05/05/2026: Fantastic food and service! We arrived late into Salerno due to train delay and stumbled upon Osteria dei Sapori. So glad we did! We sat outside next and surrounded by Italian music and murals. What a great family restaurant!

30/04/2026: A pleasant family evening. The atmosphere was welcoming and full of elegant decorative objects. The staff was very polite and attentive to all our needs. The cuisine was impeccable in terms of quality and unique dishes, while also respecting tradition. I really appreciated the attention paid to vegetarians at our table. We will definitely be back.

26/05/2026: We really enjoyed the gelato. Creamy and good quality. There's seating inside and two benches outside. The price is moderately high, but the quality of the product is unquestionable. They also have lactose-free flavors.

19/04/2026: While traveling along the Amalfi Coast, this was the only place where I felt the vibe of the real Italy. The food was amazing—very delicious with huge portions. The waitress was super friendly; even though she didn’t speak English, she used Google Translate to communicate! 🥰

13/05/2026: A while ago, I wrote a positive review. The pizzeria has changed management. Unfortunately, I have to say I'm not exactly happy: in the last four times I've had takeout pizzas, one was excellent, and the other three were always worse. On the three occasions when I'm absolutely unhappy, there's a young boy... Perhaps at a certain hour, given the young age of the pizza chef, they need to change. The oven, which works so hard, needs to be cleaned more often, otherwise the highly carcinogenic carbon dioxide takes over, as in the photos. It may be a coincidence, but every time the boy is there making pizzas, there's almost no basil, the crust of the "original" pizza is a result of tiredness (perhaps), and the pizza is burnt. See photo.... Yes, four times. Once I found two older boys, and I have to say, great pizza! On the other three occasions when I found a boy who's maybe not even a teenager (I think he's under 15), it's a disaster!!!! See the photo. Fast service, nice place, but the kid still has a lot to figure out, first and foremost that those who come late get the same money as those who come early, and that the oven needs to be cleaned, especially if it's working so hard! Carbon dioxide is highly carcinogenic, someone should explain that to him.... Nothing to say about the two older kids I met the only time: perfect pizza. You can see the difference in the photos: show them to the kid!!!!

29/12/2025: Yesterday I went to this cupcake shop with my cousins, who had raved about it. When I entered, there were a lot of people, and it was Saturday! Our turn came, and we got two Kinder Bueno cupcakes with Nutella, one Bounty, a brownie, and a Kinder hot chocolate! When I tasted the Kinder Bueno one, I was in heaven. It was delicious. The owner of the shop was very friendly, like a mother, and gave us lots of advice. Finally, with some collection points, she gave us the most expensive one. In short, we definitely want to go back.

30/05/2026: Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations! I had very high expectations for this historic trattoria. I ordered pasta e fagioli (pasta and beans) and cod with racanat sauce. The pasta e fagioli was more like a baked pasta and beans dish, with the pasta overcooked inside (I don't know if that's the traditional way to make it here, but it didn't convince me). The cod was good, although I expected a little more oomph. As for the service, it wasn't anything special. It's a shame because the dishes are truly inviting visually and the promise was excellent.

19/01/2026: A welcoming and clean place with friendly and helpful staff. The products are truly delicious, not overly sweet, but very balanced in flavor. The prices are fair and don't vary for lactose-free options. The only suggestion is to add a few more small tables to the other rectangular ones, perhaps replacing the small sofa.

10/05/2026: I had dinner at this restaurant, I had mixed fried food, cod marinated in olive oil, and courgette flowers with cod and lemon mousse. The fried food was a bit dark in color but was very good, the cod marinated in olive oil was good but not excellent, the courgette flowers were terrible, very bitter... I was afraid of cucurbitacin poisoning... I told the waitress and no one came to apologize, I even had to pay 12 euros for them... I will never go back.

26/05/2026: As a tourist, this was a very busy, truly authentic, large, relatively modern local restaurant recommended by our AirBnB host. Note, in the evening, does not open till 7:45pm. They catered carefully for my need for gluten free food (coeliac). I was able to have gluten free spaghetti vongole which seemed like a house speciality and was delicious. The appetizers included gluten free zucchini flower!! They offered me gluten free tiramisu (!!) but I was too full. While close to the beach, it does not have views.

18/05/2026: A welcoming and well-kept restaurant, ideal for a quiet lunch or a relaxed dinner. Friendly service, served by Antonio, who was welcoming and professional, and a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are beautifully presented, with fresh ingredients enhanced by a balanced and tasty seafood cuisine.

21/04/2026: To visit the church you must purchase a ticket. As the time of writing there were two options to chose from: Full ticket, so you could visit the 4 different attractions in the city center, including San Matteo and San Gregorio VII churches. All sites can be visited in less than two hours and that's an overestimation. The other ticket option is a two-attraction ticket, which as the name suggests, allows you to visit two churches of your choice. The tickets were (full price) 12€ and 8€ respectively. If you want to choose only two, I'd recommend the Duomo di Santa Maria degli Angeli and San Gregorio VII. They are just stunning! However, the star of the show here is San Matteo crypt. I went in completely clueless and had one heck of a surprise when I entered the room. Nothing can prepare you for its beauty and the sheer complexion of the adornments and decorations this crypt holds.

16/04/2026: KING OF SPAGHETTI ! What fun to be back in beautiful Salerno ! My wife and I arrived here for a 6 day vacation on Thurs, March 27th after a long private limo drive from Florence. Martin our good friend and limo / tour driver dropped us off a short distance from our 4th floor Airbnb on Corso Vittorio Emanuele....the ( mostly ) pedestrian mall which runs the length of downtown Salerno. We intended to revisit most of the restaurants, cafes and gelato shops we loved during our 4 day visit here 18 months ago...and find some new ones ! In fact during dinner that first night at a very good pizzeria one of the staff suggested Al Dente to us...said it was very good. On Saturday we set off along the pedestrian mall and arrived here around 1.30pm to grab some lunch. THE PLACE WAS PACKED OUT ! As soon as we entered the eatery I ran into Mauro the very friendly manager who seated us at a table immediately...the only one in sight. GREAT VIBE ! Everywhere I looked I could see contented diners enjoying their spaghetti dishes. BEER ! Mauro was the right guy to talk to and brought me an ice cold Mastri Birra Umbri IPA with a tall stem glass straight off the bat. VERY SATISFYING ! This was an American style IPA - 6.5% abv and a pleasure to drink . FOOD ! There was an enormous selection on the menu. My wife ordered BACON AND EGG ( Fresh organic eggs, pecorino romano DOP, Norcia bacon, black pepper ) while I decided on TOMATO AND BACON ( Norcia bacon, San Marzano DOP tomato, Pecorino Romano DOP and black pepper ). POPULAR PLACE ! I noticed that every time a table was vacated it was taken straight away. FAST SERVICE ! Our beautiful looking dishes arrived faster than the bullet train. SPAGHETTI HEAVEN ! Our perfectly made meals tasted extraordinary...these guys have got it down to a fine art. We paid the bill and thanked Mauro the cool manager, Veronica & Giuseppe the kind servers....got selfies of course ! Without a doubt we would have come back again but we had a very full schedule ahead of us. ONE OF OUR BEST DINING EXPERIENCES IN ITALY !

16/04/2026: The restaurant is welcoming with its modern shapes. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is very kind with you. I appreciated the possibility to see the kitchen, because there aren't walls or any kind of separation. The dishes are great and portions are correct for the price. The menu is not so full of dishes, but everyone of it needs to be tried once upon a time. I strongly recommend this restaurant, mostly if you want to spend an enjoyable evening with your friends or colleges.
