03/03/2026: A tiny but very cute place with unique draft beers and an endless selection of bottled beers. I drank a very good chestnut ale. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, like being at a friend's house. There's no menu, but you can bring your own food or order something from the street. A great compromise between a small place and great options. Worth a visit.

07/06/2026: Super local food. Friendly and informal service. Small but very charming place, full of curious objects. We ordered a platter and two first courses accompanied by water and a glass of wine, followed by two desserts. Everything was good and tasty for a total of just over €50. I highly recommend it. A little tricky to get to if you're coming from the surrounding villages, but it's definitely worth it.

27/12/2025: Truly excellent, we'd been there several years ago, always top notch. The appetizers were amazing, the pappardelle with wild boar was excellent, and the carbon cake was delicious. The carbon placemat was cute.

16/06/2026: We chose this property based on the excellent reviews, but the experience didn't meet our expectations. The breakfast was rather poor, with little choice and dry croissants. The double bed was actually two singles, the windows lacked screens, and the air conditioning was very noisy. The pool was under maintenance, but this wasn't mentioned when we booked. The worst part was that, after the room was cleaned, the door was left wide open with all our belongings inside. This was an unacceptable lack of attention to safety. Nothing concrete was done to address this incident. The owner simply repeated his embarrassment every time we met, but offered no solution. This ended up creating an uncomfortable situation every time we left the property.

15/05/2026: We stopped for a quick lunch in the afternoon, well after lunchtime, and found a gem of a place. We ordered a platter and the cacio e pepe gnocchi, and everything was excellent. Their homemade tiramisu was also delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the prices were excellent!

20/11/2025: Enoteca is a great wine store in the heart of old town Pisa. We purchased wines for our son’s wedding weekend, and Salvatore was very, very friendly, helpful and accommodating. He suggested wines that were fantastic, and offered to deliver them to us in Gello, which really helped us. His recommendations were perfect and we had many guests remark on the quality of the wines he suggested. Great service, great selection, and great value is what Salvatore provides. Thank you! We will return!

04/04/2026: It was a truly fantastic meal. The whole family was delighted with the quality of the food. The waiters were also very friendly and welcoming, explaining all the restaurant's specialties. The menu includes typical dishes not found elsewhere. The sweet and spicy wild boar was superb!! We highly recommend it!!!

02/04/2026: I was out with my girlfriend, riding my motorcycle, and we chose this place to eat because it was close to where we'd parked our bike. The place is very welcoming, with an old-fashioned style that fits in well with the town. The waiter was very kind in explaining the tavern's typical and unique dishes and wines, which are what we ordered, and we didn't regret it. Terrine as an appetizer, along with fried artichokes, followed by Etruscan-style pici and sweet and sour wild boar—unusual dishes that absolutely must be tried. If you're passing through Volterra, I recommend stopping by. Since it's a unique menu, it's a little more expensive than usual, but that's to be expected, and it's worth it.

07/06/2026: Small place, the immediate impression is that it's not very clean, especially because of the smell... Two portions of cecina (maybe 100 grams each?) and a small bottle of water for €20.00... I asked twice to confirm the price. The owner doesn't exactly exude friendliness... Never again! There are countless other places in Pisa where you can eat excellent cecina for a quarter of the price. Not recommended. I'll add a few words based on the response I received. I asked twice about the correctness of the bill; I couldn't have been in his head to know he'd charged me for the drinks of two other customers who came in after us. However, the words and tone used only confirm my opinion. 😉👋

10/05/2026: The cecina and focaccia were perfect, as was the assortment of ingredients in the various options: it was hard to choose because they were all excellent! Definitely worth a try.
