27/09/2025: In March 2025, at dinner, we were offered the "Rossetti" (tiny, almost transparent fish) because March is the season. We were greatly disappointed to receive fritters made almost entirely of batter... with a homeopathic content of "Rossetti" (red fish). The Ligurian-style minestrone, however, was good, with pesto on the bottom of the plate. Overall, a rather disappointing experience.

01/08/2025: Ik heb nog nooit zo’n onbeschoft personeel meegemaakt, we hebben fles wijn besteld en een cola die pas na 20 minuten kwamen toen we de 2de keer hadden gevraagd waar ons drinken is. Voordat we ons drinken kregen vroegen ze al om eten te bestellen. Het voorgerecht was prima, ik had de laatste hap in m’n mond en ze stonden al met het hoofdgerecht terwijl de net leeg gegeten borden er nog stonden, die werden zo uitgewisseld en dooreten. We hadden er wat van gezegd dat we t niet oké vonden dat we niet eens ons voorgerecht fatsoenlijk konden op eten voordat t volgende eraan kwam. Het personeel kon dat niet waarderen en waren onbeschoft en begonnen te hard en intimiderend te praten “wil je het eten of niet anders gaat t terug naar de keuken maar je gaat t wel betalen”. We konden geen antwoord geven en ze pakte onze onaangeraakte borden weg. Ze zei tegen ons dat de keuken om 9 uur dicht gaat, vonden we raar dat t niet vermeld was wanneer er om half 9 naar binnen kwamen. We gingen betalen en er waren 2 nieuwe tafels die gewoon rustig nog eten konden bestellen om half 10. We vroegen waarom wij zo snel moesten zijn en we kregen t antwoord “Is het jouw restaurant?”. Zeer onbeschoft persoon, geen reclame voor de horeca Italië, schande. Als je een leuke gezellige avond wilt met een leuke sfeer van de personeel zou ik hier niet heen gaan. Geen woorden voor het personeel, het was niet normaal… Ze willen zoveel mogelijk geld uit de tafels halen, klant is niet koning maar klant moet opschieten en wegwezen. Voor de “oudere” t is alsof je in een extreme aflevering van Fawlty Towers terecht komt.

17/11/2025: Looking for something a little different for lunch, I tried this place, located in the heart of Genoa's historic center on Via San Lorenzo, just past the cathedral, heading toward the Porto Antico. The idea of ​​offering a "diet" or at least a balanced menu, catering to fitness or health needs, is original and interesting. The place has modern decor with indoor seating; you can choose between poke bowls and pre-measured hot dishes with calculated calories, where you can select your favorite vegetables. For my first time, I ordered pesto gnocchi with a side of peppers and chicken skewers. I found the latter to be really good due to the unique sauce, but the rest was average. For my first time, I was generally satisfied, although I found the price a bit high for the quantity and the simplicity of the menu, which is unfussy. However, the lack of a restroom and the presence of a hole in the wall for the only garbage can on the same shelf where some people were eating are unacceptable. It might be worth another try

15/05/2025: Wir gehen vom Hafen 10 Minuten zum Lokal. Neben Pasta und Fleischgerichten werden auch Fischgerichte angeboten. Die Unterhaltung auf Englisch funktioniert prima. Es ist ein kleines Restaurant. Das Essen kann im Lokal oder an ein paar Tischen vor dem Lokal (autofreie Zone) eingenommen werden. Die Bestellung wird am Tisch aufgenommen. Das sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Personal bedient uns unverzüglich und berät uns bei der Auswahl der Speisen und Getränke. Wir wählen eine Prosciutto-/Tomatenplatte als Vorspeise. Dazu einen Roséwein. Als Hauptgericht gibt es Tortellini in einer Pesto-/Nusssoße. Zum Nachtisch gibt Tiramisu und einen Espresso. Alles ist gekonnt zubereitet und schmeckt köstlich. Wir können das Lokal ausdrücklich empfehlen. Es ist ein wunderschöner Ort zum entspannten Verweilen. Danke an das Personal für den sehr guten Service.
01/05/2025: Tengo celíacos y al llegar al restaurante me informaron inmediatamente que solo usan harina de arroz. Pedí un curso de pescado que era absolutamente delicioso. El pescado estaba perfectamente cocinado. Mi hija, que es vegetariana, también disfrutó mucho de su comida. Además de la buena comida, el servicio también fue excelente.

