26/12/2024: From Naples we went to this little restaurant where we had a great time. The girls were available right away and what can I say... everything was delicious. cutting board, croquettes (highly recommended) and the legendary carbonara. We will definitely return

23/12/2024: It was the first time I went to this restaurant and I can say that I tried typical Italian food. They have several starters and the carbonara was very good and I recommend it. In large groups, prepare to drop the note.

05/01/2025: Excellent pasta, not pre-cooked but cooked by a good chef, these days it's no small thing in the center of Rome, where you turn you see the shape of Trevi. Very clean bathroom, lady at the entrance polite and very kind. The only small flaw is the non-Italian staff who are not used to pampering the customer. Overall it seems like a really good restaurant.

11/08/2024: When we arrived in Rome, we lunched here. We enjoyed the pizzas so much that we decided to eat here again before our departure (10.07.2024). Being vegetarians, we asked the vendor to clean the cutting utensils. However, he was rude and made a fuss about it. Fortunately, another very kind employee from Bangladesh noticed our request and promptly took care of it, ensuring our pizzas were cut with clean utensils. As we were eating our pizzas, we noticed they were badly burnt (see photos). I showed them to the vendor and pointed out they were burnt. He ignored me and mumbled something in Italian, leading me to believe we were being insulted. I again pointed out the burnt pizzas, and he simply gestured towards the trash can. There was no effort to make amends. Even if there is a language barrier, some things are universally understood. If not, one can always ask a colleague. Nevertheless, there was no apology, no offer to replace the burnt pizzas or refund the money. Shortly after, more customers arrived and placed orders with another vendor. I discussed the issue with him. Only after a very lengthy discussion did he partially acknowledge the mistake and offered a refund. I declined! It is outrageous how disrespectfully tourists are treated here. We do not want charity! We paid for burnt pizza, which is also weighed here. It is disrespectful that one has to argue at all! I asked the vendor if he would eat the burnt pizzas, and he said no. So why the long discussion? This is the worst hospitality I have experienced as a tourist in any country. I strongly advise against coming here. You will be scammed and insulted in Italian. The only nice employee here is the one from Bangladesh (many kind regards to him).

20/12/2024: If you’re looking for a place to waste your time and money, Merum Jazz Bar in Cassino, Italy, is the perfect spot. My experience here was nothing short of a disaster, thanks to both the staff and the owner. I came here on a Friday evening with a friend, hoping to have a quick meal. The place was packed, which I understand—it’s a Friday, and everyone’s busy. However, the service was beyond unacceptable. I ordered my food while my friend needed a bit more time to decide. My order arrived, and I finished eating, but my friend’s food never came. When I politely asked the server about it, he claimed we had only ordered water! Despite explaining several times that we did order food, he insisted we didn’t. Frustrated, I raised my voice, which I admit wasn’t ideal, but his response was shocking: “I AM NOT YOUR SERVANT.” I immediately apologized because, of course, nobody is a servant. But the fact remains—they messed up our order and refused to acknowledge it. What’s worse, the place has cameras, and I repeatedly asked them to check the footage to confirm what I was saying, but they were more interested in arguing with me than resolving the issue. Even the owner got involved, not to apologize but to argue with me over my comments about their poor service. After this entire ordeal, I just wanted to pay and leave. I asked several times to settle the bill, but the staff continued arguing. Finally, when I got ready to leave, they suddenly decided to let me pay. At least they know how to charge customers—that seems to be the only thing they’re good at. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, with a horrible smell. If you do visit (though I strongly recommend you don’t), avoid sitting anywhere near it. Lastly, if you’re a foreigner visiting Italy, this is definitely not the place you should go. Even though the staff can speak English, they will outright refuse to do so and yell at you, “Parlo Italiano!” The lack of professionalism and basic respect is appalling. This was, without a doubt, the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been to places with far fewer resources, including in Africa, where the service was leagues better than what I experienced here. Merum Jazz Bar is a disgrace, and I’ll never return.

29/11/2024: Incredible pasta! The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Not a popular tourist place so it is ideal to enjoy the flavors of Rome without the chaos. My husband ate here a year ago and loved it so much that we found it during our next trip to Rome. I loved the paccheri with bacon, onion, and pecorino cheese. Highly recommend!
