09/03/2026: I went to this place on a Friday night with my friends, and it was a rather unpleasant experience for everyone. When we ordered, we were met by an inexperienced waiter who had to go back to the kitchen for every question. It was only 9:00 PM, and she informed us that some of the beers we'd ordered, as well as all the sandwiches and vegetables, were sold out. Unfortunately, I'm celiac and could only have the plated meat and vegetables (except for the potatoes, since they decide to gratinate them, making them inedible for us celiacs), and a friend of mine doesn't eat meat, so instead of the salmon sandwich and vegetables, they offered Asiago with scallops, which I won't even comment on here. The accompanying bread that my friends requested and didn't spontaneously bring was clearly defrosted (warm on the outside and cold on the inside). It's certainly not a good image to be without essential ingredients on a Friday night and at a common dinner time. I do not recommend the place, especially to those with dietary restrictions who have to rule out half the menu right away.

28/05/2026: A quaint Scottish-themed pub in the center of Varese. Clean atmosphere but often very crowded, making it sometimes difficult to find a table. A variety of good-quality beers are available, and the selection changes frequently, so you can always try something new. They also have cider on tap, which is not easy to find here in Italy. The dishes are typically Scottish-inspired, though some of the quality isn't top-notch (in my opinion). It's a shame the prices are really high compared to other pubs I frequent, both for drinks and food. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and service is quick, except at peak times, when there can sometimes be a long wait.

10/05/2026: Great café! A fantastic selection and a very cozy atmosphere. We sat upstairs where the heating was almost too warm. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The only downside was that a cappuccino arrived instead of a chai latte.

07/05/2026: A very pleasant cafe with friendly service. A large selection of sandwiches and breakfast snacks, prepared fresh. The sandwiches and wraps are very large, with plenty of filling.

21/04/2026: An excellent venue with a pleasant atmosphere, featuring indoor, outdoor, and veranda spaces suitable for all ages. Friendly and welcoming staff. A selection of quality drinks and aperitifs... a place you'll want to return to.

15/04/2026: The restaurant is always busy every day of the week. Top marks in every aspect, excellent yet simple cuisine. The ingredients are of the highest quality. If I could recommend the shrimp tartare, I would wholeheartedly do so. The atmosphere is elegant but not pretentious. Impeccable service, and the kindness and friendliness of the staff are absolutely commendable. The price is more than fair.

08/05/2026: Delicious seafood Lasagne, the flavour was amazing and I couldn’t help but feel pleasantly surprised with each mouthful. So glad I went along with the recommendation! I also enjoyed the berry panna cotta, milky and silky texture with fresh berries <3

06/05/2026: I frequent Noblesse Oblige with colleagues because of its proximity to our offices, and I've always appreciated the atmosphere and the kindness of the staff. Unfortunately, during my last visit, the experience was ruined by a decidedly overcooked pasta dish served as part of the business menu. ​The most disappointing aspect, however, wasn't the kitchen error—which can happen—but the management's response when the dish was returned. I was informed that to have cooked pasta, you have to order from the à la carte menu, as the business menu doesn't offer the same level of service. ​Especially in a restaurant whose name evokes the concept of 'Noblesse Oblige,' one would expect respect for the raw materials to be a moral obligation to every customer, regardless of the price paid. I firmly believe that proper execution of a dish should always be guaranteed, especially if the goal is to retain regular business customers...or perhaps it isn't. A real shame: the form is excellent, but there's still work to be done on the coherence between philosophy and hospitality.

15/05/2026: We stopped by by chance. When we rang the doorbell, a staff member with a military demeanor opened the cafe door and told us to leave our umbrellas in the hallway and offered us hand sanitizer. When we said we didn't want it, he told us to go inside and wash our hands, adding that there's a 5 euro spending limit per person inside and we can't stay longer than 45 minutes. I've been coming to Italy for 15 years and have never seen such behavior anywhere. No one has explained to these people that this isn't how you serve customers in cafes. When we said we wouldn't stay, he said it to our faces. It was a terrible and impolite attitude.

18/05/2026: Wonderful place surrounded by the splendid hills of Oltrepo'

11/05/2026: We stumbled upon it by chance, after lunch at a farmhouse in the Oltrepo Pavese area. A pleasant discovery, with a wide selection of local food and wine, and an excellent location for aperitifs, brunches, and parties. The internal courtyard and porticoes are well-equipped to accommodate several people, in addition to the large outdoor/exhibition area, with several tables available. Excellent impression!!

02/06/2026: I went for the end-of-May celebration. The only easy option on the menu for non-meat eaters was the vegetarian sandwich. So I had to choose that, otherwise I wouldn't have dined. I don't think I've ever eaten such an embarrassing sandwich. Stale bread, minimal filling, and low-quality ingredients. Wanting to be inclusive with "dishes" like this is a no-brainer. It's a shame, because the beer is good.

02/06/2026: A very unique venue with beautiful wood finishes and unique, thoughtful, and tasteful decor. Good beers, including some craft beers. Prices perfectly in line with the quality of the drinks offered. Well done.

14/04/2026: All the dishes we tried were delicious! The restaurant also offers a great added bonus for celiacs: they have gluten-free sciatt and pizzoccheri, both delicious, with no apparent difference in taste from the gluten-free ones! Well done!
