03/12/2023: Really cool deli just outside of old town, by Porta San Biagio. They do some hot dishes, and of course bulk meat and cheese. You can get a salume & cheese plate as well. Wine & beer too. But the sandwhiches are where they shine. They do a large number of variations, each one named and described on a standard piece of paper, all hung up around the shop in various places. It’s fun just looking around finding new signs, wondering what you missed so far. There are an assortment of meats and cheeses, different veggies and even fruit that go into them. I had a Bavit which had ham, Porchetta ( a cooked pork), veggies and thinly sliced orange. The flavor combo was wonderful. As my wife said, having the fruit there brightened it up. I wish we had time to go back there and try some more. Not as much meat on them as a typical American sandwich might have (which is standard in Europe, in my experience). Also, the signs are all in Italian, but Google translate helps there. It’s a husband and wife shop, and they don’t speak English. They do have 5 or so tables, and do a brisk take out business.

28/10/2023: Panini superlativi, qualità ottima degli ingredienti, imbarazzo della scelta, la prossima volte proveremo senz’altro un tagliere misto, servizio ottimo, prezzi in linea con il prodotto offerto. Che dire, Bravissimi.

16/03/2024: Abbiamo conosciuto questo ristorante consigliato da persone locali e da quel momento resta la nostra tappa fissa. Pesce sempre fresco, cucinato in maniera semplice tanto da gustare il gusto autentico. I crudi sono la loro specialità: carpacci di tonno, scorfano, palamita, scampi, gamberi, seppie e frutti di mare. Consiglio primi o secondi con il pesce di giornata sebbene le portate del menù non siano da meno. Forse non ci sarà la vista mare ma Antonello da buon padrone di casa colmerà tale mancanza soprattutto al momento del conto in cui vi tratterà come mai nessun ristoratore abbia mai fatto.

10/03/2024: Ristorante di pesce spettacolare. Delicato e sublime antipasto di crudo, tartare di ricciola, carpacci di triglia e scorfano. Spettacolare la frittura di totanetti, gamberi e merluzzetti, dorata ed asciutta. Una prelibatezza. Proprietario e staff molto gentili. Ne vale davvero la pena. Complimenti

22/12/2023: Ambiente originale, tranqillo e rilassante e caloroso, ideale per trascorrere una serata piacevole tra amici o per una cenetta en tête. Ottima birra alla spina e varie bevande. Panini e spuntini con taglieri di gustosissimi salumi e formaggi serviti al tavolo anche sul terrazzino. Proprietario premuroso e molto simpatico che fa di tutto per accontentare suoi clienti. Buona musica di fondo e buon rapporto qualità/ prezzo. Da conoscere assolutamente.

10/03/2024: It's the first time we've been to this place... and thank goodness! The guy who was at the ice cream counter as well as at the cash register served us two ice cream cones which to say they tasted like nothing... it's like paying him a compliment!!! The flavors I chose were pure pistachio and kiss......I expected, at least from pistachio, a strong and decisive taste!!! And instead both were tasteless, as if I were eating colored ice!!! We could have avoided purchasing them only if we had given more weight..... to the "respect" of the guy who served us... Who, needless to say, "forgot" to type the receipt (he didn't forget to take the money, obviously). There is much better!

27/02/2024: Poor quality pastries and professionally untrained staff.. I had already had a bad experience last summer when I went one morning with the intention of having breakfast with ice cream, on that occasion I was sent away by the owner who did not want to serve me ice cream because in her opinion it was too "hard" to take with the tray. Last Saturday I received as a "gift" from a relative of mine a pack of desserts served hot topped with poor quality and spoiled cream... for me the NAS should do an inspection and close the business!!

27/02/2024: Pasticceria di scarsa qualità e personale professionalmente impreparato e maleducato..avevo già avuto una pessima esperienza l'estate scorsa quando andai una mattina con l'intenzione di fare colazione con il gelato, in quell'occasione fui mandato via dalla titolare che non volle servirmi il gelato perché a suo avviso troppo "duro" da prelevare con la vaschetta. Sabato scorso ho ricevuto in "regalo" da un mio parente una confezione di dolci serviti caldi conditi con crema di scarsa qualità ed avariata..per me dovrebbero fare un sopralluogo i NAS e chiudere l'attività commerciale!!

21/03/2024: Walking through the center of Lecce you can't help but stop for lunch/dinner at Messapia. Exquisite, typical and traditional dishes. Informal place and possibility of staying inside or, if it's a nice day, outside admiring the beautiful Castromediano square. Vito, the waiter, is disarmingly kind and friendly and welcomes you with a disarming smile and professionalism. Very kind and friendly owners. Highly recommended.

31/03/2024: I had lunch with my family today on Easter day at this farmhouse. We felt at home, thanks to the hospitality of the owners, who made sure, during lunch, that everything went well. All kind and helpful waiters, ready to quickly accommodate every request, and excellent traditional dishes!
