21/08/2025: One of the last places where you can eat traditional food. No fish, no pizza; the specialty is meat, especially boiled and roasted meats. Reservations are highly recommended for both dinner and lunch. Prices are fair for what you get. Ask for the daily specials, which vary seasonally. Fast service, highly recommended.

13/08/2025: A sublime terrace, courteous and professional service, refined and traditional cuisine. We were only two families on this Wednesday evening, so the service was very attentive. We had an appetizer, then complimentary petits fours for dessert, we were delighted. In short, it's a completely charming place.

07/09/2025: We stayed in an agroturismo nearby and this restaurant was recommended, it was so lovely! The owners are adorable, the chef is very kind and she took the time to explain all the dishes. The food was truly delicious, the kind of dishes that are simple but exquisitely done. We paid 74€ for a whole bottle of white wine (very good), a primo piatti for each (pasta), buffet of delicious meat with vegetables and two deserts. It was a lovely evening for us on our honeymoon and we highly recommend this place. Thank you again!

02/09/2025: This trattoria offers a traditional Reggio Emilia menu. We ordered tortelli with walnut filling and cappelletti with porcini mushrooms. Both were delicious, exceeding our expectations. It's rare to find anything other than the classic cappelletti, and when you do find them, it's always a win-win. These guys, however, are truly excellent. The service is a bit hit and miss, and there's room for improvement, but overall it's adequate. The price is average; I recommend trying it.

31/08/2025: What a find. Wonderful local restaurant, esting outside. Great waiter who was very eager to use his German language skills ok us (we are Dutch, but our German is better than our Italian so great combo). Beautiful local foods as per the name (nothing has to travel to get used). Unfortunately some dishes were sold out but who cares if the food is this good. The ossobucco my husband had and my long braised beef were beautiful and tender. Great dolci as well. Thanks to all!

28/08/2025: The food is excellent. The setting is very friendly and the staff is professional. This is a restaurant you absolutely must visit.

04/07/2025: Canossa, where time has not moved. Invited by a friend from Reggio to try the typical cuisine of the area, we were really enthusiastic! The restaurant has proudly remained in the 70s, the walls and furniture exude the history of the city. The menu is traditional Emilia, with lots of meat and accompanying sauces, boiled meat is clearly a must! The plating is not important, here the important thing is the authentic flavors and the abundant portions. The service is familiar, in the sense that you feel just like family and the waiting times are secondary. It is worth highlighting the waiter who serves you directly at the table with the cart of meats still on the fire and cut at the moment, which is something almost folkloristic and for which the price is worth it (which cannot be cheap, given the choice, the quality and the abundance, ed.). If you are in the Reggio area and want to try real Reggio cuisine, you definitely have to go to Canossa.

07/08/2025: Congratulations!!! I ate the Fassona beef tartare with truffle, roast potatoes, and grilled vegetables. I tried tigelle and then lemon sorbet. I drank Lambrusco 'Bacca Rossa' by Il Villico. Everything was very good. I'll definitely be back.

17/08/2025: I went there to eat an excellent zuppa inglese, because I was passing through, we will return for a full meal, all the customers present were very satisfied with the food consumed, well-kept retro environment, it almost feels like eating in someone's home, family atmosphere, all friendly waiters and owner, recommended!!

16/08/2025: Yesterday I was in Brescello and stopped for lunch with my family at LOCOMOTIVA - GASTRONOMIA. I had a wonderful time. The waitress was very friendly, kind, and helpful, and the food was simply delicious! I had the pumpkin tortelli, and they were simply phenomenal, as were the gnocco fritto and the exquisite cured meats! I highly recommend this place, and most importantly, they're dog-friendly! 14/08/2025: We went yesterday to try the fried gnocco... what can I say? It was delicious, not at all greasy, and above all, it was kneaded and fried on the spot! Suffice it to say that there were four of us and we ate enough for six... The very kind owner took care to fry a few at a time so we could always eat it hot, truly attentive to the customer's needs! The excellent cured meats pair well with the excellent, chilled Lambrusco! The place is fresh and very clean. Anyone stopping by to say hello to the fantastic Don Camillo or dear Mayor Peppone must absolutely dive in and try the delicacies. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

26/08/2025: The owner was confused and incompetent. The bill included a coffee for €2.50 and a long coffee for €4.00, which was billed as a double coffee. At the end, they asked us if we could shout out a nocino, we said yes, and then they made us pay for it.

23/08/2025: A typical Emilian trattoria serving local specialties. Generous and delicious portions. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Pet-friendly.
