17/03/2026: The prices are somewhat okay but the place felt like tourist trap. The pastries were already non fresh at 10am… the creams were so liquid, not even tasty… worst pistacchio cream ever.

05/03/2026: This is our last day in Lucca. In the afternoon, we stopped for two coffees and two desserts. We found the atmosphere and outdoor seating area to be lovely, and the staff was quick and efficient.

21/12/2025: I had the bad idea of ​​going into this bar for a coffee. After having my coffee (which wasn't very good, to put it mildly), I asked if there was a bathroom. They told me there wasn't one (and that's fine), but they treated me like I'd asked for something out of this world, treating me like a homeless person, and telling me I could use the bathrooms at the Christmas markets. I left, thanking them profusely. A few hundred meters later, I found another bar, had another coffee (which was certainly much better), and when I asked for a bathroom, they were very kind and (naturally!) let me go. I can't understand how these places manage to get customers. Probably tourists, I don't know!

15/11/2025: We had a cappuccino and a croissant. Everything was very good and the service was excellent.

14/09/2025: The staff is super friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The cleanliness is top-notch. It's a 3-star hotel, a bit dated...but the cleanliness of the bathroom, the breakfast (rich: homemade sweets and savory, fresh fruit), and the location are the strong points of this hotel. Thank you.

17/08/2025: "This owner-managed hotel leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel and its grounds are in excellent condition, the rooms are well-equipped, and are kept very clean daily. The owners and staff are always approachable and helpful and friendly. We didn't notice any negative things."

04/12/2025: We ate there twice during our short break. The service was excellent, and the owners were always very friendly and accommodating. Communication in English was also fluent. The menu is extensive, and everything we tried (bread, antipasti, cheese, pastries) was delicious. Many thanks, Mille Grazie, for your hospitality! P.S.: The restroom was also very clean. :)

04/12/2025: Last weekend me and my familly stopped here for dinner, usually i really enjoy a good quatro formaggi pizza. The presentation of the pizza was not bad at al, it looked like your usual pizza, but right of the bat i smelled something. At first i though someone at my table farted. But as i cut a piece and brought it closer to my face i realised this funky smell was the pizza. I took a bite and felt the gag reflection of my throat upon tasting this pizza. I could not fysically bring myself to eat this if i didnt want to puke. It was a MAGIC pizza (after 1 bite my apitite was supressed). If i where to describe the falvor id say smoked spoiled milk. I gave it to my mother who usually loves quatro formaggi and even she could not finish the pizza. On the otherhand the quatro stagioni was edible. I DIDNT SAY IT WAS GOOD. but if you are really hungry its definitly not the worst thing.

18/10/2025: A small restaurant with a large veranda where you can eat in the summer. The interior is nice and clean. I went on a Friday and it wasn't very crowded. Service was a bit slow due to the many takeaways. The pizza dough is good, light and easy to digest. The pizza is thin and has standard toppings, but no gourmet pizzas. Below-average prices and good value. Definitely worth trying again.

07/01/2026: Updated January 2026. I absolutely don't want to take anything away from other lovely pastry shops in the city, but in my opinion, Caffè Valiani is a cut above the rest, especially for the atmosphere in this magnificent location. I've had breakfast at this beautiful and historic Pistoia café several times. The cream-filled croissant is very good, and the prices are average—in fact, slightly lower than some of the more well-known cafés in my city. The rice pudding is fantastic.

03/02/2026: My partner and I booked a table here for one evening during our stay on Elba Island in June 2023. I should start by saying we don't know what the restaurant is like inside, as we dined on the covered veranda overlooking the sea, which was very pretty. The staff was friendly, but not at all professional or knowledgeable. The service was clumsy and bordering on ridiculous. We ordered two plates of seafood linguine; the pasta was overcooked, and the fish was visibly frozen (which I couldn't understand, given that Rio Marina is located by the sea and Elba offers a wide variety of fresh seafood everywhere). Everything was way too salty, wallowing in the watery sauce. The bottle of wine we ordered wasn't available, so we relied on the waitress. The wine was good. The fried fish was extremely salty and overcooked; we had to leave it because it was inedible. We finished with two terrible coffees, but they didn't ruin the dinner we'd just finished. The bill arrived, if possible, more expensive than the dishes listed above. A real disaster. I never write negative reviews, but that dinner ruined the rest of the evening, and we were annoyed that, even though we hadn't eaten anything, no one bothered to ask what the problem was. I don't recommend it.

07/12/2025: This time it went badly. It's a shame, because we were at the same place in September 2024 and were shocked that in a place that looked very "tourist-friendly," we'd actually eaten well. Today, it was very different. We ordered two appetizers: crostini, three tagliata (sliced ​​steaks), and a pappardelle with wild boar. The crostini were cold slices of bread topped with a questionable pâté, passable tomatoes, and an inedible agliata. The pappardelle were cold, as was the tagliata, served on a salad taken from the bag with oversized tomato slices. Everything was presented without the slightest care; it felt like it was hastily prepared, put on paper plates and brought to the table. It's a shame, because for this price, you'd expect much more.

20/10/2025: We stopped, drawn by the colorful tables and chairs. Then we entered the pastry shop and were greeted with that typical Sicilian welcome. The ricotta reminded us of the one from Palazzolo, but less sweet, just the way we like it. When we return, it'll be a regular stop! Thanks from the Romans!

10/09/2025: Beautiful hotel with quiet, spacious rooms. A venerable, well-renovated, well-maintained, and harmoniously furnished hotel. A beautiful garden with a terrace on the city walls offers views all the way to Lake Trasimeno. Good breakfast buffet. Mr. Seku took excellent care of everything.

22/06/2025: Per mangiare e bere bene nel centro storico a San Quirico è il posto giusto. Locale molto curato, ben arredato, ideale per una cena intima così come per un pranzo fra amici. Il personale è preparato e gentile, attento ma non invadente. Ottima la qualità delle materie prime e piatti tipici, dagli antipasti crostoni (favolosi), salumi e formaggi, primi piatti (pici in primis) e carni di qualità. Carta dei vini variegata e attenzione ai vini del territorio, anche con etichette non così facili da trovare. Rapporto qualità-prezzo nella media, ma per qualità e servizio ne vale la pena. Locale consigliatissimo.

21/06/2025: We fancied a simple lunch on a quick visit to the town. This restaurant is managed by three generations of women. I had Nonna’s lasagna and my wife had cannelloni. It did the trick and was a nice break in the day.

03/08/2025: Tuve un especial - salchicha y pocini tagliatelle - delicioso, las comidas de otros estaban bien. Lo más destacado fue el tiramisú - increíble. Personal agradable y vistas preciosas.

12/01/2026: The dishes didn't live up to the very beautiful location. The spiciness was too much, covering the flavor of the fish and the dish. In fact, to be honest, the flavor of the fish was very, very mild. The staff was very friendly and the prices were fair.

08/01/2026: I had been to this restaurant years ago and returned to see if it was still like this. Everything was really good, excellent food, professional and very knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere was beautiful. I will be back.

29/10/2025: The campsite is okay. The sanitary facilities are a bit dated. Nice large pool. The music from the bar is a little loud. The clay pigeon shooting next door can be annoying.
