My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying the "C'era una Volta" menu at Ristorante Crocifisso – and it was an extraordinary experience from beginning to end.
Even the opening course, with three lovingly prepared amuse-bouches, demonstrated the creativity, precision, and passion with which the chefs work. This was followed by five courses that were not only technically perfect but also delighted the palate. Each dish told its own story, combining regional products, refined techniques, and an impressive attention to detail.
The service deserves special mention: attentive, warm, professional, and pleasantly unobtrusive. As a guest, you feel welcome and in excellent hands. The team truly understands how to make the evening a completely special experience.
Each course was a highlight in itself, and together they created a culinary experience that will be remembered for a long time. Here, you can see in every detail why this restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star – and in our opinion, it's more than deserved.
Anyone in Sicily looking for exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and an evening of pure enjoyment shouldn't miss a visit to Ristorante Crocifisso.
Thank you for an evening that ranks among the most wonderful dining experiences we've ever had. We'll definitely be back.
19/05/2026: Unfortunately disappointing!
The first two courses were exciting and good, but then there was a 40-minute wait for the main course (lamb),
which was only of typical hotel quality, and then the dessert, served two minutes after the main course, was a disappointing end to the meal. The fact that the chef (or the advertised mother) didn't appear in person and that the table was even wobbly (which was later fixed) left a rather flat feeling after the hefty bill.

07/08/2026: A Sicilian pearl, we spent a wonderful evening, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, delicious food, and a romantic atmosphere with attention to every detail.
06/08/2026: The service and location definitely deserve 5 stars. We had two drinks as an aperitif and had a great time. It's a quiet place, sheltered from the sun, and I recommend it if you want to drink well.

13/07/2025: We booked for Friday evening, July 11th, they reserved a table for us, and when we arrived, the restaurant was closed. Luckily, there's a fishmonger next door. The restaurant was closed, so we decided to call back. I wondered if they said the place was closed. What was the problem? I didn't waste time calling back.

24/07/2026: The food is a delight for the palate. There's nothing more to say, every time I go to Trapani, this place is a sure thing!
21/07/2026: Nice place. We asked if they could guarantee gluten-free service and were told they couldn't. For health reasons, we decided not to take the risk and left.
I would suggest indicating on the menu or website that there are no options for intolerances, so customers with celiac disease can plan ahead.

Dear Management,
I would like to clarify that the reviews you're referring to are only three (plus two fast food restaurants), including yours. I tend to leave a review only in exceptional cases, when the experience doesn't live up to expectations.
I regularly frequent highly rated restaurants, including Michelin-starred establishments, and over the course of over 15 years, I've enjoyed numerous restaurants around the world. In many cases, when the quality exceeds expectations, I don't even feel it's necessary to leave a review, as the restaurant's reputation speaks for itself.
In your case, unfortunately, I was particularly disappointed by the tuna and octopus, especially compared to other recent experiences during the same trip to Sicily. I also noticed that other customers also left their dishes incomplete, and I sensed surprise on the part of the staff in such circumstances.
My intention is not to be polemical, but constructive. In situations like this, I believe a less defensive approach might be more helpful to you.

09/08/2026: If you're visiting Castellamare del Golfo or are in the surrounding area, you can't miss "L'Antica Brace." Its culinary offerings rival even the finest restaurants. Here, you'll experience a taste of Sicily while enjoying traditional dishes at an exceptional quality/price ratio. The professionalism and courtesy of the manager and staff, combined with the flavors, are addictive and you won't be able to do without them. As tourists, we'll miss it so much, as it helped us create one of the best gastronomic memories of Sicily. If we return to the area in the future, we'll definitely be back. Excellent! SUPERLATIVE!
03/08/2026: We had chicken and fries. The chicken was a bit dry, the fries were croquette-like, and the panelle were practically inedible. The salmon was watered down. Three stars out of respect for those who run the business, which could use some improvement in terms of quality. Worth trying again.
