I went there for lunch with my family and was able to try several dishes. The restaurant offers a variety of appetizers, first courses, and second courses, with a wide selection of desserts as well. We had gnocchi stuffed with pesto, yellow cherry tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella, a cutlet with Caesar dressing accompanied by a salad, and zuccotti with a creamy eggplant and apricot sauce. The dishes looked very good, and the taste confirmed their excellence. The cutlet, though simple, was cooked really well with a lovely crust. The gnocchi were my favorite dish because the contrast between the cold buffalo mozzarella and the warm gnocchi made everything delicious. I have no complaints about the service; it was exceptional. I might add that the dishes were clearly freshly made and not reheated. It's in a very strategic and beautiful location overlooking the lake.
As I said at the beginning, it was a very nice experience and I think I will go back.
19/06/2026: The restaurant is centrally located in the beautiful square, where you can enjoy al fresco lunch or dinner overlooking the island of San Giulio. This isn't our first time here, and we've always had a great experience. The menu varies seasonally and features an excellent wine list.

11/07/2026: A dinner with friends is always a pleasure. When it takes place at Taverna del Pittore in Arona, it transforms into a truly gastronomic experience.
The quality of the ingredients is evident from the first bite. The raw seafood is simply extraordinary: incredibly fresh, delicate, and capable of bringing out the full flavor of the sea. The linguine with lobster deserves a special mention: perfectly cooked pasta, generous and juicy lobster, and an intense, velvety, and perfectly balanced sauce, binding every bite together without ever overpowering the main ingredient. A truly elegant preparation.
The catch of the day with potatoes, confit cherry tomatoes, and olives is a perfect example of Mediterranean cuisine, simple yet rich in personality, while the scampi and shellfish confirm a truly rare level of quality.
The wine cellar is excellent, with a wide and refined selection of wines, ideal for accompanying every course.
The restaurant is refined, with attention to every detail, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
Special praise goes to Michele, the impeccable host: kind, knowledgeable, and always available to recommend wines and dishes with expertise, passion, and great discretion.
La Taverna del Pittore offers more than just dinner, but an experience of quality, freshness, hospitality, and a passion for cooking. A place that seafood lovers should know and one that is always a pleasure to return to. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

29/05/2026: Last night we had dinner at the Giardinetto restaurant in Pettenasco. It was offered by my dear nephews. The location was magnificent, the staff were very kind and knowledgeable. We chose the exceptional lake menu. It was a magnificent evening.

08/07/2026: The food was great. However, we were charged a €3 per person cover charge (coperto) without this being mentioned beforehand. You're given a tablet as a menu, and we didn't see this charge. The prices might seem reasonable at first, but only without these hidden costs.

A truly exceptional experience! The restaurant won me over in every way: the food was top-quality, the dishes were meticulously prepared, and the flavors were authentic. The staff was extremely kind, professional, and always available, making us feel welcomed from start to finish.
The atmosphere is elegant, clean, and pleasant, perfect for a romantic dinner or an evening with friends or family. The wait times were also more than satisfactory.
Regarding some of the negative reviews I've read, my experience was completely different. I personally didn't encounter any of the problems described, and I felt that many of the criticisms didn't reflect the service I received. I therefore recommend trying the restaurant and forming your own opinion, because it's truly worth it.

19/07/2026: A very charming location on the ground floor of a medieval building, overlooking the lake.
Welcome to the friendly owner, we immediately explained our cheese and garlic intolerances and ordered both seafood and freshwater fish dishes, both of which were very good. The service was very professional, attentive, and courteous.
The prices were moderately high, but adequate for the dishes, which were also well-executed.
18/07/2026: 🔴 Terrible experience: unacceptable rudeness and arrogance
Four of us went to this restaurant last night, and the experience was nothing short of shameful. From the very beginning, we were constantly pressured by the blonde woman taking our orders (I assume the owner or manager), who kept rushing us, insisting that the kitchen was about to close.
The menu offered limited choices and nothing that really appealed to us. Consequently, we decided to order drinks for both dishes and four. At that point, the woman exceeded all bounds of professionalism and politeness: with incredible arrogance, she began clearing the table before our eyes, telling us verbatim that since there were four of us, she wouldn't accept an order for only two dishes. In effect, she kicked us out of the restaurant.
Such behavior, besides being shortsighted in commercial terms, is completely disrespectful towards the customer. There are many ways to communicate, but the rudeness and incivility I've experienced here are inexcusable. If you don't want to be treated like dirt, stay away. Highly discouraged.

07/10/2025: The atmosphere was very noisy and not very clean, especially the restrooms.
The service was extremely slow, and sometimes, despite the slowness, they even got the order wrong.
My wife, my brother-in-law, my wife's sister, and I waited over an hour one Saturday night for two pizzas (not good) and two grilled meats (not good). The beer was awful, either bitter or overly flavored.
Never again!
Disgusting place!

12/08/2026: Without a doubt, one of the most pleasant places in town to spend a wonderful evening enjoying excellent cuisine.
It's a shame the experience was marred by the attitude of some of the staff. I've rarely encountered such an unwelcoming reception while traveling. Admittedly, it was peak tourist season and the restaurant was full, but that doesn't excuse the feeling of being treated more like a tourist looking to spend money than a customer simply wanting to enjoy a pleasant time with family.
My recommendation: go without hesitation for the quality of the setting and the food. However, if the restaurant is full, keep in mind that the quality of service may unfortunately suffer.

early afternoon. The seating area by the harbor is nice. Service and food were fine!

25/03/2026: We stayed two days in this wonderful location. What can I say? The staff was exquisite and the room was gorgeous.
We booked dinner at the inn's Michelin-starred restaurant and were blown away. The dishes were meticulously prepared and the flavors were truly unforgettable. A special thanks to the Chef and Sara, who pampered us throughout our stay.
