This morning, for two simple croissants and two cappuccinos, they asked us €8: a real steal! Never spent a similar amount, not even in the main square in Sorrento. I think they mistook me for a tourist, given my Genoese accent, and tried to "rip me off" but I've been coming regularly to Herculaneum for about ten years with my in-laws and I know the prices well... But this doesn't enhance tourism, on the contrary, it does a disservice to Herculaneum, which instead is a beautiful town with welcoming people and extraordinary archaeological excavations. Avoid this place: it is a terrible example for the city.
