I came across Mertobar!
From the comments of others who visited this place I said to myself "We will have dinner there!"
I walked 6 km with a 3.7 year old child, the little one was hungry and I raised my blood pressure
I ordered a Caesar salad, but I didn't get it with all the ingredients inside! I told the staff that the salad was not ok and they reacted immediately, for which I thank you!
But I think that almost whole lettuces for salad are not put like that!

18/04/2026: Definitely the best restaurant I've tried in the last year. Perfect food. I recommend the linguine with shrimp... also try the oysters. The staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and friendly!
16/04/2026: Excellent experience. The service was very personal, Matteo running the bar & wine with great expertise. Fiona was dedicated and equally a delight to be served by. We went for a birthday dinner and it was our best food & dinner experience in Venice but not the most expensive! The front part of the room is cosy, the back might need some Feng-shui input. Overall top and to be repeated the next time in Venice.

10/05/2026: The best gelato in Portogruaro, and I'll start by saying I come from a family with two generations of gelato makers in Caorle. They're also very creative in their combinations of unique flavors. I'm always happy to travel the miles to get there because it's truly worth it.

05/04/2026: Authentic and genuine atmosphere, even though it's located in a busy area, it retains its Venetian atmosphere. Fair prices and a welcoming, small but beautiful space.
Indoor and outdoor seating.
I recommend stopping for a coffee.

I ate breakfast here on my last day in Italy.
The kind-looking lady was by herself, tending to local regulars.
I ordered a prosciutto sandwich for €3 (photo right) and a cappuccino for €1.50.
I was very satisfied with the breakfast I had in such a peaceful atmosphere.

14/05/2026: A hidden gem! A family-run restaurant. Homemade dishes, all prepared in-house. Traditional Italian cuisine. Just like Nonna's!
The homemade liqueur, made by the mother, was delicious... Excellent value for money. Warm and welcoming hosts.
02/05/2026: Around 6:30 PM, I called to order two takeout pizzas and was told, "No problem, come here when you're hungry and we'll make them for you."
At 8:00 PM, we arrived and were told they couldn't make them for us because "uncle has improvised as a pizza chef, and if we'd sat down, we'd have waited a long time anyway," because they hadn't anticipated the influx of people.
Now I ask myself: why guarantee something if you can't actually finish it? Let them immediately say no at that point...

06/07/2026: A pizzeria that really caught my eye when I passed by it 😇🥳 and I decided that I wanted to eat in this place, I ordered pizza and took it to go, it is very delicious and such a thin and tasty dough, I was satisfied and happy that I found such a good pizza. All the pizza products are tasty, fresh and delicious, I practically have no words for how happy I am with this opportunity to eat such deliciousness. I recommend you try it too 🤩🥳🥰.

The pre-starter is a remarkable balance of sweet and savory, the cooked seafood appetizer with matching sauces is a pleasant surprise, the spaghetti with clams leaves a taste of the sea in your mouth, and the large fried vegetables are as light as the freshness of the catch. Homemade custard biscuits are second to none. Impeccable yet discreet service, special attention to allergies, and a stunning location. What can I say? Hats off to you guys!
16/05/2026: A wonderful culinary experience, accompanied by the Marzadro distillery manager. Mattia Marzadro was present and attentive, explaining all the pairings with the dishes. The staff was attentive to every need and request of the table. We'll be back. All the dishes were excellent, especially the risotto. Well done!

31/05/2026: The service was very polite, the food was average, we order a pizza greca,and they brought us a Margherita with 6 olives on top.
21/05/2026: As a tourist who just had 4-5 doners in Germany, this by far beat them all. Pricing was so cheap they make the bread right in front of you so fresh and felt so healthy even the fries. 11€ for a giant doner, fries, and coke me and my friend came back 4 hours later for another lol def reccomend
