01/05/2025: I met them in 2004, the year I went to Salento for the first time. The cellar had just been renovated, the rooms were spectacular, the Lecce stone with its colors created a magical atmosphere, the owner was very kind and conveyed all his enthusiasm to me by showing me the work that had just been completed and telling me its story. Since then several decades have passed, I have continued to frequent this splendid land and have made it a safe haven throughout the year (and not just in the summer as unfortunately often happens for hasty tourists). I have had the opportunity to see both Schola Sarmenti and the city that hosts it grow and improve and I have always treated myself, over time, to a good bottle from this cellar. I returned for the Corimei Primitivo Passito (excellent!) and sat in the Wine Bar where Schola Sarmenti allows you to enjoy guided tastings of its many labels. Very particular environment, reserved and cared for, owners and staff always smiling and available. The growth and professionalism with which they made Schola Sarmenti grow and become known and the attention and style they gave to their work are to be appreciated and praised. Well done!

25/05/2025: You are proof of God's existence! Thank you for existing! I accidentally tried your ice cream bought at Conad in Presicce. Since then the tubs of ice cream have been disappearing. Every year I can't wait to come to Salento to taste your ice cream. I plan to come and visit you in the pastry shop too. It's a shame that in the Foggia and Bari areas you can't find your ice cream. Sooner or later it will happen! 🙂

19/11/2024: Closed permanently, at least as far as the current management is concerned. Avio Bar will reopen with a new look and new management. As for Mr. Luigi and his wife... Stay tuned.

12/11/2024: One star because it is not possible that the only historic bar in Lecce remaining in the historic center will be closed to be renovated and changed. In the rest of Italy, places like this, with their retro charm and authenticity, are increasingly valued and sought after and instead in Lecce it is a succession of "new" places renovated without a soul and without history. It's truly a shame that this city doesn't know how to valorise its historical activities... culture is really missing.

04/05/2025: We had lunch at this place which offers typical Lecce cuisine. We started lunch by taking gluten-free fried foods and mixed vegetables as appetizers, needless to say they were delicious. Furthermore, we also decided to have the gluten-free fried courgette flowers and we understood why the place is named after this dish, they were spectacular. Continuing we took two first courses, also of excellent quality. The service was super, a lot of attention to the customer especially regarding allergies. Super recommended, especially for celiac people. Compliments.

25/05/2025: The place is nice, the food is quite good and the service is fast. But when you are not ready / prepared to welcome a certain number of people, during a live show (metallic cover), you should avoid doing it. The reasons? There are several: 1. Terrible audio 2. Anxious waitress who did not know what to do but curse in the middle of the room by continually opening the door with the justification: "It's too noisy" - Why? I wonder why? If you open the door, there is less? ... Just to understand ... 3. The barman did not have the slightest, pale, remote idea of ​​what was happening around him 4. The continuous and persistent prohibitions of not being able to stop anywhere - no at the bar, no near the (open) door, not here, not there and not even anywhere else (ok I'm leaving, and so it was). They work well, but the live show is not their thing.

28/05/2025: Very refined atmosphere and excellent service. The fish is fresh and the staff is always ready to give you advice. Maybe a little too expensive.

16/05/2025: Hotel recommended guests some of the restaurants and this is one of them. During the raining Thursday, not much guests here. I ordered the salad and raw seafood. Seafood are fresh and as well as the salad. Service is also good and friendly:)

20/01/2025: Very nice and quiet pub, where you can drink good beer both on tap and in bottles but also good wines. The food menu was excellent and inviting but I only stopped to drink. Recommended to everyone.
