31/05/2026: I ordered this cake for my mother's 70th birthday, and the result exceeded all expectations. I requested it over the phone, and Ilaria, despite not knowing me and having never met me, understood perfectly what I wanted. I was looking for a simple, joyful, and above all delicious cake. I asked for a classic cream and strawberry filling, with a more balanced sweetness because today's cakes are often overly sugary. They made me a beautiful cake, decorated with delicate cream roses (which I hadn't mentioned, but which I prefer over the usual sugar paste decorations), with attention to detail but without being overdone. And above all, it was truly delicious: soft, fresh, balanced, and loved by all the guests. Finally, a cake that tastes like a real cake, made to be eaten and savored, not just photographed for social media. In a time when aesthetics often seem to matter more than flavor, at Baffo d'Oro I rediscovered quality, simplicity, and authenticity. 16/12/2025: The place is very large, the decor a bit run-down. It has a shabby feel, perhaps because of the low season. I ordered an octopus salad, a bit cold but not bad, but it was sparse; there was no celery, a few cherry tomatoes, nothing. Then came the scampi linguine, which was neither praise nor infamy, and a pre-packaged sorbet. Beautiful plating isn't enough if quality doesn't support the whole! Overall, I didn't have a bad meal, but the service was truly lacking and unprofessional. The quality-price ratio was very poor: €50 for a beer, an appetizer, and a first course; €6 for a commercial sorbet that costs less than a euro at the supermarket. And it doesn't end there: the bill was given on a slip of paper with no fiscal value, without a receipt. I don't recommend it.

14/06/2026: Absolutely to be avoided. Yesterday I had the misfortune of stopping at this location, welcomed wonderfully like any host. We sat down at a table for 7/8, greeted by Mohammed, who was very kind. He ordered drinks. He suggested that if we also added food it would only cost €3, emphasizing that "only" wasn't on the agenda, but we ordered. We were soothed and treated well by the staff, until alas, this pompous owner showed up, trying in every way to be nice, but he just couldn't do it. Anyway, from that moment on, the feeling of being soothed turned into psychological pressure: you order or you simply get up. Let me start by saying that we didn't sit for 3 hours with a bottle of water, but we consumed food and drinks. For this mysterious owner, it wasn't enough, we should have ordered more and more quickly. We were told he didn't consider us "customers" because his customers consume at a frenetic pace. We felt humiliated, insulted, and undeniably rude and arrogant. I urge everyone not to go to this place, not because of the food and drinks you find everywhere in Vomero, but simply because of the owner, who should understand that this isn't how you treat customers. This place is definitely one to avoid.

14/06/2026: A pleasant and inviting place for an aperitif and a social gathering with friends. I recommend that the manager include the "service times" on the menu in addition to the prices, so as to avoid being rudely kicked out simply because the price-to-time ratio isn't favorable.

19/04/2026: We arrived at 9:00 PM on a Friday. It wasn’t crowded, but we had a reservation anyway. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The portions were generous, and the flavors were absolutely on point. There were two of us, and aside from a small language barrier that caused a slight misunderstanding, everything went smoothly. The pasta was delicious, and the fried seafood was just as amazing. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely love to come back if we’re ever in the area again.

16/06/2026: Slow and poor customer service. Booked through Smartbox for Thursday, June 11th. I received a cancellation call due to a fire during the night. I requested written notification of the cancellation. I will independently look for alternative accommodations since they were unable to resolve the issue. To date, I have not received an email despite having contacted and requested accommodations twice by email and phone. Updates to follow.

02/05/2026: An impromptu dinner, even though this place was open on May 1st and the staff was impeccably helpful. It might not be the best, but it's a great place for a family evening.

10/05/2025: Three weeks in Italy and the four dishes we tried here were the four worst if the trip. If you like wine this is likely your favorite place for the variety. Less stars as it is very expensive bad food. Very nice place, very nice people, 40E per person and left hungry.
