We visited Milan during a heat wave that disrupted many of our plans. We were left without an idea of where to go for dinner. As we walked through the city, we discovered Ristorante Africa. All of us are vegetarians and were happy to see plentiful options for us. We were welcomed in and the service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food was delicious and we consider it the best meal we had while visiting Milan. In a city where delicious food abounds, don’t overlook this gem.

If you're looking for an authentic, immersive, and traditional culinary experience, this Ethiopian-Eritrean restaurant in Milan is an absolute must. We ordered zighini, the splendid one-pot dish served on traditional injera: a soft, light, and perfectly fermented base that serves as a backdrop for a variety of unforgettable sauces and specialties. • The Wot (meat stew) was incredibly tender, masterfully spiced with a fragrant yet perfectly balanced berbere. • The vegetarian options also deserve a mention: from lentils to green beans to leafy greens, every single bite exuded freshness and care in preparation. Eating with your hands, breaking the injera and picking up the various ingredients, is not only fun, but creates a unique conviviality that transforms dinner into a true ritual of sharing. The atmosphere is refined, welcoming, and immaculately clean, transporting you away from the hustle and bustle of Milan from the moment you step inside. The staff are the real asset: exceptionally kind, extremely helpful in explaining the dishes and recommending the best pairings (even with wine!). Since the restaurant was renovated, I've been coming back more and more often. The food is excellent and they have a good selection of Italian wines.

Authentic African cuisine. We had really delicious appetizers and main courses; some dishes might have been a bit too spicy for some Europeans. For us, it was great.
