12/03/2025: Me and my partner Marco chose to have our wedding lunch at L’eden dei castelli romani. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to host our reception. Simone was very hospitable and flexible for all the needs of the guests. Great communication and willing to satisfy all of our needs. They did all the decorations of the rooms and the tables and it was really amazing. Simone organised a tasting of the menu too which was a really nice treat and evening out. The food was amazing from the aperitivo until the cake and all our guests were so full that they didn’t need any more food for the evening 🤣 Thank you Simone for hosting a well organised day with no stresses for us. We are really happy and will come back again to dine here. ☺️ Marco & Sarah x ❤️

21/03/2025: Abito nella Sabina e sono stato a cena con parenti,locale accogliente e servizio discreto ma attento,abbiamo ordinato antipasti,pizze e dolci servito tutto con i giusti tempi e sempre con la massima cortesia…da amante della mozzarella di bufala,avrei preferito quella locale a km.0 che,per i miei gusti,è più buona di quella campana DOP ma credo di aver capito che,quella locale,non essendo di origine controllata,non puó essere usata nella ristorazione🤷🏻‍♂️ Torneró sicuramente al Picchio Allegro quanto prima

27/10/2024: Visited as part of a group ship tour. There was plenty of outdoor space and you can tell they do this quite often. Food was very good - server brought plates of cheese, bruschetta, honey, jam, red/white wine and sparkeling water. There was enough to fill you up without overeating. Servers were efficient and fast. The only thing is that there were a ton of flies, but we were eating outside with sweet food.

03/12/2024: This review will not provide information on the quality of the cuisine, which would appear to be of a good standard from the personal reports I received, but on the quality and professionalism of the owners. I am a fan of Campania cuisine, and by virtue of the good reviews received from trusted friends, I decide to discover this place. I sign up on the Facebook social page, I ask if the dish on the "zite alla Genovese" menu is always available or is it off-menu, and I inform them that I would soon book with a group of friends to try their cuisine, in particular that dish of which we are fond of. "We are waiting for you with open arms", this is the comment on the Facebook page, to which I also put a sappy little heart. This morning I book via the Wa channel, I request 14 places for Saturday 14 December. I was immediately informed that due to an event already scheduled for that date, they could not accept my request. They apologize and at the same time invite me to propose an alternative date. I propose to bring it forward to Friday 13 December; unfortunately the venue is not available for that date either. I therefore suggest moving to the following weekend, Friday 20th or Saturday 21st December, I leave it up to them to choose the day according to availability, however, keeping in mind that there will no longer be 14 of us, but between 8 and 10 people. After a few minutes, I was informed by telegram that the restaurant does not accept table reservations. Thank you for your interest. Stunned by such a response, I highlight the lack of transparency and contradictory nature of their behavior, I invite them to provide the correct information on the social pages they manage, and to quantify the number beyond which the reservation cannot be accepted as it is considered a "table" . (from the exchange of messages I deduce that the limit must not exceed 8 people, but I suggest asking for confirmation). So, if you want to try the cuisine of this place together with other people, know that there is a numerical limit to be able to access; if, unfortunately, you are a typical family of 4 people who would like to spend an evening with another typical family dear to them, also of 4 people, avoid calling them, or book separately. I must say that the managers apologized after my complaints, blaming a collaborator who was not aware of the ban on taking tables. Professionalism and customer care are fundamental, and are not only expressed in the refinement of the quality of the raw materials and in knowing how to cook them. But also by communicating, on websites or on Facebook or Instagram pages, by virtue of clarity and transparency, one's legitimate business choices, such as not taking reservations above a certain limit. And above all, avoiding communicating it telegraphically and abruptly, after a morning of exchanging messages and after the client has proposed 3 other alternative dates at their invitation. For me, for my 14 friends, this place does not deserve to be visited anymore. We need to give positive energy only to those who deserve it.

17/11/2024: Recommended by a friend, I went to this place for dinner with my wife. We ordered and ate everything; from appetizers to dessert. We were very satisfied as all the dishes were of excellent quality. The service was also fast and the managers were very friendly and approachable.

31/03/2025: Maybe we arrived there with too many expectations, but given the alternative proposal of pizzas I would never have expected to receive a round pizza cut in half! But where does the other half end up! 😅 it looked like a reheated pizza! I think that whoever wants to do the alternative must do it well! The waitress warned us that the half pizza was really half a round pizza, but in any case I was expecting something a little different! To charge me €9 for half a pizza, you have to make it at least better than the competition. On the other hand, it's better where I go to eat it elsewhere, plus they even give me the whole one! Finally, the deliveryman parked in front of my car and I waited and rang several times to exit the parking lot!

01/04/2025: While staying in Rome, we came to this restaurant twice. The welcome and advice was very good. We discovered some good Italian dishes. A stone's throw from the station and the hotel we had dinner there. The menu is well stocked and the price is very reasonable. I recommend

06/04/2025: Exquisito café, bollería y comida italiana. Camareros súper atentos y amables. Lugar perfecto bajo el sol, cerca de la Plaza de España. Afortunadamente a pocos metros de la corriente turística principal. El mejor lugar para relajarse en el verdadero estilo romano. Una verdadera delicia para el corazón y el alma.

