21/03/2026: We were there on a Saturday evening, the staff were super welcoming, the service excellent and the pizza was really good, I highly recommend it.

30/07/2026: We visited this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was severely impacted by the welcome. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by an extremely rude maître d', who rudely reminded us of the supposed dress code. The problem, however, is that when we made our reservation over the phone, no one had even informed us of this rule. If a restaurant considers the dress code so important, it should clearly communicate this to guests before arrival, rather than making them feel embarrassed once they've entered the room. We also frequent Michelin-starred restaurants, where the level of elegance and professionalism is often far superior, and we've never been greeted with this attitude. Elegance isn't measured by guests' attire, but by their manners and ability to put them at ease. It's a real shame, because the food was good and the cuisine deserves it. Unfortunately, however, a gastronomic experience begins with the welcome, and when you feel judged and uncomfortable before even sitting down, everything else inevitably takes a back seat.

01/06/2026: We had lunch at this cafe/diner, drawn by the numerous positive reviews, and I must say the food was truly excellent: all the dishes we ordered were good, tasty, and well-prepared. The service also initially seemed average. Unfortunately, however, the experience was marred by a very unpleasant incident. During lunch, I found myself having to handle an important and urgent personal matter over the phone. Instead of maintaining discretion and professionalism, a waitress allowed herself to make comments and give me lessons in table manners, without knowing the slightest about the situation. This came across as truly unpleasant and unprofessional. I've never had anything like this happen in many places I've dined. Even when I went to the counter for a coffee, I received further comments on the same topic. I clearly had the feeling that the incident had been discussed among the staff, almost out of curiosity about personal matters that didn't concern anyone else. I found this behavior extremely unprofessional and intrusive. A customer should feel welcomed and respected, not judged or made to feel uncomfortable while dealing with an urgent and unexpected issue of the day, even if it occurs during a relaxing moment like lunch. Discretion and respect for privacy should be the foundation of any business that works with the public. It's a real shame, because the quality of the food was worth it, but such behavior leaves a negative impression that's hard to forget. I don't think I'll ever return to this place, where I presume they didn't even realize their disrespectful behavior toward the customer, who comes first.

26/03/2026: Excellent bar, coffee, pizza, and croissants. You can also have lunch at affordable prices. Free outdoor parking on the main road.

05/08/2026: Good value, well-air-conditioned, and comfortable. Special thanks to Giovanna, who was very helpful, friendly, and attentive to her guests' needs. I was also very impressed by the rest of the staff: everyone was polite, respectful, and always available. A very pleasant experience, I'll gladly return.

14/06/2026: A great bar at Varco Carmine, inside the port of Naples...young and helpful staff...Sicilian pastries and a room for business lunches. Recommended!

19/07/2026: We happened upon this place by chance, ordered a croissant, two pancakes, and a crepe. The total cost was €18. The price isn't questioned, but the quality is extremely poor. The croissant was incredibly hard, and two pancakes looked like the ones in a bag that were supposed to be white Kinder Bueno, but were simply filled with Nutella and crumbled Kinder Bueno. A crepe was a strange color, stuck in your throat, and was too chewy. What can I say? We paid a fortune for four products of a quality that couldn't even be found in the worst croissant shops in Italy. I've been to many, but this one disappointed me terribly. Don't go there!

15/08/2026: Air conditioning with doors open, slow service, tables under the windows in the sun at 40°C, unbearably loud music, bathroom lights that go off after 5 seconds resulting in piss everywhere. Sea bream served with at least 20 oversized fish bones. The dishes never arrived.

01/03/2026: I saw the good reviews and decided to check it out late one night. The place seemed a bit plain when we arrived and I almost changed my mind, but I'm happy that I didn't! I just had a 1.5 eur cornetto and it was amazing. Best bang for buck that I've gotten for sweet pastry in a long time. Ignore appearances, this place is the real deal.

