21/02/2026: I thought it was love, but it was just a carriage. For Valentine's Day, my wife and I wanted to savor a dish that would make the day unique. When we saw the photo of the iconic dish from Che Avallone, our doubts were dispelled, and without further ado, we decided to spend Valentine's Day at the Cetaria restaurant. But the choice immediately proved to be the wrong one. When the dish "Mixed pasta with smoked lobster, wild oregano, and nduja" arrived, we were sorely disappointed. The dish we wanted to eat and savor was completely different. You can see this in the attached photos. I also ate my wife's dish because I'm a pasta lover and hungry, but at the end of the meal, we decided to point out the difference to the chef, hoping to return to try it again. When, at the end of the meal, we described our disappointment to the excellent waitress, all hell broke loose. The owner began attacking us in a manner that was nothing short of rude, and the chef who intervened later tried to justify our criticisms, but to no avail, and he too began to stiffen. In the end, we asked to return and eat the dish featured on the pages, which we didn't receive today. Perhaps the constructive criticism touched the owner's ego, demonstrating her arrogance. Our advice is to step down from your pedestal and accept the opinion of those who trust you by coming to your restaurant. In response to Chef Avallone Dear Chef, you failed to grasp the thrust of my review, much less the civil criticism we made of the restaurant. I'm sorry, and I'll try to explain myself better once again. The photo published, even though I'm not a professional photographer, is intended to describe the discrepancy of a dish that, although well executed, lacked an element. Our criticism begins by asking if we can return to your restaurant to eat the same artisanal dish you published on your website. Being artisanal certainly means that not all creations are the same, but in essence, they must be similar, and unfortunately, your creation was completely different—I'd say remotely different. Regarding the customer's rightfulness, I agree. The customer isn't always right, but I believe customers should be respected, and the aggressive behavior of the owner, as she described herself, was disrespectful and arrogant. The experience I had at your restaurant remains, even if it was negative, but your response as a Michelin-starred chef leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Having a Michelin star doesn't give you the right to respond with a "bullshit" like my friends. We love going to starred restaurants, and for the first time, we found ourselves in this embarrassing situation where the response outweighed the inadequacy of the service provided. By nature, however, I love giving second chances, and I hope one day to be able to change my mind about what happened, about what seemed like love but was actually just a carriage ride. Best regards

07/01/2026: A wonderful experience. Everything was elegant and refined, with innovative dishes, attention to detail and customer service. The chef was very polite and even came to greet us at our table. I didn't like the confirmation message requiring a dress code, and I found the table service a bit intrusive, constantly refilling your water glasses without asking, considering the price is €5 a bottle, compared to the €110 or €130 set menu.

08/02/2026: Excellent restaurant. We tried the pizza, and I have to say it was very good. We also had fried calamari, but it wasn't anything special, which was a shame.

19/01/2026: Tonight we returned to the "Essenza del Gusto" Pizzeria and Pizzeria for pizza, and we were very pleased. The pizzas were delicious. I had a pizza with porchetta and baked potatoes, and it was delicious. My wife had a log, and it was delicious. The fried food was also excellent. The place is very welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly. I recommend it to everyone. We'll definitely be back.

05/04/2026: Delicious pizza, one of the best I've ever eaten. Truly a classic Neapolitan pizza. The prices are competitive. The service is mediocre. There were no seats, and even though they were already cramped, to avoid losing two customers, they took some chairs and a plastic table from outside (it had been raining) and somehow squeezed them in, making the space even more cramped. People passing by (including the waiters) bumped into my chair and the table. Sure, by adding more tables than the available space allowed, we were able to try the food, which was really good, but it would have been more professional to tell us there were no seats and to come back another time. Finally, the atmosphere isn't great. The street is accessible, even if it's not central; it's convenient for those renting or staying in hostels in the area, in addition to the venues, of course, but it's really too narrow and poorly furnished. There are pieces of tape scattered around the room and other items that detract from its aesthetics. They also allow people to scream like crazy—really, I don't think I've ever heard people scream so loudly in a restaurant. Maybe they didn't mean to be rude to the rude customer, but by doing so, they're disrespecting all the other customers who still have good hearing. Anyway, I recommend eating there at least once if you're in the area.

13/03/2026: Very unfortunate encounter in this place where they clearly mistreated us for being tourists. I have been there 3 times, including a couple of days ago with my family and always was treated well and served food and drinks and today the waiter pretended not to understand in any language we spoke, even when showing in the menu he kept refusing. We had to get up and leave. Really upsetting to be treated this way when they should appreciate customers, specially in a city that has thousands of options for pizza and specially that their place is to particularly cozy or well located. I will never return and never recommend it.

01/02/2026: It was a great experience. We came here with our children and were immediately struck by Mr. Lello's friendliness. The place is well-kept, very clean and dry. The appetizers are exceptional and the pizza is very good. It's a classic Neapolitan trattoria-pizzeria like you haven't seen in a while. I'll definitely be back, especially considering the more than reasonable price.

27/12/2025: Their cakes look amazing, they have a laboratorio inside the bar so their items are fresh. The girls are so polite friendly and helpful. Parking can be very hard or might require walking. They are usually open through the usual evening shut down but their sweets and rosticceria are usually gone by lunch time.

01/03/2026: A wonderful experience at this steakhouse in Salerno. The Iberian pork was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked. It paired beautifully with a good wine recommended by the staff. The service was friendly and attentive.

15/02/2026: A decidedly disappointing experience. The restaurant presents itself as sophisticated, with very high prices that suggest a meticulously crafted experience. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different. We had reservations and stood in line for over half an hour alongside other couples in the same situation. We fully understand that it was Saturday and Valentine's Day, so the wait itself wasn't a problem. The problem arose when they let acquaintances and friends of the staff who arrived after us go first and seat them immediately. This was unprofessional and decidedly disrespectful behavior toward those waiting with reservations. The service, overall, was poor: visibly annoyed waiters, a glass of wine practically "thrown" on the table, dishes repeatedly brought to the wrong tables, and no real attention to the customer. The food was certainly good, but the quality of the dishes is beyond reproach. But when you choose a restaurant with high prices, you expect top-notch service. For the same price, you can find restaurants with equally good cuisine but with decidedly superior customer service.

Superlative in every way, both the products (in terms of quality and the sheer selection!) and the extremely friendly staff. If you're looking for a dessert for a special occasion, you'll definitely not be disappointed with Babberia's babbà!

11/03/2026: We went to Pizzeria Gorizia last night, and I have to confirm the positive things I've read in other reviews. The staff were friendly, the place was welcoming, and the food was excellent. We had delicious Italian fried food and various pizzas, from bufalina to pizza stella, all of which were delicious. Highly recommended.
