Avoid the spaghetti with sea urchins, because the dish is tasteless and the sea urchins are practically absent... And the seafood salad is a disappointment. The extremely rude owner, the young waiter made up for it with helpfulness and courtesy.

12/08/2024: The marinated fish appetizer of the day left something to be desired due to the scarcity of raw materials and their quality, despite the price being quite high. Excellent first and second courses, they really deserved it. The service should be faster and more present. Prices too high in relation to the quality of the gastronomic experience.

04/08/2024: Granita superlativa, non ho assaggiato la panna, personale sorridente e molto educato nonostante il pienone. Prezzi buoni, la meta' di quello che paghi a Taormina per porzioni microscopiche servite in modo sgarbato! Quando posso ci vengo volentieri. Comodo anche per il parcheggio. Ne vale proprio la pena e poi e' a due passi dal mare.

02/09/2024: Very nice location on the main square of Nicolosi. Friendly and welcoming staff. The guy was good at recommending drinks, especially a really good gin they produced.

03/08/2024: Poor service, there were 4 of us, we were placed at a table for 2, among other things inside the restaurant, initially with the air conditioning turned off. We requested the latter to be turned on and after only 10 minutes, due to a single complaint inside the room, the air conditioner was stopped in a fixed position and significantly weakened (while previously the fins were rotating and guaranteeing that minimum comfort). . Furthermore the quality of the bread was very poor (it seemed defrosted). Especially the fake food photos on their Instagram profile, which make the food look much bigger and tastier! Not to mention the bill, which was very salty for what we had ordered. I do not recommend!!

20/06/2024: The Il Gabbiano restaurant in Catania is a true jewel for fish lovers. I had the pleasure of tasting the spaghetti with squid ink and the paccheri with fresh prawns and I must say that they were among the best fish dishes I have ever tasted. The fish was very fresh and perfectly cooked, with a delicate taste and rich in flavours. The restaurant staff was extremely attentive and courteous, always ready to satisfy our every request and recommend the best dishes to try. The location is enchanting, in Piazza Verga which makes the dining experience even more pleasant. I highly recommend the Il Gabbiano restaurant to all those who love fish and quality cuisine. I can't wait to go back to try other delicacies on the menu!

01/08/2024: Overall this restaurant is a hidden gem. The food creations (except for the cunzatizzi which I personally did not enjoy so much) are very creative and super tasty. Unfortunately our entré had been forgotten and we had to remind them when the food came. The waitress was very sorry and wanted to bring some bread as consolation which also didn't arrive :( The ambience and the design were beautiful.

31/07/2024: Wonderful service, but the pizza is very small, thick and tasteless. The spaghetti with vongole cooler was served cold, it was not even warmed up on request 🫠 we will definitely not be coming back to eat it...not even to drink because of the 7 euro 4 deciliter warm beer...minus 5 stars

25/08/2024: Really excellent food and very generous portions, really honest prices. Friendly and helpful staff! The house wine won us over, delicious 😉 I recommend giving it a try.

11/07/2024: A top waiter who knows how to be a bartender, waiter, DJ, guitarist and singer. The alcohol is good and so are the petits fours (petit four given free by the waiter!). I highly recommend.
