07/08/2025: We had breakfast there—the croissants were fresh and delicious. Then we went back for gelato—also excellent. The staff were very kind. Thank you so much!

07/07/2025: Located on Garibaldi Square, Bar Gelateria Cattarinelli enjoys a nice location, with a large outdoor terrace, and seems to offer a wide choice of pastries and ice creams. However, we tried it as a bar, just for coffee and drinks, and the experience was rather negative: very limited choices of products, staff quite careless and level of cleanness low. Not recommended!

12/08/2025: The food was really excellent; I tried the chicken gyoza with soy sauce. The place was very cute and the service was friendly, perfect for a family dinner. The price was very fair. In short, this restaurant is truly beautiful.

01/07/2025: Very disappointing stay. Food was poor, overpriced, and not up to standard - we ate at local restaurants after one bad dinner. Despite being on half board, we were charged extra for tap water and a “cover charge” for cutlery and tablecloths. None of this was explained in advance, and we were forced to pay on check-out. The hotel refused to refund us even after we raised the issue. Rooms were dated, some staff were rude, and facilities were clearly in decline. Would not return or recommend.

30/06/2025: We stayed for 6 nights in August with half board in a Junior Suite (upgrade offered from superior, thank you!), as a starting point for the rest of Umbria. I would like to point out that the view and the aesthetic aspect of the hotel are probably 6 stars. Incredible location with a view of Collepepe directly from the pool. Internally it still maintains the original structure of the Abbey. Some other positive notes are the self-service drinks at breakfast (something you don't find often) and the numerous services, such as billiards and spa. Unfortunately, in essence, it has very little of a 4-star hotel... In the room there were many things to improve: it had several dirty and ruined corners, it seemed hastily painted and there were stains of color everywhere, the shower rod was of poor quality and full of limescale, the shower was missing a support for bathroom products, double bed made with 2 singles (in junior suite....), very uncomfortable pillows, completely absent soundproofing both towards the garden and towards the stairwell and towards the other rooms (we had some difficulty sleeping on the first day). As for the restaurant, the guys are all very kind, but even there there are many details to improve: dirty cutlery, glasses and placemats (the latter clearly reused for dinner from breakfast). The swimming pool is beautiful as a context, but it needs cleaning and fixing in various parts, starting from the yellow halo on the edges. In short, a hotel paid for as a 4-star, which is worth 3 stars, but with the potential of a 5-star. I hope that the details are fixed because the location is unique! A special mention to the reception staff for their kindness! P.s. lots of beautiful kittens! P.s. the road to the hotel is a bit bumpy.

17/08/2025: We only used the restaurant service because it's very close to the Sanctuary of Santa Rita. The food quality is terrible: reheated ready-made pasta, very hard sausage, watered-down limoncello, terrible fruit salad. It's an 80s-style place, everything stuck in time. The prices are medium/high. Money wasted. Not recommended.

17/08/2025: Beautiful place and very nice people. The food was less than stellar and there seemed to be a shortage of staff, everything took quite a while.

12/07/2025: Food was really nice. A lovely pizza, lasagne and panacotta. It was the service that let the place down. Waitress and another one who was indifferent to my compliment of the food. Overheard a customer who had to insist on sitting elsewhere as waitress wanted to sit where they didn’t like. Wife owner was really nice.

30/07/2025: I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Minerva in Assisi. The hotel is charming, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making me feel truly cared for. Its location is ideal—just steps away from the cathedral and within walking distance of most of Assisi’s historical sites. While the hilly terrain can be a bit challenging, the stunning views and timeless beauty of the city more than make up for it. A memorable experience in a magical place.

22/06/2025: Stayed last week on a 2 day trip to Assisi. While the location is prime, and the room was very comfortable- there was a woman at the front desk who was just beyond rude. We had an experience with her in the restaurant where she was also our waitress. She brought us out extremely dry and hard bread. We politely asked her if perhaps we could have a little bit of olive oil (or perhaps even our drinks brought out so we didn’t choke.) and her response was “no. Olive oil is for salad only.” Meanwhile, the table behind us with a local family of clearly Italian folks, had oil for their bread (that’s how we had the idea to ask!!) The next day, we went to a restaurant in Gubbio, and our waiter brought oil to the table without us asking, we asked him and our guide for the day if that was just for the salad. They both looked at us very confused. When we told them that this woman from the hotel and hotel restaurant denied us such a silly request- they had the same response “so sorry. That’s not true and we’ve never heard of that. She probably didn’t want to serve you.” Perhaps this seems ridiculous to some to complain about this, but the fact is that no one else wants to feel as though someone is being discriminatory and not fulfilling a request because of that kind of attitude. Not only this, she was at the front desk (glasses, brown hair, late 40s maybe 50s) and just couldn’t be bothered. God forbid we had a question. Like I said, great location, comfortable room but we won’t be back. Every hotel in Assisi is technically a great location and all very competitive for pricing.

07/09/2025: Everything was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was courteous and efficient.

03/09/2025: Today, as soon as we arrived in Assisi, the two of us went for lunch. Despite the time, it was almost 3:00 PM and therefore closing time...the waitress Emma served us with great kindness and courtesy. Not only that, but she also advised us, at our request, how we could organize our sightseeing tour. Truly welcoming! We had a large salad with grilled chicken, which was very good, some vegetable skewers, and a stuffed potato. And coffee. Everything was very good and plentiful. Fairly priced. Highly recommended. 19/08/2025: Yesterday I went with my family to this restaurant set on a mountain with a road that you could almost call dirt where there is not even a small house but all in all we ate well we had a tagliata with Colonnata lard paid 15 € each and some homemade chips. The tagliata was very good and also the chips but the chips were literally 10 and paid 5 € a rip-off. A very kind girl served us but the food arrived later than the other tables

21/07/2025: An experience to forget. The sign "Typical Dishes" was just misleading advertising for those of us who stopped for lunch at 1:30 PM on a road trip. In fact, one of us didn't even eat...they forgot to tell us the dish wasn't on the menu. Better to just stop at the bar.

20/08/2025: I don't know if it's still Yola, since it's now called Osteria del Drago, under new management. The new management has been truly disappointing, not to mention the food, which I can't fault. I had a perfectly average first course, a half-board, a second course, half a side dish, a bottle of water, and a coffee for €36, an absurd price that defies all logic. Next time I'll go to Vissani.

29/06/2025: Disgusting service, wrong drinks and overpriced for the food, not much and not even that much. Waitress makes jokes and is unpleasant. Never here again.