01/05/2026: Simply a fantastic experience! La Taverna di Giulio is one of those places that wins you over from the first moment: a warm, welcoming, and authentic atmosphere. The staff was impeccable, always smiling, attentive, and helpful. We felt truly pampered throughout the meal. The food was exceptional: dishes rich in flavor, prepared with the freshest ingredients and great care. Every course was delicious, but special praise goes to all the appetizer courses—they're a must-try! The value for money is also excellent, more than fair for what's on offer. Highly recommended! I'll definitely be back very soon 👌

21/08/2026: Excellent food, top-notch staff. We've been there twice and would go back. If you have a small problem, they'll fix it in a flash. Something I haven't found in other restaurants. You're the best.

18/08/2026: NEVER AGAIN. What an unpleasant dinner! Cuttlefish and potatoes, the only dish that was even slightly edible, and I say edible because the others were truly CRAZY. Let's talk about it: - "Anchovies with nghiappate" appetizer, 3 in number, which when stuffed together become 6, and that's fine, with a filling that's USELESS in terms of flavor and lacking in salt (even though I know that with anchovies you start with a salty base), but things still need to be tasted, and the presence of 5 cherry tomatoes thrown in there and slightly wilted from who knows what type of cooking, since the entire dish arrived cold. As well as all the others except the last one, which I'll tell you about; at least I'll say it once and I don't have to repeat it. - Tonnarelli with clams, good clams (lucky them), but the pasta was not only small in size, but also so al dente that I'd compare it to clotheslines, taut and hard that they couldn't even be rolled up on a fork. Unlike the last dish I ordered (thankfully). - Mixed with seafood and beans. HELP. And help, because the pasta was overcooked. This one, fortunately, arrived hot because it was perhaps risotto-style, but only halfway through, because it was completely loose and all the sauce, if you can call it that, was at the bottom. Perhaps "acqua di pace" (water of peace) better conveys the idea. The beans were incredibly hard and crunched under your teeth (wow, how pleasant). So don't tell me this is how the dish is made, because I think I can say for myself that this dish is anything but correct. And to top it all off, there were small broken shells that unexpectedly fell under your teeth, and the whole dish was flavorless. Then I think of another ridiculous thing: do different people in the kitchen take turns making the first courses? No, because if the tonnarello with clams weighed 80g, it was a lot, when the mixed pasta was 1kg of pasta, well, consistency in the weight of dishes from the same batch, like in this case with the first courses, is quite curious. Having said all this, even the tables next to ours complained; they had to make do with non-existent relationships to benefit, but they were even forced to send dishes back to the kitchen. We watched without batting an eyelid, but were nonetheless consoled by the fact that we weren't the only ones with the same opinion. Now I'd like to say one last thing: this is also my job, and I NEVER review, as you can see from my profile, precisely because I often find it ungrateful, so my policy has always been to keep to myself, for better or worse. But with this dinner, unfortunately, I couldn't. I hope that as a restaurant you can find a solution to all this, that the kitchen can find its place and at least serve dishes that are a little more edible than this, because last night I felt cheated. Not so much by the owners, even though they are partially interested, but also because I'd like to compliment the courtesy and good manners of the gentleman, perhaps the owner, who took our order. I really liked it... but by my fellow chefs, even knowing the hard work that goes into this job and what you do, we cannot humanly serve dishes like this to people who give us their money in exchange because it would be like stealing from them. And whoever wrote "open-faced robbery" is unfortunately right. And ultimately, I just feel sorry for all this. Because I too have read negative reviews about myself and I just had to acknowledge them and try to handle the situation as best I could.

21/10/2025: Nice spot, close to the road, parking seemed to be possible and the pizza had a nice crispy base, loaded with ingredients. They had tap beer which waa a surprise and the staff friendly and attentive to the guests.

18/10/2025: Some items are good, others average. Some staff are lovely others not so much. Due to the massive swings, I feel from my experience this place sits at a 3 for now

07/09/2025: Delicious pastry shop! The girl behind the counter with the blue eyes was really kind, I would have loved to chat with her. I came to the pastry shop a couple of times just to see her, haha, between last night and this morning, but there are always lots of people getting their pastries. Highly recommended!
