21/08/2025: My husband and I had accommodation at the Tritone Hotel Rome next door to Gia Roma. Every spare minute we had, we’d pop in for breakfast, coffee, apertivo etc. we were lucky enough to meet Maurizio (owner) and his partner Emanuella (beautiful people). Wait staff Roberto went above and beyond for us. We had dinner in our very own private dining area two nights in a row and the food was amazing and all homemade 👍🏻 10/10 see pics below. My husband and I will definitely be back to visit Maurizio and his team when back in beautiful Roma ☀️

02/09/2025: ⚠️Warning After enjoying delicious food and drinks, I was asked for a large tip at the end of the bill, and even had to pay it. I understand that tipping is optional and meant to show gratitude. However, when I explained that the €30 tip was a 10% maximum, they said €18 would be fine, and I had no choice but to pay it in cash. ⚠️Tipping is not mandatory in Italy to begin with! This is a malicious scam targeting tourists. The food was delicious, but the final tip exchange completely ruined everything: the food, my mood, everything. There have been quite a few reviews about mandatory tipping in the past few days, but they have either been deleted or buried under positive reviews. I looked at the reviews immediately after leaving the restaurant and found many of the same reviews. If you want to eat here even if you feel uncomfortable paying a large, mandatory tip, then I highly recommend it.

01/09/2025: I eat her yestarday lunch i stay one week in Roma i tryed alot of places this place is the best in Roma The fettuccine con trufle was so good and the beef steak thank you ( walid )the service is the best the ristorante was amazing , tiramisù was so good i will send my friend i reccomend this place the staff is so kind Thank you Walid ⭐️

24/08/2025: I was visiting with 2 hungry children at 400. Was told kitchen opens at 5, so we waited. Then it changed to 530, then 6PM, so we left.

24/08/2025: The food is average. However, the menu leaves much to be desired. At 11:40 a.m., we wanted to order two salmon and avocado squares and two smoothies, but we were told the kitchen opened at 12:00 and that only brunch was available until then. The summer brunch, which costs twice as much, is the exact same thing. How incredibly efficient is the kitchen? As if that weren't enough, the summer brunch arrived staggered. The fruit arrived before the square, and the smoothie arrived after we'd already finished, despite repeated requests. A terrible experience.

17/08/2025: This is a rooftop restaurant with a great view that I discovered on my way down from Pincho Hill. The food wasn't exceptional, but it was acceptable. I chose this place for its atmosphere, so I have absolutely no regrets. Please note that food orders start at 7 PM.

12/08/2025: I was food poisoned to the point where i was hospitalized at your resturant. I was recommended sea bass pasta, which did not taste good. After 3 hours i was in an ambulance passing out because of vomiting and diarrhea. I hope in the future you take food safety more serious. This ruined my vacation and I'm still struggling from a concussion from falling on the bathroom floor after fainting. And to the response of the restaurant: Ihave the medical record from the stay in hospital. This. Is. NOT. Fake. How about an apology instead? That would be the correct response!

13/07/2025: Il locale ha un’atmosfera accogliente e curata, perfetta sia per un caffè veloce che per una pausa più lunga a pranzo o a cena. Ai tavoli verrete assistiti da Andrea, un cameriere di rara professionalità e gentilezza. Con un sorriso sincero e una grande attenzione al cliente, è riuscito a rendere il nostro momento al tavolo ancora più piacevole. È raro trovare qualcuno così appassionato del proprio lavoro e capace di coniugare efficienza e calore umano. Il menù è vario e ben pensato, con proposte che uniscono tradizione e creatività. Ottimi anche i caffè e i dolci, perfetti per una pausa golosa. Fermento è sicuramente un posto in cui tornare. Consigliatissimo – e chiedete di Andrea!

06/07/2025: Comida fantástica, vino excelente, servicio atento, gran ambiente. Lo probé después de leer las otras críticas pero sin esperar mucho, el lugar es en realidad una joya inesperada. El camarero Andrea, muy amable y profesional, nos hizo sentir inmediatamente bienvenidos y a gusto. Seguimos sus sugerencias para la cena y disfrutamos de cada plato (desde una deliciosa burrata con aceitunas alici y tomates secos, unos tagliolini alle vongole maravillosamente sedosos y unos fettuccine al ragù di manzo tradicionalmente ricos) acompañados de un vino blanco delicado pero multidimensional. Delicioso tiramisú para cerrar una cena perfecta y de lo más agradable. Gracias, definitivamente volveremos.

