01/10/2025: We were a group of friends, all of whom were trying African cuisine for the first time. The Senafe restaurant was the perfect place for this experience: good food and a wide variety of Eritrean drinks, a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, and extremely friendly staff. Among us was a vegetarian who was very pleased with the wide selection of vegetarian dishes. Furthermore, the restaurant currently has an agreement with Ergo and accepts meal vouchers, not to mention a 10% discount for university students! Overall, a more than positive first experience with Eritrean and Ethiopian cuisine! Kudos to the friendly and warm staff!

24/09/2025: I had the opportunity to dine at this little restaurant with my boyfriend. The staff was really friendly, the food was tasty and plentiful! The prices were more than respectable. Recommended!!

26/11/2025: I'll start by saying that my partner is Ethiopian, so after years I know this cuisine very well... I discovered the place by chance on the recommendation of an Ethiopian girl I met on the bus... And culinary advice could not have been more spot-on!!! We chose it to celebrate my partner's graduation, and we had a wonderful time! Excellent, fresh food, made with top-quality ingredients, and I can tell you this as an expert and lover of this cuisine, the chef has golden hands! Even the other guests, all new to this type of cuisine, were impressed by the quality of the dishes. The place is clean and welcoming, and also very distinctive! The girl in the dining room was always very helpful and kind in accommodating all our requests, both during dinner and when we stopped by beforehand to ask for information! Thank you, it was truly a pleasure and a great experience eating at your restaurant! We'll be back soon!

24/01/2026: We were here for dinner, and it's not my first time. I've brought several people here, and they were all happy. The meat and vegetables were delicious, top-quality. The spiciness isn't that of a burning tongue. In fact, the spices caress your tongue, and it's a pleasant spiciness. Speaking as someone who doesn't eat spicy food often. Excellent prices! With everything we ordered, a goram goren special and a sunbeam mix with drinks and two appetizers, we spent €20 each. Truly very reasonable! I will absolutely be back! With other friends. It's definitely worth it!

19/11/2025: Excellent authentic Ethiopian restaurant, very welcoming staff and food was spicy, tasty and delicious. Staff kindly recommended the menu to suit our taste. Was a bit chilly inside the restaurant but that is my only remark. Decor was authentic and pleasant. Washroom decent. Prices were very reasonable, I highly recommend. Thank you!

26/10/2025: A family-run trattoria, unassuming but with truly excellent food. The staff is friendly and helpful. Try the nduja bombette (or ravioli with ham). The homemade desserts are also excellent.

11/10/2025: We love it. We stumbled upon it three years ago by chance, looking for a place to eat, and despite its modest appearance, instinct told us to stop. The lady cooks like a pro: pajata, truffle ravioli, and bombette stuffed with anduja and provola cheese... Everything is super homemade and delicious. And the gentleman is incredibly friendly and welcoming; he spoils us with a drink, even a non-alcoholic one for my son, and always has a kind word for everyone. We hope it never changes, and I'm a little sad to write this review for fear it will be overrun by tourists, but they truly deserve it.

14/12/2025: It was a horrible experience. We ordered two dishes, a water, and a cocktail. These two dishes arrived half an hour late! They weren't very hot either; the one with the meat had two pieces and wasn't even good. The other one, with the couscous, was better. The bathroom was dirty, the service was terrible; when these two dishes arrived, the cutlery was still missing, and the water and cocktail never arrived! And then we had to report it at checkout because they also charged us for the drinks, which never arrived. Overall, it's a shame because it could be a good idea to eat African food, but the quality and service were nonexistent. So don't go there; it's a waste of money, and we paid dearly for it. A total disappointment.

14/12/2025: Food. & a service : Excellent, 10/10 Value for money: Average, 6/10, €25 for one person is definitely on the pricey side for a standard African dish which I have had for less than 10€ in other restaurants. Nice music.

10/01/2026: Great Ethiopian food! Super authentic and my book and probably some of the best you can find outside of Africa! The owners were incredibly sweet and we were gifted a lot of free food and drinks. Probably my best meal in Rome! Thank you Johannes and Fasika!

What can I say about Giovanni: he's incredibly friendly and welcoming, and if you're curious, he'll tell you about Ethiopian culture. It feels like you're in Ethiopia. Compliments to his wife's cooking, they're excellent.

15/11/2025: Great place offering Senegalese food in the very center of Genoa, with a nicely decorated interior. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and although the waiter’s English wasn’t very good, he made an effort to communicate and answer all our questions. The food was excellent, with generous portions from appetizers to dessert. I definitely recommend it!

16/12/2025: In early 2023, I started eating at Dakar. I loved the flavor and tenderness of the meat. Unfortunately, this time, when I went out to eat after a long time, expecting a good meal, I was disappointed. The meat was very tough, like rubber. Not tender at all.

13/12/2025: We made a reservation (the place is small) and had a wonderful meal! True Senegalese specialties, helped by the very kind waiter. Unique atmosphere, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! P.S. Don't ask for alcohol or other commercial drinks, just fruit juices and water! Prices...very, very reasonable.