14/07/2025: Situato in una stradina parallela al budello principale di Cogoleto questo ristorante, dall’esterno, non vi colpirà particolarmente con insegne luminescenti o cartelli pubblicitari ma, appena entrati, vi sentirete un po’ come a casa vostra. Non posso non partire dalla signora Ada, la vera storia di questo locale. Ci accoglie come fossimo degli abituè, amici di famiglia, vicini di casa. Ed è proprio così che ci si sente dopo qualche minuto passato insieme. La spiegazione dettagliata del menù non è la solita tiritera di piatti, ingredienti o elenco di materie prime … ogni piatto ci viene descritto insieme alla sua storia, i suoi aneddoti, la ricetta, il modo di come la signora Ada (o semplicemente Ada come lei vuole essere chiamata) lo cucina a casa sua. Questa accoglienza, così diversa da qualsiasi posto che ho frequentato in tutti questi anni, mi ha fatto innamorare di questo posto prima ancora di assaggiare una qualsiasi pietanza e ho già, sorprendentemente, l’acquolina in bocca. Siamo in quattro e ognuno di noi prende uno starter diverso. Il guazzetto di muscoli (cozze per i non Liguri), il Cenonno composto da una serie di piattini con assaggi mare e monti, caldi o freddi, polpo e patate, mentre io scelgo il piatto che avevo già visto sul loro sito web: code di gamberi avvolti nel lardo d’Arnad con stracciatella di burrata, semplicemente spaziali, cotti alla perfezione, con materie prime di altissima qualità, sono entrati di prepotenza nella mia personalissima top 10 di piatti più buoni mangiati nella mia vita ! Qui Ada, ci grazia della ricetta “casalinga” di questo piatto, semplicissima, rapidissima ma con ingredienti che devono essere necessariamente di ottima qualità ! Proseguiamo questa esperienza culinaria eccezionale, con i ravioli di burrata con pomodorini, basilico e acciughe di Cetara, delicatissimi, preparati alla perfezione e cotti al dente come piacciono a me. Finiamo con la “Tavolozza di dolci” tutti provenienti dalla Campania e Sicilia, uno più buono dell’altro. Io però ho scelto la delizia al limone tutta per me e ho fatto bene in quanto era veramente troppo golosa per condividerla con qualcuno. Di una cosa sono convinto adesso, il ristorante Nonno Cuoco è sicuramente la mia prima scelta a Cogoleto.
13/07/2025: Located on a narrow street parallel to the main street of Cogoleto, this restaurant may not particularly impress you from the outside with its neon signs or advertising, but as soon as you enter, you'll feel a little at home. I can't help but start with Signora Ada, the true story of this place. She welcomes us as if we were regulars, family friends, neighbors. And that's exactly how you feel after spending a few minutes together. The detailed explanation of the menu isn't the usual rigmarole of dishes, ingredients, or a list of raw materials... each dish is described to us along with its history, its anecdotes, the recipe, and the way Signora Ada (or simply Ada, as she prefers to be called) cooks it at home. This welcome, so different from any other place I've frequented in all these years, made me fall in love with this place before even tasting a single dish, and my mouth is already, surprisingly, watering. There are four of us, and we each choose a different starter. The mussel stew (mussels for non-Ligurians), the Cenonno, a series of small plates with hot and cold seafood and mountain appetizers, octopus, and potatoes, while I chose the dish I'd already seen on their website: shrimp tails wrapped in Arnad lard with burrata stracciatella. Simply out of this world, cooked to perfection, with the highest-quality ingredients, it's now firmly in my personal top 10 of the best dishes I've ever eaten! Ada, please share the "homemade" recipe for this dish—very simple, very quick, but with ingredients that must be top-quality! We continue this exceptional culinary experience with burrata ravioli with cherry tomatoes, basil, and Cetara anchovies—delicate, perfectly prepared, and cooked al dente, just the way I like them. We finish with the "Palette of Desserts," all sourced from Campania and Sicily, each one better than the last. I, however, chose the lemon delight all for myself, and I was right to do so, as it was truly too delicious to share. One thing I'm now convinced of: Nonno Cuoco is definitely my first choice in Cogoleto.

05/11/2025: My husband and I ate here on our first night in Monterosso on October 27, 2025 and we both agreed that it was the best food we have ever had. We ordered the baked sea bass and it was beyond amazing. It was simple as far as preparation, but the flavors were complex and the fish cooked to perfection. The young man who deboned our fish at table side was so very sweet and quite good at his task. If we ever are lucky enough to return to Italy, Ristorante Ciak will be on our must visit list.
31/10/2025: We stayed in Monterosso twice over the past few years and ate at Ciak every night. The food, service and atmosphere is amazing.

The family-run business is its true strength: professionalism, attention to detail, and friendliness create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, ideal for those seeking a truly comfortable vacation. The restaurant is a real surprise: tasty, carefully crafted dishes of a quality that surpasses that of many renowned restaurants in the area. Simple cuisine, but made with love and excellent ingredients. The bar also deserves a special mention: excellent focaccias, fresh croissants, excellent coffee, and carefully prepared cocktails, always served with kindness and a smile. Special praise goes to Fabio, who manages the beach with obsessive attention to cleanliness and order. Every detail is taken care of, and it shows! I sincerely recommend Bagni Gianni to anyone looking for quality, courtesy, and an environment with attention to every detail. An experience worth repeating!

26/09/2025: A simple, typically Italian trattoria where the local craftsmen take a long lunch break at lunchtime. It's simple, it's loud, and you're right in the middle of it all! The food is excellent (spaghetti aglio & olio and spaghetti vongole), prepared promptly by two people, which is also a good thing. The house wine is excellent; this is a place for simple, delicious food and drink.
21/09/2025: A panoramic restaurant in Sant'Andrea di Rovereto, between Chiavari and Rapallo. It boasts a panoramic view of the Tigullio Bay. Excellent fresh grilled fish, plentiful and promptly served. The meat was also tasty and tender. We dined in the front garden, and the owner was very kind and helpful!
