09/08/2025: Going to start by saying the food was very good, my compliments to the chef. However the service and experience was TERRIBLE. I'm not sure if the chef was having a bad day or not but he was being a little arrogant and standoffish. The guy looked depressed and upset the entire time too. Our first experience at a place like this, and it was ruined by a bad attitude. Not just us, others too.

05/08/2025: We visited Zeb about a week ago, curious to try the dishes many have spoken positively about, despite reading some less-than-glowing comments about the chef. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the hype. That day, they were only accepting cash, which made things tricky. As a group, we were limited in what we could order since there are no nearby ATMs. Regarding the chef—many of the comments were accurate. His manner was surprisingly rude, and there seemed to be a stark difference in how he treated Italian-speaking guests compared to others. He profoundly apologised to italian guests for the cash inconvinience and explained in detail where to find the closest ATM. English speaking customers merely got told in a cold manner about it. When my partner asked which pasta was creamy, like a carbonara, he was laughed at in a condescending manner and asked if he saw carbonara in the menu...which is not what he meant at all. While I understand the chef has crafted this menu, the way it’s presented, with pressure to decide on the spot, makes it difficult to ask questions without feeling belittled. It definitely took away from the overall dining experience. While the chef was reading the menu, the waiter came to pour us some water. As the chef wants undivided attention, he stopped reading the menu and we all awkwardly watched this poor waiter shake while trying to pour 4 glasses of water. Only when finished, did the chef continue reading the menu. It was awful to watch. As for the food: of the three dishes we tried, only one stood out—the ravioli with pear. Unfortunately, the peposo was overwhelmingly peppery and unbalanced, and the rice-filled tomato was bland and underwhelming—something you’d expect from a basic home recipe or a generic restaurant. Disappointingly, the dishes we were most looking forward to, the lengua and tripe, weren’t available that day. Overall, the experience was disappointing—from the atmosphere to the food and service. Given the prices and michelin recommendation, we expected more warmth, flavour, and hospitality. I look forward to come back to Florence but never returning to Zeb. I don't think its worth ruining your day/night in the hope of trying some good food (which wasn't even the case for us). The atmosphere and terrible experience with the chef left us all feeling uneasy, unhappy and dissapointed.

13/05/2025: Grumpy staff, coffee is not only terrible but also expensive and really small in quantity. A cappuccino is practically a macchiato. I don't recommend it!!!

02/08/2025: Nelli is much more than just a tobacconist: it's a go-to place, especially for those looking for a reliable, welcoming place that's always open when everything else is closed. I've been there several times, but the experience that deserves a special mention is the late-night breakfast, a real treat for those who experience the city outside of normal hours.

30/07/2025: A popular meeting place for many Lucca residents before heading out of town or for breakfast on their way home. The staff are friendly and the place is clean, with a lovely veranda inside. It's also a great place for a quiet drink, as the noise level is low.

23/06/2025: Service charge 2€. You only find out about it on the receipt. It's probably everywhere where the word "Restaurant" is written.

21/06/2025: Unfortunately, this was the worst restaurant choice during our stay. There were three of us, including our toddler daughter. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to get a small plate of pasta (the daily menu included spaghetti, so that would have been perfectly doable). There's exactly one children's dish - a "baby plate" with a carelessly cut sausage and a sliced ​​boiled potato for €8. Pizzas are apparently also available in a "small" size. The USP of the place is probably the thousands of, sometimes strange, pizzas. My husband had a standard pizza; we searched in vain for fresh ingredients (in this case, it would have been mushrooms). Nothing special in terms of taste. I had a relatively bland lasagna. Coperto 3 x €3 - toddler = full price. For fans of the large pizza menu, it might be worth a visit, but unfortunately, it wasn't for us.

06/08/2025: A quiet place for a family dinner. The pizza is good and generously topped (in a good way, obviously). The crust doesn't retain its flavor for very long, but it's easy to digest.

06/08/2025: I'm only judging the appetizer I ordered: crostini with typical sauces. I was disappointed because they were overpriced at €10 for what was served. They consist of toasted bread with sauces served in four small bowls. The sauces aren't typical (mostly mayonnaise). I question the price for what I ate. I've had crostini with sauces at other places in Maremma for €10, but they were really well made. I recommend removing them from the menu if they're served like this.

14/07/2025: Bad. The restaurant was empty, but we had to sit outside in the rain if we wanted to eat. We finally ordered, and the burgers were inedible; the pizza dough was very floury.

13/07/2025: The burger is delicious, but I recommend adding pre-ordered fries to go with the burger. And since there are two choices of meat, you should let the customer know that if you choose less meat, the burger will be smaller.

05/08/2025: À éviter ! Lors de la commande d’un apéritif on vous apporte à table ( comme dans chaque bar italien ) chips, olive et 2 préparations type bruschetta , sans rien avoir demandé . Lors de l’addition , quelle surprise de les voir facturée sur la note .. la réaction du patron du bar était complément déplacée en nous informant que c’était à nous à lui indiquer que nous ne le souhaitions pas .. ( le monde a l’envers ). Les enfants commande 2 jus à la pêche … déposé à table avec des pailles … et la même surprise .. même les pailles sont facturées sur l’addition 😂.. un scandale ! Du vol pure et simple. A fuir .

03/06/2025: It's not the first time I stop to eat here..I think the schiacciata with cecina is really good! Freshly prepared, hot and well filled. The one with aubergines is also excellent!! Wide choice of fillings. Small place, but it has some tables outside and you can eat there comfortably. The owner is kind and available to satisfy our requests. I highly recommend it not only for the quality of the products, but also for the price!!

31/07/2025: I recommend this place. I was looking for coffee under 3 euros, and that's what it cost around here. I ended up here for 2 americano coffees and a latte + 2 tasty sandwiches and I paid 9.50 euros. In the one 100 meters away for 2 coffees I paid 8 euros, so I will definitely go back there.

08/04/2025: A large and beautiful bar, excellent service, very rich display case, it only has one flaw in my opinion! The puff pastry based pastries are too greasy and too rich in margarine that half is enough! I really try and try to take them again but they always taste greasy, heavy, margarine. The day I find a bar that makes flaky pieces leavened with butter it will be a miracle, because that margarine you use is full of hydrogenated fats, do you know where you should put it?......and don't tell me stories that the stuff comes out better etc, because I do this too!
