We had a truly wonderful meal: the quality of the food was high and it showed in every dish. The staff was incredibly courteous and attentive throughout the meal. Special thanks to the owner, who even gave us a gift of Sicilian cantucci. We'll definitely be back!

We spent two days in the beautiful city of Ferrara, but only this evening did we stumble upon the SORPASSO restaurant.
We know a lot about food, and I speak good Italian. 😁 WE found a truly excellent place. The staff are knowledgeable about everything;
from the welcome, to the courtesy, to the cuisine.

After two days of eating around, asking for chili peppers and they brought me paprika, here at Sorpasso the chili peppers arrived. 🥰

Excellent lunch. I recommend the pasta with anchovy butter, a taste of the anchovy meatballs, and, if you're up for it, the salami with sauce and mashed potatoes.
Price is reasonable (about €45 per person, including wine). The place may be a little cramped in the winter months.

I've been there many times, and it's a must to stop in at least once and enjoy it thoroughly. Superb wines and excellent service. You too can surpass them!

A well-known restaurant located in Ferrara's historic center, its cuisine is different from typical Ferrarese cuisine. It offers a very interesting menu with a revisited Sicilian twist, thanks to the chef's Sicilian roots.
They're very attentive to the quality of the food and the wines offered.
The unusual dessert selection is also interesting and noteworthy.
I recommend booking well in advance, although WhatsApp is also available.
The seating at the tables could be improved, especially those for two people, as there's not much space, and the acoustics could also be improved when the place is full.
Ultimately, this is a place worth promoting, trying, and even returning to.
