30/03/2025: On a visit to Matera, it was recommended to us by our hotelier, praising the excellent quality, quantity and price ratio. He advised us to order the appetizers because it offered the opportunity to taste all the typical products and that given the abundance of the dish to wait to order the first courses. We did not find all this abundance, the cost is € 18 but what was served to us was of the highest quality.

15/03/2025: Great restaurant, we ate very well, typical local dishes. Perfect service, very kind staff and great welcome with warm bread and local extra virgin olive oil. Excellent value for money.
13/03/2025: We had dinner on Sunday 2 March in this restaurant, we were two couples, the food was nothing exceptional, the younger waiter was cute and smiling, the other waiter was very self-contained.
The thrust in the evening was the gentleman who made the cash for us...those who pay in cash get a discount, those who pay with a debit card have no discount!

25/03/2025: The beer actually was not good. I am from Germany and drank a lot of beers in my life. But the beer is average ok. Also it says it opens at 7pm but the waiter wanted us to wait 15 min more .. even though the waiter did nothing ..
We had good olives 🫒 and cracker to the beer.

19/02/2025: Cena da solo nel corso di un viaggio di lavoro (suggerito da hotel). Location straordinaria: ha una terrazza panoramica sui Sassi con tavoli idonei a una cena romantica. Ambiente confortevole, accoglienza cordiale, servizio celere e professionale. Piatti ineccepibili: tradizione e buona qualità delle materie prime di base e ottimo lavoro in cucina. Carta dei vini adeguata con in più un dignitosissimo Primitivo servito al calice o in brocchetta come vino della casa. Rapporto qualità prezzo corretto.

Cucina gustosa e tipica ma con anche qualche ricercatezza.

There are better bakeries around.
23/01/2025: I like the coffee, but the pistachio croissant was so weird, it doesn' t taste good or fresh. Also if you take away the coffee or the product the price are ok, but if you want to take the coffee inside you must to pay another price.

03/02/2025: We walked to the Outback Restaurant which was next to our hotel. We wanted you to sit for a bit and enjoy a glass of wine. The restaurant was not busy, but the bar seats only had two available seats across the bar from each other. There were four two person high top tables available. We asked if we could sit there and were told they were waiting listed with a 35 minute wait. There were no reservation signs on these tables. Two other couples were waiting to be seated in the dining room and they did not want the high top tables.
We questioned the seating hostess why we could not sit there. Her answer was we could stand at the bar or wait for 35 minutes for the high top tables.
It is worth mentioning that this Outback does not take reservations.
The seating hostess was very rude and made no effort to accommodate us in anyway. She did give us some good eye rolls though. Goodness sakes, all we wanted was to sit for an hour and have a couple glasses of wine.
30/11/2024: Siamo stati qui in 6. Terrazza bellissima con vista pazzesca. Staff gentilissimo, ci hanno dato anche delle coperte per il freddo e poi spostati vicino ai funghi riscaldanti. Io ho preso una cioccolata calda con dei biscottini buonissimi che ci hanno offerto, gli altri hanno preso del vino e aperitivo. Stranamente nonostante fosse il ponte dell 8 dicembre eravamo solo noi. Prezzi anche bassi per ciò che offre (es. cioccolata 5€). La consiglio assolutamente!

13/02/2025: Abbiamo mangiato una cheesecake deliziosa e due cocktail analcolici altrettanto buoni. Il personale è stato gentile e cordiale, creando un'atmosfera accogliente. La location è molto bella, ben curata e in tema con il contesto di Matera. L'unico neo è il prezzo, che mi è sembrato un po' elevato, giustificato forse dalla posizione centrale. Nel complesso, una buona esperienza!
09/02/2025: We had a delicious cheesecake and two equally good mocktails. The staff were polite and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The location is very beautiful, well looked after and in keeping with the context of Matera. The only flaw is the price, which seemed a little high to me, perhaps justified by the central location. Overall, a good experience!

09/01/2025: Encontramos este gran lugar por accidente! Es muy bonito, y la terraza tiene vistas al Saadi de Matera. Comimos maricón con bacala, puré favorito con gambas, orecchiette della nonna y cerdo con salsa de queso - combinaciones interesantes y todo delicioso. Un restaurante excelente, local; no demasiado turístico y no demasiado caro.
