08/10/2025: For my birthday, my partner wanted to surprise me with dinner at your place. I already knew this place; the road to get there was magical: a gentle climb through the Abruzzo hills, the distant lights of the sea. When we arrived, a rare silence greeted us, the kind that only exists in ancient villages. The restaurant is hidden among the stones and narrow streets, and every step seems to lead you into a story. We were escorted to an intimate room, with warm lighting and thoughtful details. The staff greeted us with a kind smile, as if they were truly waiting for us. No forced formality, just natural elegance and sincere attention. We chose the tasting menu: a journey through the ideas and flavors of chef Davide Pezzuto. Each dish was a small discovery, a balance between creativity and roots. Some pairings surprised me—sea and land intertwined, smoky and sweet notes, herbs reminiscent of the countryside and freedom. I vividly remember a fish dish with wild herbs and a delicate sauce: it moved me more than I thought possible when faced with a dish. There was a harmony that spoke of care, passion, and home. During dinner, we often looked at each other in silence, smiling. It was one of those rare moments when you feel completely present—grateful, lighthearted, happy. The service was impeccable, always attentive but never intrusive. Each dish was delicately explained to us, as if it were a shared secret. The dessert, surprising with a candle to celebrate me, sweetly concluded a journey that had already said it all. When we left, Montepagano was immersed in silence. The yellow lights of the street lamps outlined the stones of the village, and the sea, in the distance, seemed to breathe softly. I stopped for a moment, my hand in his, with that feeling of fullness that only certain evenings can leave. A different kind of birthday, without excess but full of emotion. A place where time slows down, where food becomes language, and where every detail—from the first greeting to the last glance at the sea—expresses an idea of ​​authentic beauty.
