18/04/2025: We really liked this restaurant. The food was all delicious! We ordered the steak tartar as a starter, and as a first course the meat with potatoes and the fish of the day with vegetables, and everything was very good. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the staff very kind. Pasquale was very nice to us.

05/05/2025: Tourist restaurant which however only has tourists because the menu has all the characteristics of excellent home cooking. Everything was delicious, excellent homemade pasta, excellent ravioli. But the tiramisu is truly exceptional, one of the best I've ever tasted. If we then season everything with the friendliness, kindness and friendliness of all the staff, I can only highly recommend trying it, it's really worth it.

24/04/2025: A very traditional restaurant that has likely lost its way due to its success with US tourists. The homemade tordelli are okay, but otherwise the menu is uninspired and lacking in quality. The wine list is good, but about half of the local wines are no longer available. The service is as it should be. Mass processing. You sit in the cellar. Not uncomfortable, but not pleasant either. Prices are high, but reasonable. Overall, a shame, because it all just missed a really good restaurant experience. My tip: go there if you can't find anything better.

05/05/2025: A restaurant where trash reigns supreme in all its aspects, from the decor to the waitresses, through the service and the menu. Unfortunately, the food is barely mediocre in quality and does not justify a visit to the place. Not recommended unless you want to have a very special evening.

29/03/2025: First amazing Florentina steak!! Homemade gnocchi yummy. Atmosphere was wonderful. A must go and make sure to make reservations.
25/03/2025: The atmosphere would be nice inside but you always end up in the plasticized veranda outside, which frankly is a bit sad. The food was good, even if in Lucca there is certainly better, but the real problem was the exhausting slowness of the service. It took us an hour and 40 for a cold appetizer and a first course, incredible!

28/04/2025: We ate in this Osteria for lunch and the place is easily found when entering Lucca from Porta Elisa and going towards the centre. Very kind and quality food, we recommend the tagliolini with truffle (because with real truffle flakes). We gave the place 4 stars, only because it is a small place, but very nice and well kept.

10/04/2025: It's a lovely place in a lovely Piazza and the service was excellent. But I got to tell you.... I left my whole plate of food and my wife left half of hers. The pasta was super fresh but ...low quality meat. Too much gristle. Too much fat.

07/05/2025: Trovato per caso cercando il nostro b&b, ancora con i bagagli, veniamo attratti dalla scritta "il trippaio di Lucca", prenotiamo per pranzo e tale è la soddisfazione per la cucina genuina e tipica al 100% e per la convivialità del locale che decidiamo di tornare per cena!
06/05/2025: Ottima trattoria Lucchese con cibo saporito e di qualità. Buona la zuppa e un plauso in particolare al loro coniglio e al pane favoloso che servono nei tavoli. Buon Vino Santo con cantucci.
Il locale è piccolo e con tavoli molto vicini fra loro,è necessario prenotare.

07/04/2025: Overall very good dishes. I took the two off the menu, pici with mushrooms and sausage and cheek with very good mashed potatoes. The bread is also good. The desserts are nothing special.
Very quick and helpful service.
It is advisable to book. Competitive prices and generous portions.
07/04/2025: It is an ancient trattoria specializing in typical Tuscan peasant cuisine. Over time it has expanded to become a restaurant well known by foreign tourists as well as Italians. The dishes are varied but all typical, faithfully adhering to Tuscan cuisine. The portions are generous. The staff is very kind, fast and professional.

24/04/2025: Really nice restaurant. Very busy and lively but that’s ok with us. The food menu is not very extensive but the portions are really good size and very tasty. This was our go to place when staying in Lucca and both times we were not disappointed at all.
24/04/2025: The place is always full, very cozy. The food is delicious. "Filetto di manzo" is crumbly and tasty. The "tiny" pecorono and pepper homemade pasta was downright divine.

11/03/2025: Saw this restaurant walking by ... it looked like it had a good ambiance with outdoor seating & most importantly, truffles on the menu.
The tagliatelle with black truffles was good but the tagliatelle was a tad too thick. The gnocchi with Chianina ragu was delicious.
The tiramisu was excellent .
09/03/2025: Osteria inside the walls of Lucca. Very nice atmosphere inside, with a wide choice of dishes, perhaps a little too many. Good but not great food

Come antipasto una porzione di prosciutto Patanegra ,da dividersi , strapieno di grasso ,veramente troppo e tagliato troppo grossolanamente al coltello... parevano bistecche , il tutto accompagnato da 2 porzioni di crostini misti fatti con pane moscio e senza un gusto ben definito... del tutto anonimi.
Come secondo baccalà coi porri per me ,un vera delusione ,il pesce era acquoso e crudo come anche i porri erano indietro di cottura ,era da tantissimo tempo che non lmi capitava di lasciare,quasi tutto il cibo nel piatto... la qualità del baccalà congelato è molto bassa ma il modo di come è stato cucinato lo è ancora di piu... immangiabile!! .Buona la trippa alla lucchese e la focaccia pane. Servizio, abbastanza attento e gentile. Sono rimasto deluso anche dalla scarsissima possibilità di scelta della birra , moretti da 66 cl o spina, nonostante questo sia ristorante pizzeria.
Il rapporto qualità prezzo è molto sbilanciato.... Sconsigliato!!!!
25/02/2025: Capitati lì sulla strada di ritorno a casa. Abbiamo mangiato una buonissima e abbondante tagliata con rucola e parmigiano, seguita da un buon dolce locale chiamato "piatto forte". Consigliato. Parcheggio ampio, locale non grande ma accogliente. Camerieri simpatici pronti alla battuta che ti mettono a tuo agio.
