26/08/2025: We were fooled by a recommendation from someone in Lucca. I have to say, I'm totally disappointed. The food really is 1 out of 5.
17/08/2025: The quality of the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming and charming, creating the perfect setting for our dinner. The service was impeccable; the staff was not only kind and professional, but also extremely attentive, without ever being intrusive. They surprised us with various tastings of typical specialties, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

12/08/2025: Il posto è veramente bello e caratteristico, bello sia nella parte interna che esterna! Il rumore dell acqua fa da sottofondo alle portate. Tordelli eccezionali, molto buono pollo e carciofi fritti!! Il tiramisù super. Posto consigliato. Scoperto per caso su internet mi sono fidata delle recensioni ed ho fatto bene. Personale veramente gentile, ottimo anche il prezzo. Verusca

12/07/2025: Terrible experience. We booked for 9:30 and upon arrival, we were told we'd have to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Despite this, we only managed to get seated at 10:30, which is a shame because the meat was excellent.
29/06/2025: One of our favorite places for un-fussy basic Tuscan cuisine. Fun and casual atmosphere. Also a great pizza menu. Big with locals in the Camaiore area.

Scadente. Non tipico toscano.Menù per turisti stranieri . Primi banali e cucinati male. Ritardo nel servizio. Vino della casa decisamente annacquato . Location carina ma con troppi tavoli. Foto di divi all’ingresso: un passato glorioso o uno specchietto per le allodole?

27/08/2025: The best restaurant we've eaten at in Lucca. We came based on the recommendations, and we weren't disappointed. It's located on the street surrounding the Piazza del Anfiteatro. It has a decent menu, with quality and well-prepared dishes.
We ordered gnocchi and meat in Tuscan sauce, reduced with red wine. The latter came with a very tasty side dish, a kind of puree, but very different from ours.

14/08/2025: The bruschetta was rock-hard and lacked any onions, etc., just two slices of tomato on cold, rock-hard bread. The pizza wasn't truly Italian: too much cheese, the crust too thick. The young waitress was unmotivated and rude. Overall, not a good experience—a shame.

08/06/2025: Thankyou for creating a table for us when we arrived after cycling from Lucca without a reservation. We feel blessed to experience La dolce vita in your pretty restaurant.
We loved the crostini pate, the bean casserole was exquisite (in English I'd describe it as a creamy bean muffin♥️) and my stuffed zucchini flowers were delicious.

25/05/2025: Today we had lunch in this restaurant, what can I say, dishes with the flavor of the past, classic Tuscan appetizer, spelt soup and macaroni nettle and porcini mushrooms to die for, for the second course trout fillet and fried chicken with vegetables and to finish sgroppino. Courteous and friendly staff, we will return.

I ordered the mixed platter, and the quality of the cured meats and cheeses was simply excellent. The pappardelle with wild boar ragù was sublime...the ragù was truly flavorful and the portions generous. Overall, the portions were more than satisfying.
Excellent value for money.
HIGHLY recommend!!

01/08/2025: My appetizer was completely forgotten, and I had to ask repeatedly and for a long time to finally pay! I've never experienced having to wait to pay. Not recommended, at least for tourists!
26/07/2025: Rustic atmosphere and excellent food. Every time we're in the area, we take the opportunity to dine here, and I highly recommend it. The table in front of the fireplace is my favorite! The cuisine is traditional Tuscan, with a focus on tradition and flavors! The staff always make you feel welcome and offer the best recommendations. The wines are excellent, too! Congratulations!

I found another person behind the counter, perhaps management changed, but the service was good.
Good coffee, sweet piece reheated on the spot (frozen pastry).
25/05/2025: For cyclists it is a great place to have a coffee and a slice of cake. Nice view from the terrace.

26/04/2025: Ristorante molto carino e cibo molto buono, specialmente il cinghiale con la polenta, veramente eccezionale! Anche le pappardelle al ragù bianco sono state un felice sorpresa! Non abbiamo preso gli antipasti, ma la prossima volta li proverò perché sono abbondanti e soprattutto vari. Consigliatissimo!

19/07/2025: Ottimo ristorante iniziando con un buon antipasto toscano con del pane buonissimo e in particolare il pane con l'uva passa che non mangiavo da anni.
Per primo piatto mio marito ha preso i tordelli ed anche questi erano eccellenti
La pasta fatta a mano...ed il ragù era buonissimo
Secondo piatto la tagliata cotta in modo impeccabile per i gusti di mio marito
Io ho preso una Margherita veramente buona

01/06/2025: Durante una vacanza di 3 giorni ad Altopascio mi è stato consigliato il Ristorante “ da Coso”, che è risultato a conduzione famigliare. Il proprietario è gentilissimo e cordiale mettendo a proprio agio gli avventori. La cucina è tipica ed ottima come il servizio. Ottimo il rapporto prezzo/qualità
