19/08/2024: Agriturismo Santa Chiara: A Slice of Paradise in Puglia Agriturismo Santa Chiara is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the property's enchanting beauty. Nestled amidst lush olive groves and vineyards, it's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Our room was impeccably clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we slept soundly every night. We loved waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying our morning coffee on the private patio. The pool area was an oasis of tranquility. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The food was simply divine, showcasing the best of Puglia's culinary traditions. We especially enjoyed the fresh, locally sourced ingredients and homemade pasta. The staff and location was incredibly kid friendly. Our three year old daughter loved the pool, shopping in Gallipoli and exploring the local beaches. We can't wait to return to Agriturismo Santa Chiara and experience this magical place again. Highly recommended!

08/08/2024: If the pleasant company is synergistically combined with the goodness of the gourmet proposal, the evening is saved since one, lacking, could be to the detriment of the other. Having said the obvious, let's move on to the description of the main reason why one goes to a restaurant of this kind: after a bonsai entrée (raw anchovy rolled up and seasoned), a gift from the house designed to whet dormant appetites, a tartare with grated truffle ad libitum to be expert gloved hands was the apotheosis of taste. Followed, in the same way, by an abundant truffle risotto. To finish, small artisanal pastries. No wine this time, you will have to drive. The air conditioning is pleasant in a relaxing environment with attentive and present but not pervasive staff.

04/08/2024: Perfect welcome, service and cuisine. Extra fresh products, perfect preparations / seasonings / cooking. Restaurant discovered one lunchtime during a walk in Lecce, such a good surprise that we reserved for the next evening to taste other dishes from chef Alessandra Cevila. Special mention to Daniele who provided perfect service and who twice provided very good advice on the choice of dishes and drinks to help us discover the Puglia region. Thank you to the whole team for this wonderful trip. See you soon

22/08/2024: We had dinner in this restaurant overlooking the sea, an environment with very high potential, but unfortunately the food and table service were not up to the usual level of the location, the mixed fried food was too much but too greasy, the first courses were very salty and taken away with poor preparation, and finally porcelain coffee cup but spoon with wooden stick

01/08/2024: Ci siamo fermati a cena in questo locale molto colorato al centro di Lecce. Consigliato il menù Salento che per soli 22 euro ti offre la scelta tra un primo e un secondo della cucina tipica salentina, insalata, 1/4 di vino e acqua. Sotto consiglio del cameriere per i bambini abbiamo preso una fettina di capocollo arrosto, ottima scelta in quanto la carne era buonissima e tenerissima. Cibo buono e porzioni abbondanti. Personale disponibile e gentile. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.

19/08/2024: Helpful and kind but disorganized staff: they asked us whether the second one had arrived or not. Let's move on to the food: we ordered three complete menus for 14 euros, instead of water I asked for a house wine, a primitivo. Definitely table wine is fine, good. The first Lecce macaroni I would say was decent... the bread brought was reheated puccia while the second sausages were very good. For a good value lunch worth a try

07/07/2024: Bar pasticceria con personale simpatico, buone le paste di produzione propria. Per il gelato dipende dai gusti, ottimi quelli realizzati con prodotti locali, meno altri guasti.

29/08/2024: We had dinner last night. Local "sea view" (after parking and road) and not "over" the sea. Not bad, just for precision. The terrace is however airy and pleasant. Kind and attentive staff. Very nice and affable manager. Regarding food: stratospheric highs and “clumsy” lows. Fresh and very good tuna, both the tartare and the seared one, the lobster tagliolini worthy of an Oscar, while the fried squid without praise or infamy. It's a shame that the sautéed mussels and clams had an unconvincing flavor, even though they were "fresh". Upon our observation, we were told that given the season, an "alternative dish" would have been better... we wondered why he didn't suggest it to us and why he didn't remove mussels from the menu. Full-bodied rosé wine, pleasant on the palate. Fresh and tasty dessert and fruit. €320 is enough for 4, given the lobster and the wine, even if not everyone ate everything. Too bad the mussels

18/07/2024: Very nice establishment with a magnificent view of Tricase Porto. However the food was very average A mixed fry with very rubbery squid, a tuna tataki whose consistency and texture are questionable (frozen??) The monkfish boconcini were overcooked... It is true that the restaurant had some power cuts that day, did this impact the meal? Anyway, I was disappointed with this restaurant. Very poor quality/price.55€/pers I hope it was just the wrong night.

12/07/2024: Very nice agriturismo. Great atmosphere and service. Very clean are nice pool. Optional to buy breakfast by the pool bar. Only ~6 minutes drive from the Otranto city parking. Could benefit from a small playground for kids.

26/07/2024: I would say I would not go again even if i am paid. I did not like the service whatsoever it was very poor, the price for value would for sure be 1/10. The waiter was very disappointed with whatever I would not order (i know my own portions and i am not exactly a tourist after 3 years), as if they wanted to just keep empty selling to me. Its a tourism trap imposed as a genuine place. The place was closing at 11:30 and they kept rushing indirectly from around 10:45 that we thought they were actually closing at 11. Maybe they were just having a bad day and i might be wrong, but this was my experience.

17/08/2024: Partiamo dalle cose positive: - estrema attenzione al senza glutine, la mia compagna celiaca ha mangiato senza problemi con un’ampia scelta di piatti (quasi tutto il menù si poteva avere senza glutine) - locale grazioso e personale gentile - piatti della vera tradizione salentina eseguiti in maniera discreta - personale gentile - prezzi nella norma Meno bene: - Il locale ha un piccolo spazio aperto all’ingresso, la sala centrale e un terrazzo esterno. Nella sala centrale fa un caldo terrificante, ad agosto non è fattibile sostenere una cena. In questa sala ci sarebbe un condizionatore, ma è rimasto spento tutta la sera. Se i gestori decidono per motivi loro di tenerlo spento, dovrebbero dichiarare la sala inagibile o al limite avvisare gli avventori. Noi avevamo prenotato a metà luglio per una cena da tenersi il 17 agosto e nonostante un mese di anticipo non siamo riusciti ad avere un tavolo all’esterno. Possibile? - il menù in dialetto salentino è sicuramente carino, ma può mettere in difficoltà un turista - avendo un tavolo di fronte alla cucina potevamo sentire le reprimende della cuoca verso i collaboratori, situazione che ha trasmesso un po’ di disagio - vino un po’ troppo caldo
