16/09/2025: Located on a narrow street in the upper part of Bolsena's historic center, we dined on the street as evening fell. Special mention goes to the pork fillet with apples and a honey and balsamic vinegar reduction. The baked calamari was excellent. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly. Congratulations!

24/08/2025: A young couple has been running the place for a few months. We enjoyed an aperitif lunch with a delicious cold cuts platter served with edible flowers and some good craft beers (see photo), captivated by the location and the good music at the right volume. Andrea told us how the idea for this venture came about, and we wanted to learn more: so we organized a tasting in their "cellar" with four local wines and cold cuts and cheese platters. A very positive experience!

23/08/2025: I knew I could get delicious ice cream in Italy. But Lolla Gelato takes it to the next level! They celebrate this art. Every flavor I tried was outstanding. Not overly sweet, not artificial, not watered down. Rather, it was a symphony of natural and, above all, local flavors, like blackberry, fig, or peach. For me, one of the best ice cream parlors in the world! Excellent, keep up the good work!

07/09/2025: We ate at La Francigena Bolsena because of the good reviews. All guests were greeted with disrespect by the very bad-tempered waitress. At first, we thought the waitress was only being like that to us, but as the evening progressed, we realized that she treated everyone else badly. The restaurant is actually beautifully located in an alleyway with a great atmosphere. The menu, drinks, salt, pepper, and food were slammed onto the table without the waitress even looking at us. At the next table, an Italian tried to get vinegar for his salad, but the waitress simply ignored him. The food is at the level of a chip shop, and the pizza is one of the worst in all of Bolsena. I don't understand the positive reviews. My recommendation: go somewhere else.

27/08/2025: Passing by to see the lake, we stopped for dinner, and even though everything was booked, they were kind enough to find a place to set up a table for two. In addition to the courtesy and friendliness of the staff, and the beauty of the place with its lake view, we found excellent food. Many compliments!

22/09/2025: The seafood puzzle starter is quite an experience and the taste can be quite surprisingly interesting. It also contains a small portion of frying freshwater seafood so people should avoid ordering another main dish of frying freshwater seafood or else you'll regret it like I do. The fryed seafood comes without any sauce so it's a bit plain. This will make you feel hard to finish when eating too much deep fried fishes. The SPAGHETTONE WITH SEAFOOD CARBONARA contains only 2 small shrimps and small pieces of calamari. Furthermore, it does not taste like traditional carbonara with plenty of cheesy flavour and it's quite salty. It's a bit of disappointment because my wife said they use fresh seafood captured from the lake which gave me a bit of high expectation on all their seafood dishes. Nevertheless, the view of the lake is still great and their steak looks quite tempting. I'll probably recommend ordering steak instead of their fried seafood. Enjoy.

05/10/2025: I'm a chef who has also worked in high-end restaurants. I give it 5* because: Quick and professional service. Even with the restaurant full, we didn't wait for any dish. This means the kitchen is organized. The dishes were well-cooked, with a delicate flavor. Even the lake fish was pleasantly flavorful. The tonnarelli were cooked to perfection. I noticed several timers (divided by color) near the kettle...another sign of professionalism. The bill was more than fair. It's a trattoria, so don't expect plating or various dressings. But that's the positive side.

05/10/2025: Ein absolutes Highlight! Die Pizza ist unbeschreiblich gut - dünner Teig mit viel Belag und leckerer Käse. Das Tiramisu ist das beste, welches wir bisher gegessen haben.

29/09/2025: Waited 45 minutes (!) for the food - a menu only as a QR code with translations into other languages ​​not working - lasagne for 15 euros and a leaf salad for 5 euros was cheeky/rip-off - under no circumstances would I enter the restaurant again

29/09/2025: The worst restaurant of our entire three-week trip through Italy. One star for the great location and the cheap water price. The rest: outrageous! Almost an hour of waiting for an overpriced bit of nothing. €30 for a small piece of fatty and over-salted fish, with no vegetables on the side, and a small salad consisting of a few leaves of green lettuce with a few pieces of tomato. The lasagna was dry, bland, and partially burnt. The bread was dry. I had to get salt and pepper from the counter myself to season the salad. The women's restroom was dirty! Absolutely not recommended!!! If you came for the beautiful view, it's better to have a coffee a few meters away and enjoy a delicious ice cream for a fraction of the price.

22/09/2025: The place is very nice on the outside, but inside there was definitely the smoke I'd read about in some reviews. The pizza was good, Neapolitan-style. The fried foods and desserts were equally good. The service was friendly, but could be improved. What I didn't like were the placemats on the tables (which, unfortunately, are NOT disposable) because they were really dirty and sticky, and considering you use them to put your napkin and cutlery, I didn't like that at all. There's no parking; you have to look for it on the street.

19/09/2025: I never thought I'd be eating the best pizza I've ever had in Bolsena at 10:00 PM, after arriving from Emilia. The staff were very kind, even though it was late, and we were practically the only ones there. Thank you. Wonderful.
