Seaside terrace with comfortable tables, slow service, pizzas, and traditional Ligurian dishes. When it's crowded, I recommend hurrying the waiters without waiting too long (we waited an hour between the first and second courses before asking). Reservations recommended.

We don't usually write many reviews, but after so many negative ones, I'd like to correct a few things: Yes, as a German, the restaurant's name might initially make you think of a retirement home, and the view from the window of the large hall with its many tables seems to confirm this impression. However, from the back, it turns out to be a wonderful restaurant, probably the only one located right on the beach, offering a breathtaking view from the water's edge until late in the evening. It's also standard practice in Italy to charge €2.50 for a cover charge, and this isn't a hidden fee; it's common practice in many restaurants. This has been frequently criticized, and it needs to be clarified. For this location, the value for money is more than justified. It's not a five-star restaurant, but all the dishes are delicious, generously portioned, and prepared to a high standard. Yes, the waiters don't speak German and usually not English either. But that's not a problem, because we're traveling abroad and shouldn't assume everyone is there just to please us. We had sensational spaghetti vongole (which you wouldn't find anywhere else for €16), fritto misto (excellent!), and grilled redfish (which was perhaps on the grill a touch too long and therefore almost dry). But it still tasted great. Where else in Italy can you find rosé, white, and red wines for €20? Sure, there was no Sancerre, Chablis, or Amarone, but it was still good and perfectly fine for an evening by the water.

We stumbled upon it by chance. We had the pizza. It was really good, and the location was beautiful. It needs a bit of renovation, but it's large and overlooking the sea. The service was simple but friendly and courteous. I recommend it.

Unpretentious seaside restaurant. A very decent seafood antipasto, good value for money. Very friendly staff.

If you're in Varazze with a large group of friends and are looking for a place that can accommodate everyone, this is the right restaurant for you. Excellent food; we ate Ligurian seafood and had a great time. Friendly, fast, and helpful staff.

A simple and quiet place, ideal for a break in Varazze in a beautiful location. Nothing special, but still a pleasant place to stop and enjoy a relaxing moment. The atmosphere is quiet and the service is average, with the staff being friendly and helpful!

Dining on a terrace overlooking the sea at sunset is a pleasure in itself, and if it's accompanied by good food and friendly staff, I'd say the evening was excellent!
