02/03/2026: I discovered this place through a Wonderbox I was given. A very beautiful, unusual structure, considering it's an abbey. Attentive service, very kind and helpful staff. It was a wonderful discovery, we'll be happy to return. The rooms are quiet and very clean. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade tarts. Everything was wonderful... thank you 🤩🤩🤩

05/11/2025: A well-preserved and charming castle located a short distance from Piacenza, with 15th-century towers, a large internal courtyard with pleasant green spaces, and a perimeter moat. It often hosts events, including the interesting Fair of Ancient Fruits and Flowers, featuring displays of artisanal food and textiles.
The only complaint is the restrooms, consisting of unhygienic cubicles that are inadequate for the high number of people attending the various events.
03/11/2025: I went for a fair and it was pleasant to walk around the large space around the castle. The whole thing is very characteristic.

18/01/2026: We were extremely disappointed with our experience at Picari restaurant in Modena. We had a confirmed reservation through The Fork for 8:00 PM, but we were contacted at 7:30 PM, just half an hour before, to inform us that the restaurant was already full and our reservation had been cancelled. The manager explained this by saying that our reservation through The Fork had been cancelled, likely because there was a discount and the restaurant preferred to give priority to customers paying full price. This behavior is unacceptable, especially so close to our reservation time. We lost time, trust, and an entire evening. For this reason, we are awarding one star and strongly advise against booking at this restaurant through The Fork.

04/11/2025: The Manager was fantastic. Our kids are 3y and 1y old and we were there quite late at around 7pm. He was very patient.
He brought some colour pens and papers for the kids to keep them happy and made space on our table for some of our toys. We ordered our food and he said they will prepare the food for the kids first and once they are ready, they will start with ours so that we have some time to feed pur kids first. That was not only nice but also very caring.
The food quality was very good, the portions were great and filled us pretty well and also the desert was absolutely awesome. Normally people want to sell as much as possible but the manager was different. When we ordered desert, he recommended to order one first because it might be too much and once we think we can make the second it won‘t take long.
Bur also all other staff was vedy friendly and helpful. I don‘t know many places where people are so passionate in their job.
Absolutely recommendable.

02/12/2025: Passing through Carpi on Friday evening for work, we looked for a restaurant near the hotel: we wanted to unwind and unwind. Despite the biting cold, we strolled downtown after dinner.
We chose "La Cantinetta": everything was impeccable—a welcoming atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent service, and top-quality cuisine.
The wine selection is also vast and excellent! It's a shame it's not close by... I would have returned more than once... 🙂

06/03/2026: If there's a paradise for those who love real, authentic, and expertly prepared pork, it's called TERME DEL COLESTEROLO in REGGIO EMILIA.
It's located in the heart of the historic center (between Piazza Prampolini and San Prospero), lively, warm, and familiar.
We popped in out of curiosity and left with bellies full of joy, light hearts, and the absolute certainty: we'll be back whenever we can.
Dinner totaled €40 for two: quality, quantity, and enjoyment deserved a standing ovation!
We ordered the legendary "Prepotenza Suina": a 900g pork ribs with aromatic herbs, cooked at a low temperature until tender, juicy, and fragrant—it literally falls off the bone with a fork! The herbs add that perfect aromatic touch; nothing heavy or greasy, just top-quality meat cooked to perfection.
And the baked potatoes on the side? Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just the right amount of flavor: the perfect pairing that lets you finish it all without regrets.
To finish on a sweet note, a delicious homemade profiterole – creamy, balanced, the perfect counterpoint to so much pork "arrogance." Everything is authentic, nothing industrial, just how we like it.
The atmosphere is an explosion of joy: hot pink everywhere, super cute pigs (the logo is already iconic!), and fun decorations that make you smile from the first second.
The service? Pure kindness, funny jokes, just the right speed: they treat you like a lifelong friend. Generous portions (that 900g ribs is an epic challenge, but one we won with honor!).
In a word: phenomenal. Terme del Colesterolo isn't just a restaurant, it's a pork full love experience.

There were 3 of us, and it would have been our first taste of the "pig," and so it was!!!
A downtown restaurant that exudes friendliness and passion from the wonderful host, "Cocco," and above all, "fat" from every wall of the place 😜, with all the photos, ironic paintings, and spa slogans....!!!
A truly original and one-of-a-kind culinary experience in every dish. We expected dishes that would raise our cholesterol, and we were rightly rewarded!
No offense to other dishes, but a special mention goes to His Majesty Fried Cotechino, Fried Erbazzone, Porchetta Lasagna, and the Sausage and Lambrusco Tortelli, not to mention the slow-cooked pork ribs... just look at the bone, which falls off on its own, leaving that succulent and tender meat, a unique pleasure!!!!! 🔝🔝🔝
But if there was something that struck us even more positively during our lunch, it was the gift Cocco gave us with his presence at our table. We felt privileged in this sense, he spent quite a while with us, sharing stories from the past and anecdotes of his experience at his restaurant, with his disarming wit, but always with discretion!!!
He alone IS WORTH the TRIP!!!
An experience we'll definitely repeat, and may the "Pig be with you"!!!

09/12/2025: The food is excellent, with very high quality and a refined, carefully prepared cuisine that's not overdone. There are 12-13 seats and reservations are required. I should add that it's quite difficult to book on weekends, even months in advance. It's much easier on weekdays.
