07/06/2026: We pre-ordered a gluten-free cake for a birthday. Everything went perfectly and the cake was absolutely delicious. We opted for a strawberry cream cake, which was a really great choice :-) The price was definitely right.

07/06/2026: For me, it's home. I've been going there more or less frequently since it opened. Management has changed a few years ago. Mario & Christian always come up with something new. Very crowded, with seating inside and in the (pedestrian) square. The food and drinks are good, with average prices, if not cheaper. Lots of young people, and they show sports, especially football, during big events. A special mention goes to Super Barbara, always ready with advice on what to drink or eat, prompt and decisive. She's the link between the old and new management.

02/06/2026: I went there for lunch with my family. The waiters didn't speak perfect Italian, or at least not all of them. However, the place and the service, especially the food, were very good. The menu is à la carte, not all-you-can-eat. I highly recommend it!

29/03/2026: A great bakery for a quick bite without breaking the bank. I found the bresaola sandwich to be remarkably good. The bread is crispy and the flavor combination is excellent. The view of the bell tower is also a treat.

04/01/2026: We went to Brixen specifically to stay at this hotel, and to dine in its Michelin starred restaurant. While we were not overall disappointed, we would have expected a little bit better. This historic establishment has a marvelous location and the building itself is quite like a museum when it comes to history, arts and furnishing. We stayed in the main building, in standard rooms. The rooms are clean, but really basic. The bathrooms were very small and showed some wear and tear. Very few amenities (no shampoo, nor conditioner, just shower gel and body lotion). The Spa is well advertised on their website and I was expecting something a bit better. The sauna was small, with little information about the "dress code" (some people were nude, others weren't), the wet sauna was turned off. I was told there is water available, and I am sure there is, but I couldn't find it. Most spas also offer herbal teas, which was not the case here. The pool area with loungers is nice. The pool is lightly heated. I disliked the fitness room. It is extremely small. I gather it might have been a cellar as the ceilings are very low and vaulted - which doesn't make it for it being airy enough to feel confortable. There is only a tredmill, a bike, a bench and a few dumbells. Regardless: you wouldn't want to exercise heavily in that space. No water in the fitness room - no towels either. The best part of the experience is the breakfast buffet and the overall service. Breakfst offers a bounty of options - both sweet and savory- of outstanding quality. Service is impeccable. I think you pay for the history, the location and the (past) reputation of the establishment. I have been in 4 stars (this is a 4 stars + according to their ad) that provided a more comfortable stay, better facilities for a lower price. I understand that might not be the case in Brixen, but some standards should be quite universal. That being said, I don't regret going there.

20/12/2025: ​The communication here is extremely poor. They respond instantly to inquiries that benefit them, but completely ignore messages regarding issues or refund requests. I was told they were too busy with emails to reply to my urgent request, yet they replied within minutes only after I mentioned leaving a review. Highly unprofessional and unreliable service.

09/06/2026: Very quiet location. Very hospitable hosts. For example, we were invited to a Marende (traditional German snack) with local specialties and a wine tasting from their own production. We also received a tour of the facilities, including the distillation equipment for wine and grappa production. The holiday apartment itself is quite new, clean, and very spacious with two bedrooms. We would also like to highlight the daily bread roll delivery service.

01/05/2026: Delicious wine (Kerner), very tasty traditional South Tyrolean cuisine (roast beef with Bolzano sauce!!!) in a very pleasant atmosphere.... we enjoyed the food very much and felt very comfortable... Keep up the good work and continued success...

21/08/2025: At the entrance, there's a sign that says "Gluten-Free Ice Cream," so we went in to enjoy a cone; my daughter is celiac. The manager took a gluten-free cone, but he handled it with the same gloves he used to sell the regular cones. It's not so much his ignorance on the subject... what left me speechless was that, when I pointed it out, he asked us to leave! A terrible experience! I'll add one thing: that "gluten-free" sign is misleading; you shouldn't gamble with people's health. I would urge the relevant authorities to inspect the place and take action.

21/02/2026: We "only" visited the restaurant | a very enjoyable lunch with a daily menu that was priced in the upper range... but certainly justified by the quality of the food and drinks, the perfect service, and the ambiance of the establishment... it was really good...

25/07/2026: Enthusiastic about the reviews and the name, I head to the store and, to my surprise, see that it's closed on Saturday afternoons...unfortunately, we were quite misled by the hours listed online. I recommend making sure to include the following hours here as well...otherwise, many people leave empty-handed and with a bitter taste in their mouths.

09/07/2026: A tourist from Grosseto, I happened to see the shop and was greeted with a smile as soon as I entered, a rare sight these days. From what was on display, I knew it was all homemade. The girl who served me was kind, and I got two large pieces of strudel, but with different doughs. DELICIOUS!! Truly well done, and I hope to see you soon.

19/07/2026: The wait staff didn't want us there, treated us like outcasts. We stuck it out, got some good food. Wish I had spoken German, although they spoke English.

06/07/2026: Food and service were good. Prices were high, and there was an extra cover charge.

07/06/2026: The location is a major plus, but due to bad weather, we sat inside, which wasn't very inviting. The chair cushions were damaged, and it could definitely use a cleaning. The other cafes in the area are much more inviting. The cake and coffee were okay.

15/04/2026: I stopped in for a quick lunch and was really disappointed. The place isn't the prettiest, but that doesn't really matter. The food was poor quality, but what left me speechless was that they offered a workers' menu without mentioning that the vegetable "buffet" was an extra cost (it's normally included). In any case, I would have even agreed to pay a surcharge if it weren't for the fact that the buffet was truly meager and, besides, everything was practically sold out. The 5 euro surcharge was definitely not worth it.

26/03/2026: I stayed at this refuge for a whole weekend with my partner, and I have to say I had a wonderful time! The staff was very helpful, the owner Fabrizio was super friendly, the rooms were clean, and the view was priceless! The food was truly excellent, especially the pork shank with red cabbage in vinaigrette and the Schnitzel, perhaps one of the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back in the summer!

16/03/2026: I visited Rifugio Plose and ordered the Gulaschsuppe, while my friends had the Speckknödel in der Suppe. The same evening all three of us became seriously ill — vomiting, diarrhea, and a completely ruined next day. This was clearly not a coincidence, as all three of us had symptoms of severe food poisoning. When I spoke to the manager, she dismissed the issue and said it was ‘not their problem’ because no one else had complained. Later, the owner of the hotel we stayed at told us he had already heard several negative comments about this place. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant.
