18/07/2025: Il ristorante ha, dei tavoli all' aperto, il menù non è ampio ma con prodotti di qualità. Gli affettati, e la guancia molto erano buoni. Bisogna prenotare specialmente quando ci sono feste a Spello.

Having lived in Umbria for the past four and a half years, we have grown to truly appreciate fine food and wine, and for me as a passionate food and wine lover, there is simply no better place than this culinary jewel in Montone. Chef Giancarlo Polito is more than just a master in the kitchen... he is a true gentleman. His genuine care for his guests and his dedication to creating unforgettable dining experiences set this restaurant apart. Every visit feels special, thanks to the perfect combination of exquisite cuisine, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay much longer. We absolutely love it here, and La Locanda del Capitano continues to be one of the highlights of our life in Umbria.

24/08/2025: Quick pizza?! Apparently not! We arrived at 8:00 PM and ate our two Margherita pizzas at 9:30 PM! Despite our urging, no one bothered to say anything. The best part? People who arrived after us were already paying the bill!

Kind and friendly staff, easy-going, TV that allows you to have that extra background that you don't mind, really nice and cool terrace, at least in June, exquisite food! I recommend appetizers of Umbrian cold cuts with the typical torta al testo, umbricelli alla Spoletina, tortelli stuffed with ricotta and spinach and the sliced ​​beef!!! Everything was super good, congratulations guys! 😊Bob was also very nice 😉

20/10/2025: I opened the menu and immediately caught sight of the plate of homemade gnocchi with a Sagrantino reduction, and I had a good idea. Fantastic! 😍

23/09/2025: I have just had the worst meal ever in Italy. The salad was tasteless and the shrimp suspect, the hamburger was an inedible slab of freezer pressed meat. This place is good for a drink but I would rather eat anywhere else.

28/11/2025: We visited this restaurant during Eurochocolate week. The place is comfortable and well-kept. The menu is varied, with excellent food quality. My only criticism, if I may, is that the owner should welcome customers with a smile. Customers should feel welcome. That said, I recommend it.

17/10/2025: Historic restaurant located in the city's most beautiful square. The welcome was unprofessional, as was the service: they were generally inattentive and rude. On the other hand, we were fortunate to be seated with very kind and welcoming locals. The food was exceptional! Overall, I consider the experience positive.
