un piccolo paesino delle campagne cremonesi, sull’angolo di un enorme quanto affascinante piazzale con porticati e il maestoso Palazzo della Guardia. Negli anni scorsi ero stato già tre o quattro volte in questo ristorante, trovato sulla Guida Slow Food (negli anni ho girato quasi tutte le chiocciole entro due ore da Milano) e mi aveva sempre soddisfatto. Questa volta no. Era la terza decade di agosto e il ristorante era praticamente vuoto, oltre al mio ci saranno stati giusto un altro paio di tavoli occupati. Ho ordinato due piatti che avevo già preso altre volte e iconici del ristorante: i marubini in brodo e la faraona alla creta. I marubini li ricordavo più saporiti, sia per quanto riguarda il ripieno sia il brodo. E un po’ erano bucati quindi il ripieno si era, seppur di brodo, bagnato. La faraona, servita con del purè di patate, era parecchio asciutta. Avevo un ricordo molto migliore di entrambi i piatti. La carta dei vini è abbastanza ampia, ma manca una fascia intermedia e i ricarichi sono cospicui. Ero da solo, di passaggio per un pranzo veloce e non volevo spendere troppo: le scelte interessanti intorno ai 50€ erano poche, ho scelto un Pinot di Borgogna (che servivano anche al calice) ed era parecchio deludente. Avendola ordinata io non contesto la bottiglia in sè, ovviamente, ma la mancanza di scelta. Servizio ok, conto abbastanza elevato. Dal momento che avevo un ottimo ricordo di questo ristorante lo riproverò sicuramente, sarà stata una giornata sfortunata in cucina, sperando anche in qualche modifica alla carta dei vini.

Sono tanti i piatti da segnalare, ma la nota di merito va al Savarin di riso e alle lumache alla boughignon in chiocciole di pasta
