04/10/2025: We had a really great lunch here today. Five fish appetizers for two people €50. Excellent and interesting cooking. Friendly service. Would recommend and plan to return ourselves.
28/09/2025: The best Pasta A la Norma we had in our week here, between Catania and the islands north. Everything was delicious; dessert should not be skipped, also phenomenal. The staff was fantastic, friendly and attentive. Families were happy eating here and I would swear the manager knew everyone in the neighborhood as a regular if I could understand Italian. I felt welcomed and was well cared for nonetheless.
One of our favorites of many restaurants visited around Italy.
I wish the car wash across the street would close for a better atmosphere.

23/09/2025: Can’t say enough good about this restaurant.
I’ve been in Sicily for 12 days. Have had meals of all sorts — “nicer” ones, more casual, etc. so far most of my favorite food has come from chill little spots run by one or two people…but Andrea just salvaged the “nice” bucket.
You can tell the team has experience, and found their voice a long time ago. You can’t fake a connection — if it’s there it’s there.
Perfect meal. I just canceled my dinner reservations for tomorrow because I have to end my trip on that.
14/09/2025: Be warned: prices have increased by an average of 50% compared to the menu images. Everything else is refined and delicious. Recommended.

11/10/2025: I went out for dinner in the evening and had the 8-course tasting menu – this review is based on a Michelin-oriented assessment, meaning it focuses on perfection in the cuisine, service, wine pairing, and overall experience.
What was good:
* The meal overall was very successful. Technically masterful, creative ideas, and a good selection of ingredients.
* The "salute to molecular gastronomy" with the olive bursting in the mouth and releasing a very intense flavor was particularly impressive. A moment that added character to the evening.
* The service was generally friendly and attentive. There were moments where details were spot on.
What was less convincing:
* The portions were rather small in places, even for gourmet cuisine. This meant that you didn't always have the opportunity to fully appreciate the flavor of a course in its entirety – which is a shame if you expect many small nuances.
* The "hamburger" interpretation of Sicilian dishes: The idea is appealing, but the burger bun was so dominant that it overpowered the other flavors. The balance suffered as a result.
Wine Pairing / Sommelier:
* One of the bottles of wine in the pairing was almost empty, and only a very small amount was poured. It seemed to us that more should have been poured, but the sommelier never appeared again. Only after asking the waitress did we learn that the originally planned wine was no longer available. The restaurant manager finally intervened and had us served a very delicious replacement wine, which was a positive moment. Unfortunately, we had to explain ourselves three times, which was unnecessarily awkward for such an obvious matter.
Overall, the amount of wine poured was relatively small—especially compared to the Duomo in Ragusa.
The sommelier barely maintained eye contact, seemed distant, at times uninterested in her own presentation, and somewhat above the guests. Overall, rather unpleasant for a Michelin-starred restaurant—I would have preferred more passion for wine. Perhaps she was having a bad day, which I certainly grant everyone.
Compared to Duomo (Ragusa-Ibla, Chef: Ciccio Sultano, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant), the service at Crossificcio falls somewhat short overall.
That's not to say Crossificcio is bad—but compared to a restaurant like Duomo, there's still some room for improvement, especially in terms of service and wine pairing.
Summary & Rating
Crossificcio offers a good to very good tasting menu with some very strong moments, including the molecular greeting. The cuisine is creative and meticulous, but details make the difference at this level: portion size, wine service, personal attention.
03/10/2025: A charming place! We had a seafood tasting, what can I say...it was wonderful, every course was spectacular and surprising. The cod with leek foam has remained in my heart. It's truly a masterpiece of cuisine, compliments to the chef and all the staff. The wine cellar is very extensive, the service top-notch, and the ambience is meticulously designed.

03/11/2025: A truly charming place in the heart of Ortigia.
We drank interesting and sophisticated cocktails, carefully crafted and truly delicious. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet welcoming, with a historic square and the sky overhead—a truly evocative atmosphere.
The food is simple yet fresh and well-prepared: we tried a fennel salad and anchovy crostini, perfect accompaniments to our drinks.
An ideal place for a relaxed and delicious evening, definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Ortigia.

13/07/2025: We booked for Friday evening, July 11th, they reserved a table for us, and when we arrived, the restaurant was closed. Luckily, there's a fishmonger next door. The restaurant was closed, so we decided to call back. I wondered if they said the place was closed. What was the problem? I didn't waste time calling back.

05/10/2025: This place uses third-world quality burgers.
They're pressed pork burgers. For those who don't know what pressed meat is, here's what I mean:
These burgers are made in factories, pressed with machinery, and the quality is obviously very poor.
Furthermore, on Deliveroo they don't even mention what kind of meat it is... which gives you a good idea of the policy of this pseudo-restaurant.

09/10/2025: We spent the night in the RV parking lot. The restaurant was actually closed, but they still served us a very good and generous meal. Highly recommended, thank you very much.
30/09/2025: A wonderful and atmospheric place. We were the only ones in the restaurant (end of September), but the food was fresh and delicious. The service was wonderful, taking great care of us. We felt like we were at a family-run place. 💛

13/09/2025: Good looking restaurant with bad service and horrible food. We tried 6 different dishes and all of them were pretty bad.
07/09/2025: We stayed at this hotel for a few days with our family and had a wonderful time. The property is well-maintained, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the location is ideal for combining the beach and the city. The Peraino brothers' gourmet cuisine was nothing short of sublime. But what truly made our experience special was the extraordinary hospitality from the staff.
Everyone was kind and helpful, but we were particularly struck by the attention they showed to our son: they immediately made friends with him, greeting him with a smile every time, and stopping to talk or play whenever they saw him. This made our stay even more wonderful.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for their courtesy and kindness. We will definitely be back. With love, Maria, Flavio, and Salvatore.

They have a limited selection of pastas,
and I had the shrimp pistachio pasta, which was delicious.
The chicken and other dishes were all delicious, too.
This restaurant is popular with locals.
