19/07/2025: Only one word to describe this experience...horrible. There were 11 of us, served 2-3 times at a time, terrible food. The wine was very warm, we asked for ice, which was brought after 30 minutes. Not only did our table complain, other tables decided to leave. Anyway, the appetizer lasted an hour and a half, my wife was served after an hour and 20 minutes, the waiters were inexperienced, I'm not going to comment on them but on the incompetent manager, I complained to him, he was sorry... but he didn't do anything more than that. We paid a bill of 490.00 euros. We also paid for the liqueurs... it's not for the 5-6 euros per liqueur, at least for all the unpleasant things that happened shouldn't have been counted. I forgot p.s. Let's not talk about the meat. I think I paid 80 euros per kilo Irish, if I'm not mistaken. It arrived raw, not rare. We asked for a griddle... and one arrived for three steaks... imagine that. Anyway, change your itinerary... this place should be closed due to the service, the food, the cistus, and the unprofessional behavior. Best regards, Marco Russo

06/07/2025: Sono stata per la prima volta in question locale, per una piacevolissima serata di fine giugno. Antipasto con crocchè, frittatina di pasta e montanarina, scazzuoppoli con sughetto fresco, assaggio di pizze di vari gusti. Servizio ai tavoli veloce, personale gentile e professionale. Prezzo giusto e conveniente per la qualità eccellente dei prodotti. Ritornero certamente, anche per assaggiare altre pietanze. Consigliatissimo. 5 stelle meritate!!!

03/08/2025: Mi marido y yo estábamos de vacaciones en Nápoles y queríamos algo de beber antes de continuar nuestro paseo por la ciudad. Rápidamente elegimos un “restaurante”, pensando que simplemente tomaríamos una copa, ¡lo que resultó ser un gran error! Nos mostraron a una mesa y luego fue completamente ignorado por el personal. Después de unos 10 minutos, se colocó una botella de agua en nuestra mesa sin IT la pidiéramos, y todavía no se nos había acercado ningún camarero. De repente, apareció un hombre con una guitarra y comenzó a cantar fuerte justo en nuestras caras. Cuando terminó, exigió dinero. Cuando nos negamos cortésmente, se volvió pasivo, agresivo y comenzó a insultarnos. Esa fue la gota que colmó el vaso. Nos levantamos y fuimos al bar a pagar la botella de agua —a pesar de que no habíamos pedido IT ni tocado IT— solo para salir de allí lo más rápido posible. Solo entonces el personal se dio cuenta, y parecían confundidos sobre el tema. Le expliqué al hombre del bar que NO había nadie dispuesto a servirnos, un tipo exigió dinero para una actuación que no pedimos, y aún así estábamos dispuestos a pagar por el agua solo para irnos. Entonces saltó una mujer, exigió una explicación, y terminó dándose la vuelta mientras nos insultaba en Italiano. En ningún momento fuimos groseros o irrespetuosos, simplemente nos ofrecimos a pagar por algo que no pedimos, solo para irnos pacíficamente. Este lugar es una trampa turística completa. Evita IT a toda costa.

27/09/2025: When in Italy do as the Italians do! Have a morning espresso at the bar and then come back for a pastry with hot filling and a cappuccino later. No tourists just the Italians loved it and Marco is a great waiter.

05/10/2025: The sfogliatella riccia e frolla was good, I'd say. The coffee was noticeably better than at many other more famous cafés where I've had burnt coffee. Here, however, it was delicious, and the lady was very kind, though the cashier was a little less so. The prices were very fair.

08/10/2025: I used to come here for lunch sometimes. The food is delicious. The other day, I decided to have an early lunch. Google said it opened at 12:00, but when I went up to ask if I could have lunch, I was told in a rather unpleasant manner that the osteria only opens at 1:00 and that, in fact, only hospitals serve lunch at 12:00. I understand, but they could have responded more kindly. It ruined the experience. Too bad.

18/09/2025: The choice was a random one, found online. We were a group of pilgrims and needed something close to the basilica. We didn't regret it for a second. The food was delicious and plentiful, and every request was accommodated. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. I would like to thank the owner again for his patience and willingness to help me with any requests I made, including making changes for those with food intolerances. And what a surprise, I discovered the delicacies in a separate area, offering typical local products and a great selection of wines.

26/05/2025: Great Evening of live music. The trio Un Brindisi all'Opera performed. I enjoyed the pasta and potatoes, the parmigiana, the fried land, the cheese board accompanied with a good bottle of Rosè. Convivial atmosphere easy to make friends.

02/10/2025: A splendid location, steeped in history. Spacious rooms impeccably clean. A warm welcome awaits you in this former monastery, where your host will give you a guided tour upon request. And I haven't even mentioned the excellent breakfast and exceptional evening meals. However, the place is worth it; access isn't the easiest!

28/09/2025: For my husband and I, this venue was love at first sight! We chose it for our wedding, which we celebrated a few weeks ago. Giovanna is very helpful and accommodated all our needs. On the wedding day, the weather was unpredictable, but the staff was ready to quickly adapt the arrangements, keeping both indoor and outdoor options available. The ceremony took place in their beautiful veranda, and fortunately, everything else took place outside in the garden and under the pergola, immersed in nature and with a breathtaking view. Our guests were blown away by the location and the excellent food. A special thanks goes to the maître d', Domenico, a truly special person who looked after us throughout the day; you can tell he puts his heart and soul into his work. If I could get married again, I would choose Masseria Astapiana again. Thank you so much for everything! Giuliana and Alessando
