11/10/2025: Fantastic Stay at Grand Hotel Portovenere! 🌊 I've just had the most magical 3-night stay at the Grand Hotel Portovenere, and I'm already dreaming of going back! This place is an absolute gem, set in a beautifully restored 17th-century convent right on the water's edge. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their kindness and passion for the region truly made our trip special. The food was a highlight every single day. Dining at the Palmaria Restaurant with its stunning panoramic terrace views was an experience in itself. The cuisine was innovative, fresh, and absolutely delicious—a perfect taste of Liguria! Waking up to the view of the colorful harbor and Palmaria Island from our balcony was unforgettable. The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of charming Portovenere and with the ferry to the Cinque Terre literally at your doorstep. If you're looking for a luxurious, romantic, and utterly satisfying escape, look no further. I can't recommend this hotel enough!

14/08/2025: An amazing vacation; calling it a hotel is an understatement given the many activities available thanks to the concierge's invaluable advice. We tried the sunset boat excursion with aperitif and an exclusive boat tour of the Cinque Terre. Needless to say, the location is fantastic for visiting the center and the famous church of San Pietro. Close to excellent restaurants, including the Grand Hotel's own: the Palmaria restaurant. The friendly, helpful staff helped make those days and our stay at the Grand Hotel itself a special memory...thanks again!

07/02/2026: I would only recommend indulging in the desserts. The good food and wine also deserve more special desserts.

20/01/2026: The chef is one of the best in Savona! Friendly and polite waiters. Superb fish. The linguine with clams and bottarga is now my go-to dish!

17/01/2026: The restaurant boasts a truly beautiful view, which is undoubtedly its strong point. The staff was friendly and helpful during service. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a few important aspects: they served an expired Coke can, and the glass wasn't clean, something that should never happen in a place like this. The price is quite high, but it's still in line with the type of place and location. Overall, a place with great potential, which could offer a much better experience with greater attention to service quality and detail.

27/12/2025: Excellent dining experience. The servers were attentive and always smiling! The view must be magnificent at sunset or during the day, with the sea right in front of the bay windows.

16/09/2025: Amazing restaurant in a beautiful location, with super friendly staff and an innovative kitchen. The view is perfect which is why I don’t understand why it strictly (!) only opens at 19:30 — any decent entrepreneur would sell an aperitif from 6pm onwards on the beautiful balcony outside for people to enjoy the sunset (which otherwise will have happened already when you start your meal). There were tiny issues with the service (for instance they brought a beef butter to a completely vegetarian table, only to take it away and not replacing it with something vegetarian instead, and a couple next to us was waiting for having their wine with their food) but all in all the service was impeccable otherwise and I would have loved to give a tip unless these sneaky corporate people in the finance department wouldn’t have already built that tip into my bill, at which time and out of principle I crossed it out! I would have voluntarily given more than the „suggested tip“ if you hadn’t kinda forced my hands on it. I guess few people realize it so mathematically they end up with more, but not in style! Apropos style: the worst part of this restaurant is the music. The manager swore he couldn’t change the music or turn it down. Guys. We are in the 21st century. Forcing the same tasteless and unnecessary loud music on all people who have a very different and highly individualized dining experiences is just unprofessional and quite frankly costs you a star. If the CEO of the hotel can’t fix that, I‘m sorry for him (or her) as this is a matter of willingness only, everything else is an excuse.

04/01/2026: At 1:45 PM, we stopped for lunch. Given the time, they asked for a half-hour wait, but it turned out to be 40-45 minutes. The restaurant is of a good standard, with a window overlooking the sea offering a fantastic view. The food is excellent, expertly prepared with quality ingredients. I gave the service 3 stars not because of the kindness and professionalism of the staff, but because they seated us at a "wobbly" table that turned out to be a camping table placed next to a laundry basket overflowing with tablecloths ready for the wash. I believe that any customer going to a restaurant where a course costs an average of €25 has the right to eat at a real table without mountains of dirty tablecloths next to them.

31/12/2025: This time we went for breakfast. Sirio is always a sure thing. If you're passing through Spotorno and need breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can't choose better than Sirio! Impeccable service (smiling and friendly waiters) and a stunning location: what more can I say?

11/10/2025: I was out walking the dogs at Gaiazza and it was getting late, I called and asked if we could eat something... Despite the time and the 4 dogs they told me to go anyway... They were very kind and helpful.. and I ate a delicious plate of trofie with pesto!!!

10/11/2025: Superb restaurant by the sea. We had lobster pasta, which was excellent! And very good desserts too: apple tart and chocolate fondant. The prices for starters and main courses are rather high, but the portions are very generous and of good quality! The service was very pleasant; we had a wonderful time.

23/12/2025: I eat very little bread due to weight issues. I like it a lot. I buy their crunchy sticks. They're delicious, but not very crumb-y.

22/08/2025: Thursday's aperitif and 1 free drink deal was excellent... Food and drinks 🔝! The only flaw is that if the place closes at 9 PM, shouldn't the staff start sending people away at 8:26 PM? That didn't seem polite at all... At least at 8:50 PM you can start politely asking to leave the table... But not before that! The guy told us at 8:26 PM they'd be closing in 10 minutes... ABSURD.