06/08/2025: We had a great evening meal here. We got to Rome around 11 pm and they were open late and very accommodating. Lots of smiling happy locals, would suggest for some really good and affordable food.

03/08/2025: The pizza dough was good and light, too much mozzarella and not enough vegetables or tomato. Overall, it was good, and I'd definitely recommend it again.

02/09/2025: I came with a friend and frankly very disappointed with this moment on the terrace, the lamentable service - the waiters busy talking except caring about our expectations, we have to complain - a waiter or manager was next to him spending his time with friends of his visibly without caring about us - I find the food good but expensive despite the quantity - frankly the impression of being taken for tourists - I do not recommend

01/09/2025: Hostaria del Mercato is a complete disappointment! This place in Rome is an overpriced letdown. The café Americano was the worst I’ve ever had—thin, tasteless, and barely coffee, yet they charge an outrageous €4.50 for it! To make matters worse, they’re charging a shocking €6.50 for a tiny 0.25L bottle of Coke, and they don’t even clearly indicate this absurd price on their menu—talk about shady! To make things worse, despite the huge space, there’s only one small toilet per gender, which is woefully inadequate. Expect long waits and frustration just to use the facilities. Save your money and avoid this tourist trap. Rome has plenty of better spots with decent coffee, fair prices, and proper amenities. Hostaria del Mercato is an absolute no-go!

06/08/2025: A simple cappuccino and croissant, certainly not from a pastry shop but rather ordinary, and one that not even most cafés serve anymore. The cappuccino is standard and not very creamy.

25/07/2025: I have seen some bad reviews so I want to share my experience. We had a great evening, the staff were very efficient and friendly and spoke Spanish and English. The food is very good quality, although the vegetarian options are a bit limited. The cocktails were great and well served. We went here before a concert at Parco della Música and it was perfect. The athmosphere is lovely, it has a huge outside seating space illuminated by lightbulbs, a pizza truck and a meat grill. The garden is surrounded by palm trees. We had a great dining experience.

31/08/2025: A truly beautiful and elegant place, it was promising, but the service is truly terrible. Unfortunately, overtourism in Rome has also led to this: young people who don't want to work in this field, but are forced to. So they behave rudely towards customers, taking out their frustrations on them. Don't fool me, I already know everything; we have the same problem in my city. I understand that maybe it's not the job of choosing, but mistreating a customer who asked if they'd actually given her what she asked for, NOT out of controversy but for a SIMPLE HEALTH MATTER, should be welcomed and not treated with the disdain I found myself facing. And also the sarcasm, the giggles... wow. The fact is that in addition to being gaslighted and told that what I'd asked to be removed from the drink wasn't there, being told I was imagining it, that "maybe this girl needs to be more calm..." and being mocked... I spent an afternoon with all the worst symptoms imaginable, so it was a lie; And not even with the decency to receive an apology for their mistake. Just that lame joke from the waiter and the disdainful looks from his colleague. Oh, and I'd also add that the bill wasn't excessive, more than that; not even at the menagerie did I spend this amount of money, for an order that wasn't even right. So: I advise everyone to stay away from this place. Simply another tourist trap in this city.

29/08/2025: The prices are unreasonable. I don't know if they are for everyone or just because we are Arabs. The taste is very, very average. I do not recommend it.

12/05/2025: Location non certo originale con mobili di recupero però realizzata con molto gusto e coerenza di stile, cosa non scontata in questo periodo. Se da un lato le grandi dimensioni di questo ex capannone (almeno credo sia questa la provenienza) danno un tocco di fascino in più dall’altro c’è qualche problema di insonorizzazione per cui con il locale affollato si fa fatica a conversare. D’estate però c’è anche l’ampio spazio all’aperto. Da sottolinea che il parcheggio disponibile che in zona è merce rarissima. Per il resto fritti discreti ma pizze buonissime ! Una via di mezzo tra napoletana e romana. Servizio molto gentile e sempre presente. Prezzi non economici per la zona ma giusti per la qualità dell’offerta.