27/10/2024: As always nice sewer drain grease. You go up there on the border with the shooting range there is the sewer drain. And if you are careful there are always fragments of rubbish in the water.. unfortunately... We fishermen are in that area that goes from the shooting range to the church of S. Maria Goretti, we call her the sewer!!!

21/04/2025: Gli antipasti buoni. I primi non degni di nota. Amatriciana, gricia ne ho mangiate molto più buone. Non abbiamo preso i dolci anche se alla vista sembravano buoni. Molto gentili i camerieri. I bagni delle signore privi di carta igienica e carta per le mani. Le tende da sole di tutto il locale hanno urgente bisogno di essere cambiate. Davvero brutte alla vista e poco igieniche

18/04/2025: Comimos en Bibo's muchas veces el año pasado para el desayuno, almuerzo y cena. Este año hicimos lo mismo. El servicio es increíble. Christian, Daniel, Angelo y Carlos te cuidarán muy bien. Somos una familia de 6 incluyendo un bebé de 13 meses. No podrían haber sido más útiles. Hizo las vacaciones. Una gran elección de comida e incluso ayudaron con opciones veganas. -Muchas gracias. Esperamos volver el año que viene. Está en el corazón de Roma, pero es agradable estar en una calle más tranquila.

20/02/2025: Excellence in food, refined and simple dishes, always tasty. You can taste the quality and the experience. I've known the owners for 25 years, at least, and when I want to live a unique and unforgettable experience I go to Giulio's... for me it's home, only with refined cuisine. I absolutely have to recommend the rice with black wine, the Barolo a Michelin star dish, no less the Wellington fillet exceeding all expectations, without taking anything away from the tonnarelli with white ragù. Not to mention the desserts...(Igino Massari is one of the teachers) I urge everyone to taste it and I challenge you to prove me wrong. Here you will experience an exciting adventure for the palate, the eyes and the heart. Highly recommended

12/11/2024: Excellent bistro where you can eat really well. Many particular dishes, delicious, prepared with so much passion by Giulio. Worth trying and then coming back to taste everything. Excellent value for money.

01/04/2025: Forse uno dei pochi locali ancora gestito da romani storici nati nella via, a pochi passi dalla fontana di trevi, locale curato con pochi posti perfetto da coppia, altissima qualità dei prodotti sia enoteca che classici leccornie italiane, una angolo per c nn i ama ancora l’ italianità

30/03/2025: Not quality wine but paid €8 per glass, good but tiny cutting board at a cost of €14....and not even a piece of bread, a breadstick, a tarallo, a cracker to eat together Really disappointing, shame because the place is very nice.

25/02/2025: Locale molto semplice dove si va' per mangiare bene ed essere accolti con calore. Abbiamo preso antipasto vari(fritti, affettati e bruschette),pizza(fina e buona),il dolce(crostata calda e ciambelline) caffè e bevande(acque,coca, birre e ratafia)..tutto al costo di 16 euro procapite.. Molto gentile il cameriere!!

14/04/2025: Er Bottarolo better there is! For us it was the first time here and we will definitely be back!!!! Airy, very clean room, refined in every detail, very clean toilets. Very nice, professional and very helpful landlady, she immediately put us at ease🥰, very kind and always smiling and friendly staff, we were here to celebrate my husband's birthday and it couldn't have gone better!!! Excellent appetizers: mini parmigiane, beans with pork rinds, supplì and croquettes alla gricia, mini polentine with spectacular sauce! For the first course we had everything and more: gricia, cacio e pepe, exquisite carbonara! For the second course we had meatballs with sauce, Roman saltimbocca, chicken Cacciatora, tripe with sauce, with sautéed chicory and baked potatoes, super generous portions and everything spectacular!!! To finish, a ricotta and pear cake that has never tasted so good, coffee and digestive! Not to mention the excellent red wine!! We've already said that we'll be back to celebrate my birthday!!! WHEN YOU WORK GOOD YOU SEE AND FEEL 😋😋😋😋 TRULY CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

10/04/2025: Oh well, what can I say except that it's probably the best venue! We had also been here other times and were always satisfied. We wanted to try the one in Prati and it is decent (decent starter, good first courses, unfortunately terrible second courses) and tried the one in Fiumicino, which bears only the name of the bottarolo since it has a very limited menu. Anyway, let's get to it, the starters are fantastic: in my case mini parmigiana, beans with pork rinds, supplì and croquette alla gricia all very good, plus a mini polenta with spectacular amatriciana sauce! For the first courses we had rigatoni with oxtail (we were hungry so half the portion is missing in the photo 😅) really excellent and with a piece of tail with lots of meat that melted in the mouth, a good gricia and a decent carbonara. For the second course we had meatballs all'amatriciana (decent) and saltimbocca alla Romana which were truly excellent and I highly recommend them! The current formula includes non-stop water and wine for €20, a portion per person of appetizers, non-stop first and second courses and coffee at the end of dinner. Having said that, I would add the director's infinite friendliness and ability to put you at ease! We will definitely come back to you next time! Compliments! The only note to take into consideration is that the website menu pretends it doesn't exist! In none of the 3 stores there is the menu you see on the site. In this specific case there is more choice, especially for the first courses, but I don't understand the chain's choice to put a menu on the site that doesn't exist, in this way it only puts the various places in difficulty, such as the one in Fiumicino.
