25/08/2024: We went to the restaurant last night. They were very quick with their service and the staff was very helpful and courteous. The dishes are simple and of good quality with adequate prices (cheap compared to current average prices). We will definitely return here for dinner on our next stay in Ventimiglia.

Professional and kind service, a note of merit to the sommelier who recommended an excellent wine in magnum format
The appetizer tasting is absolutely recommended, for two people, with which it is possible to taste each of the delicious appetizers in not even small portions.
Possibility of vegetarian options, which we discovered, despite ourselves, to be a rarity in the Cinque Terre area (our vegetarian friend ate trofie with pesto for 4 days) while at the ancient trattoria she was able to eat a plate of delicious pansoti.
The sesame crusted prawns are also very good.
Overall a pleasant evening
The only flaw for which I give 4 stars is the environment, the extreme heat. We ate while fanning ourselves with napkins, and for a restaurant of this caliber I think it is a mistake that can easily be resolved by slightly lowering the air conditioning, which was set to 29 degrees all evening, but which absolutely failed to cool the room.
I would happily stay here again

31/07/2024: elegant place, very kind waiters, very honest prices (which I particularly appreciate), the only thing was the spaghetti with squid ink with cuttlefish and courgettes which were slightly salty but still delicious. we will return when we have the chance.

Place located in a very quiet area, with fantastic tables overlooking the sea/sunset.
On this occasion everything was very good, from the fried mix to the off-menu dessert recommended by the Sala Chief.

Each dish was carefully explained to us. Each course delicious. The portions were substantial, at the end of the experience we were full. Advise!

08/08/2024: To begin, I was absolutely bewildered at some of the negative and some outright ridiculous reviews (in my opinion) regarding this business, therefore as a level 8 contributor with over 13 million views to date as well as being a frequent traveller to Italy, Liguria in particular, I hope you will read this as being truly honest and genuine.
My wife and I had to stay overnight in Genova enroute back to the UK and as we were in the Brignole area around 7pm I took to Google to find a nice eatery rather than being somewhat restricted around the airport. Rustichello Restaurant looked ideal, only a few minutes walk from the train station, our kind of local cuisine and it opened for dinner at 7pm, perfect.
We arrived a couple of minutes before opening however the female staff member setting up the outside tables was extremely friendly and accommodating directing us (and our luggage) indoors and to a table and were we lucky as by 7.30/8.00pm they were full.
The staff were professional, courteous and friendly and although busy within a short period of time, were always attentive and quick.
Onto the food, well what can I say, other than outstanding. To begin you are given some lovely warm, fresh bread and focaccia which was regularly replenished. Our starters were their popular trofiette al pesto and a pasta with salted anchovies, butter and crushed walnuts. Both dishes were definitely fresh and homemade, perfectly cooked and very flavoursome. The pesto was thick and creamy accompanying the trofettie perfectly and definitely traditional. The anchovy and walnut pasta was also very good with good depth of flavours and topped with a small fried squid which was a nice touch. The dish was and only in my opinion slightly dry with maybe benefitting with more butter or some oil but overall full of flavour and perfectly cooked.
For our mains, we had beef tagliata and the crispy octopus. Again both dishes very tasty and full of flavour, the beef cooked perfectly accompanied by a few roasted potatoes and a rocket salad. The octopus was perfectly cooked then what seemed deep fried for a very short time in order to crisp the exterior, served on a bed of puréed, buttery potato and a lovely red onion and olive side.
For dessert we opted to share the homemade tirrimisu as we always do no matter where we go, probably just to compare regional recipes, not that we need a reason and their’s was not to disappoint. The highlight however was what we ended with. We shared a lemon sorbet with fresh basil and pink peppercorn. Wow, this was a palette cleanser on another level. The basil flavour was bold yet did not kill the lemon flavour just strange seeing a green lemon sorbet, it was a sure winner to finish off the meal, well apart from the obligatory limoncello that is, chilled and not cheap and syrupy like many.
We had 2 or 3 bottles of sparkling water and a bottle of Cinque Terre Ligurian white wine.
Overall we were just over €100 which for 3 courses of that calibre with wine, I feel was a great price and for that quality of food elsewhere down the coast i.e Santa Margherita Ligure, we would have been €150 or more.
Finally as we paid, the very friendly owner struck up a conversation about golf and whiskey with us being from Scotland even offering us a free dram from his collection.
Overall, the staff, service, food and price was very good and to then get the customer service we did at the end, money really can’t buy!
We will be sure to visit again the next time we are in Genova.

01/09/2024: Best ice cream in Genoa (or in the whole world). Very nicely located artisanal gelateria. Absolutely worth visiting. I highly recommend to try the Caramel Biscotti flavor and Cioccolato al latte. We liked it so much that we went there 3 times within 24 hours. Not to mention the very affordable prices (3,50€ for a large cup with 3 scoops).
We are sad that we could not taste all they have to offer but we will come back to try all of them for sure! 🤤

09/08/2024: Nineties place, good food but I wasn't able to eat anything, much less appreciate the food. I was assigned a seat inside the room... I had never felt such heat in a restaurant, zero air conditioning, even the waitress who served us was literally dripping with sweat..... in 2024 a minimum of an acceptable temperature should be guaranteed to customers, I'm sorry but we're not quite there. We ran away leaving half the dishes there
08/08/2024: Despite the opulence, he proved to be professionally unsuitable to maintain a simple reservation, Mr. Marco proved to be unreliable and irresponsible in keeping his word on the reservation, so much so that despite his understanding and waiting for over 30 minutes, after having seen other people being seated in our place, we decided to cancel the reservation and the wait went beyond 10pm to go and eat at another restaurant that was much more respectful and polite towards its guests. I advise you not to rely on Mr. Marco's word for your reservation but to receive a written confirmation via email. While I recommend a training course for reservations and their management to Mr. Marco, he will probably also be able to take advantage of free courses provided by the state or region but at least he will learn to manage the tables better without causing unnecessary damage and anger to people. Congratulations location 9 service 1 food bòooòoo it made me go sideways without having tasted it.P.S. ON YOUR RESPONSE WHICH DENOTES ALL YOUR HUMILITY AND HUMANITY, I ALSO HAVE BEEN IN THE CATERING BUSINESS FOR OVER 40 YEARS BUT I WOULD NEVER ALLOW MYSELF TO OVERRIDE A RESERVATION IN FAVOR OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER AS YOU HAVE DONE SEVERAL TIMES AND WITH MORE CUSTOMERS. THIS IT IS THE BASIC AND THEY TEACH IT IN HOTEL SCHOOLS. YOU HAVE PROBABLY NEVER ATTENDED THEM. SO INSTEAD OF DOING CATERING, MAKE PRIVATE CIRCLES BECAUSE YOU IMPLEMENT THIS SYSTEM AND WORK, NOT THE SIMPLE RULES OF CATERING THAT DERIVES FROM THE WORD RESTAURANT AND NOT FROM THAT OVERRIDE. BELIEVE ME YOU LACK BOTH PROFESSIONAL AND HUMAN BASICS. YOU CALL IT BYBLOS CLUB NOT A RESTAURANT BECAUSE I CAN'T GIVE YOU KIND GREETINGS PRESIDENT OF THE BYBLOS PRIVATE CLUB
